I'm trying to figure out whether or not I *need* to worry about thermal paste. I found a video on youtube where the kid did a variation of the fix, and he just let the thermal paste that was already on the GPU melt and cool after the fix was installed.

Definately bother putting on new thermal paste. It will keep it a lot cooler.

I dunno about yours, but when I opened my friends box up, there was just goop everywhere from the thermal paste and that definately wasn't keeping the CPU/GPU cool. Use some Ether to clean all of that goop off, and then apply some new paste.

That being said, the ultimate x-clamp fix didn't work for me. Well it hasn't yet anyway. I am still working on it.

No. He definately isn't. cmart has been registered for like 6 months before Kayden got banned, and plus he donated to Child's Play.

Even if Kayden had an alt account laying around, why the hell would he donate to Child's Play with it? Especially when he didn't even donate with his main account.

The X-clamps are what hold the heatsinks secure against the CPU and GPU. So yes, it should fix that issue.

Mine is programed to specifically to the right inpput. So My TV is on HDMI1 while my 363/ps3 are on a splitter to HDMI3

Thus, when I setup my harmony remote for xbox, it turns it on, sets my splitter to channel 3, and my tv to HDMI3.

Have you gone into the advanced options when setting up your remote? You can customize almost anything and specify how your regular remote works so it can know how to switch to the correct input. For mine, I had to set a signal delay so it would switch the input after the TV turned on, as my remote was trying to switch input before the TV was on.

If not, look into that. It should fix any issues you have.

Can't speak for receiver though, my receiver only switches between digital inputs (optical 1 and 2) and it can't be switched by remote, so I do that manually).

USB cable is a standard mini-USB 2.0 cable and you don't want to use the software on the install CD since much newer firmware is available on the web.
