Is the Creative Zen Xtra any good? That is a damn good price for a 30gb player. Also, i'm not at all familiar with mp3 players, does it have am/fm radio?

Basket I'm thinking the same thing, looks really good. Seems people on newegg like it a lot too...

I think this is also a good deal, despite the fact that it's refurbished:

RCA Lyra 40 GB

I'm 99.9% sure the Zen Xtra doesn't have a radio, and that there's only 2 or 3 mp3 players that actually have an am tuner.

I have never heard of that RCA one before, but it seems decent.

No. FM tuners on mp3 players are only decent at best, and you'll have better luck finding them on flash players.

Thanks for the info. An fm tuner isn't that important since i have another small radio i can use when i listen to Kevin and Bean on KROQ.

You can pick up the RCA Lyra at the Amazon marketplace for $179.00 refurbed. RCA Lyra-Amazon Marketplace (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00009QSET/002-8032734-6433619)

Creative's MP3 players have very good sound reproduction. I've got a Muvo2 and I think it's great (even though I'm not much of a HD based MP3 guy). Can't go wrong with a Zen. Never tried the RCA so I can't comment on that.

While I like the radio, I don't find myself listening to it much (on my iRiver) at all. To each his own though.

Thanks for all the suggestions. So far I'm likein the $150 Muvo since that is more in my price range and I am only using about 3.5 GB on my current 20 GB player but that 40 GB RCA looks damn tempting. Especially tempting considering its $180 price tag. (still very pheasible)

I dont think that youll need an AM/FM radio if you have 30GB to store music on, unless you just dont go to bed for like 3 days at least.
