I went to the store to pick up the order I placed on the web site.
There, I was told that my item was already sold to another customer.
The store, despite sending a confirmation email to me, did not put it aside.
This is unacceptable.
I was told that there was none in stock, none in transit, and none in the warehouse.
The ITEM: Pokemon Platnium with a 600+ page GUIDE BOOK($23VALUE) FOR FREE.

Why would you waste your time trying to talk to a CAG employee when you can call their support line and actually get this issue straightened out?

I can't speak for BB, but I know working at Lowe's these things happen. Perhaps an employee made the mistake seeing one in stock, and sent the confirmation but another customer already had it in there hand. Perhaps the stock count was off, which can happen.
I doubt BB will really do anything; perhaps you can see if they can get another one from another store for you?

ure suppose to talk to the manager. and if that doesn't help call corp on the spot.
They hosed me on the dark knight statues the same way back in December. I woke up and ordered them for in-store pickup and went to get them on my lunch only to wait in line for 20 minutes to be told they weren't there. It was my understanding (that everyone had heard) that they don't send the confirmation email until the item is in hand at the counter.
Fortunately for us, they removed the policy that guaranteed the item be ready for you in X minutes once you step up to the counter in November, so they no longer are accountable to have it ready for you immediately anymore.

Actually, the Pokemon Platinum guide is 600 pages. It's freakin' massive. It's the biggest guide I have ever seen.
Amazon has it on sale for $11.99. Check the details.

It's no lie, I saw the guide at Target today and it is massive. 200 pages are spent on the walkthrough and 400 pages are spent on the complete Pokedex.

do they offer the $20 gift card if you wait and they dont have your product? They do here in the states.
And he meant call the best Buy Corporate helpline not the store itself.

Hmm, it was free. You paid for nothing. Except for a little bit of inconvenience, there's nothing for you to argue about. Let it go.

did this to me and almost ruined my christmas, i wanted a 360 for christmas two years ago and i ordered it online via instore pick up because there were none online and it saved us the shipping, ofcoarse they sold it, so i had to settle for a 360 without an extra controller, no big deal, but it would be nice to have another controller, especially if i ordered it.

BS. He ordered the game with the expectation of receiving the free guide. If the guide is not included he is getting less than what he paid for.

Agreed because he could have at least recieved 10% off if he bought the guide with the game at gamestop ... but now he has to get charged full price because BB screwed him.

Here's how it is; his order was Platinum with a strategy guide for free.
The order did not come with the guide. Therefore, his order is incomplete. Regardless if the guide is free and he didn't pay extra, his order was supposed to include an item that it did not come with.

What states? They changed that policy in November as I previously mentioned.
Well, you have better luck than I do. Several times I have ordered something online for in-store pickup only to have my order "cancelled" the next morning. I then immediately went to the store and found the items sitting on the shelf. This has happened the last 3 times I have tried to do a pickup order. It's fucking ridiculous. They don't even try.

I had this happen once. They sent me a confirmation that the item was available and then I went to the store to pick it up. Cashier took my confirmation and told me, "Oh yeah, we have them back here I'll be right back." She couldn't find it, but didn't flat out tell me that she couldn't. She went to the other rep working at the counter and I heard her softly tell the one who was helping me, "Oh, they were all stolen earlier in the week by one of our employees, just tell him that and send him on his way." She came back and told me that, and I raised holy hell. It's not MY fault YOUR employees cleaned you out. I got a manager over and argued my way to a $10 giftcard to cover my gas for driving there.

the policy is that once an order comes in the guys in the back, not a floor associate, goes to the floor and tries to find the item only asking for assistance when the item can not be found out back or on the floor in its areas. after finding the item and placing it at the customer service counter are they supposed to send confirm the order in the system and then once this is completed the confirmation email sends out. i have heard of either lazy employees or retarded customer service reps. around here they usually offer some sort of reconciliation, whether it be a gift card or offer to find a copy in a district store. the system can be manipulated to find the item in anystore in the company. i know i have done it.
