Just to let people know, the last time they ran this sale, it took a couple of months for GITS S1 to show up, as it was backordered, though not when I ordered it. GITS S2 showed up pretty quickly after the order was placed.

May not be the case this time around, though just keep that in mind.

OOOOOOO Why are you tempting me. I just saw these on my NetFlix instant watch so that's what's keeping me from getting it, but I have a feeling I'm going to bite. Saving $140ish sounds pretty sweet to me.

Individual cases with a box to hold them all. The box for the first set is really cheap and terrible, but the second box is of much higher quality with a neat magnetic flap.

Should I return my Anime Legends clamshell of Stand Alone Complex 1? Or is there no big difference in the sets, other than it being more nicer than the clamshell. I may return it just so I can get 2nd gig with this deal. And what are everyone's thoughts about the other anime? In particular, Noein. I've always wanted to see it, and 12.50 (assuming I find another 25 dollar boxset) sounds like the right price to try it out.

EDIT: Screw it, I'm gonna order Noein I think. I can't find anything else, so I'm gonna order two of them. If someone is in the same predicatment as me, PM me. Of course, this probably would really only work out best locally to avoid shipping charges and Paypal fees.

Edit: Damn, gig 1 is out of stock and so is Noein. Placed the order anyway, it'll give me time to read reviews and think about the purchases anyway.

Noein is strange but pretty good. It throws alot of techno jargin at you, but it's very original and worth watching. The animation style of the characters isn't the prettiest though.

Are the two Ghost in the shell boxsets in widescreen or fullscreen? It says fullscreen in the descriptions but I wanted to be sure.

Also, it looks like the 1st season of GitS is OoS already. If I order now, will they honor the sale or will they just charge me full for the one available?

The anime is more true to the manga than the movies were, IMO. As far as I'm concerned, SAC > GitS 2 > GitS 1.

I'd say go for it. The plot makes more sense than the movies, you get to see more of the characters, and it's very, very well put together.
