I might bite on the deal if I can use the Tropic Thunder coupon... hmm... what to match it with though.

WOW how long has it been since Target had a BOGO? A year now? Looking to pick up Transporter 3 and Indiana Jones. Not a bad deal 15 each...

By the way...Target only now carries 2 Disc Editions now days. At all my nearby stores I have only seen 2 Disc Editions. They might just have them backstock. Make sure to ask. :-D

Disneyboy
03-31-2009, 12:32 AM
I've been thinking about this, and what Target will probably do is mark down both titles to $15 on the receipt. So if we use the $10 off coupon, then it would be one title for $5 and another for $15, I think that would work.

The only difference between the 2 and 3 disc is the digital copy for iPod/computers. Unless if you really are interested in that then the 2 disc will do you just fine.

Pasted on certain copies of the Eagle Eye DVD and Blu-Ray. Takes $10 off Tropic Thunder, Transformers, Cloverfield, Sleepy Hollow, and some others on blu-ray. It also takes $5 off some DVDs.

I don't believe so. You can find them at stores on the Eagle Eye cases.

Is there a coupon for Wall-E? where, where?

There isn't that I know of, what I meant was that I already bought Tropic Thunder & Transformers using the coupon on Eagle Eye so I'll probably pick up Caspian and maybe Wall-E or Iron Man.

Iron Man is the one that I really want but with CA tax, each title would come out to $16.23, which isn't much of a savings over what Amazon and Target both normally charge ($16.99).

I really, really have to know whether Amazon will match this.

Can you just go pick the titles up now, then get your monies back when the sale begins? You'd do a return and rebuy on the items in question, so I don't see this being an issue, as it's less than 14 days from the date of purchase.

They may give you the stink eye over it, as they don't do PMing, which is essentially what you're doing. No reason they should deny it.

I hope they mark it down to $15 for each movie in the transaction. If they ring up one with $29.99 and $0.00 for 2nd title, then using two of the $10 off coupon might be a problem. Anyone know how it works such as previous Target BOGO promotion? Which way does it ring up? Thanks in advance :)

Arrested Development Season 1-3 - 12.99 each
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 1 & 2 - 12.99 each

18.99 each:

2 & 1/2 Men Season 1-4

"Season 4" doesn't even start airing until September.

This is right.

Season 1 (Fall 2006 and Spring 2007) = "Volume 1"
Season 2 (Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 - shortened due to writer's strike) = "Volume 2"
Season 3 (Fall 2008) = "Volume 3"
Season 3 (Spring 2009) = "Volume 4"

Season 4 (Fall 2009) will presumably be made up of Volume 5 and Volume 6.

You thought so? I got my kicks out of the violence and gore, but I thought it was pretty bad overall. I really enjoyed the first one more. Thomas Jane seemed like a much better Punisher than Ray Stevenson. I also thought that Jigsaw was an absolute joke too. Terrible acting IMO.

I don't think I'd do the deal and pick up that one.

I have to disagree guys...I thought Stevenson was the perfect pick for the Punisher. The film was very true to the comics, and had some great action. Jigsaw was a little cheesy as opposed to more insane in the comics, but I definitely enjoyed it. I mean, I enjoyed the Thomas Jane one too...and hell, I still love the Dolph one too.

Perhaps I'm just the Punisher's bitch...

I was going to pick up a couple of Blu-rays but ened up getting all three seasons of "How I met your Mother" and "Family Guy Volume Six", plus like 5-6 of those $6.99 DVD's for my 18 month olds easter basket.

Well, I got Transporter 3 and Body of Lies because I was going to rent Body of Lies but bought it since I like movies that make you think. I'm happy with Transporter 3 since I bought the first & second one for the same 15 buck price also.

Darn...bought Tropic Thunder yesterday and Transformers I had. Was planning to buy Eagle Eye and Kung Fu Panda this morning.... is it possible to still take advantage of the coupon if I bring Tropic thunder and the receipt back (even if opened) and get $10 off? Would they still give me credit or too late?

Couldn't find the coupon on Eagle Eye so I went with my original choices, Iron Man and Wall-E. I've wanted both for awhile, so $15 each seemed good to me. Honestly... that's what they should be when they come out, they'd sell a lot more movies if that were the case.

My stores still have many copies. Went back today to see if I can get the "Eagle Eye" $10.00 off coupon, take back the two I got yesterday and see if I can get $10 credit for Tropic Thunder and see if I can get $10 credit.

Unfortunately, "Eagle Eye" didn't come with a $10 off coupon. I did utilize these for the Wal-Mart two-packs two months ago but the "Eagle Eyes" at our Target store didn't have the coupon (the one stuck on the front cover) on any of them. So, I figured maybe it's inside, so I bought "Eagle Eye" and "Kung Fu Panda"...but nada on coupon inside.

Oh, well...B1G1...can't complain.

The prices on Amazon dropped to match these titles just now... sigh now for a return trip to Target.

Transporter 3
Bangkok Dangerous
Kung-Fu Panda
Madagascar 2 - Escape 2 Africa
Body of Lies
Punisher - War Zone

are $14.99 on Amazon

Didn't check the other ones but those are the ones I just bought from Target... and checked on Amazon.

Picked up Wall-E and Punisher, and an "as-is" copy of No Reservations for my woman. It has been there FOREVER, but I got them to drop it from $21.01 to $14.78 8-)

I don't have to pay tax, and I get bonus points from buying stuff from Amazon with the Amazon.com Visa card. It's pretty much my incentive to always get stuff from Amazon.

I saw No Reservations the other day... that movie makes you incredibly hungry.

Figured if I was going to bring the receipt back to see if I can get credit, they may ask if I had the two BD's. So brought them back just in case. But none of the "Eagle Eyes" had the $10 off coupon. But again, can't complain. I used the EE coupon several times during the Wal-Mart two pack sale. So, it's all good.

sorry a little off topic but...ive read on several forums and een amazon.com that disney has some kind of packaging problem with wall-e. some are saying this disc(s) dont work (3 dsc set) and some are saying that they get TWO DISC ONE copies (not a disc one and a disc 2). ALSO, many r saying that there is no code for the digital copy. disney has acknowleged the problem but have yet to "fix" it.

im wondering for those who bought wall-e at target, did u have this problem??? i do not want to go through this trouble so would rather wait or not buy wall-e at all. i really just bought it because of the BOGO but seein how amazon PM, i probably will just get kung fu panda there if this is a reoccurring problem with wall-e. thanks in advance for any feedback

Hm, I'm srsly contemplating Transporter 3 and Punisher WZ from amazon (no tax fsss).

Also, Amazon is PM'ing almost all the Target B1G1s including Narnia Prince Caspian (2 disc), and Indiana Jones 4. I dunno why Eagle Eye isn't in there, though.

Easy to happen given the city location fuck up of that area around Northtown.

Northtown Mall itself (along with BBY) = Blaine
Office Depo/Dennys area with the now RIP Circuit City = Coon Rapids
Wal-Mart = Fridley

Its like they couldn't decide on what city the area should be fully so they split the area up between the three cities. I know its not a big deal to most people on this but I can't help but to think of a common phrase that the AVGN would say to this....

"What we're they thinking?"

Hah, very true.

But after finally watching Kung Fu Panda I would say that while Dreamworks isn't as consistent, they definitely can put out a film is in the same league as Pixar. I liked it every bit as much as I did Wall-E, but for different reasons.

It seems obvious to side with Pixar over Dreamworks every time...

But I actually enjoyed Kung Fu Panda a lot! It did a superb job in transmitting both Chinese mythology and Shaw Bros. chop-socky, all with a great sense of humor. There's no real depth to the movie but it never pretends otherwise. I think it's the first Dreamworks production that I can say is truly good.

Wall-E was an impeccable silent film for its first act. (The sound design alone makes the film worth watching!) Once the humans entered the picture, however, my love for the film began to fade. I believe very much in being green, but Wall-E is the first Pixar film to feel a bit ham-fisted with its message (something I didn't even feel about Cars).

Wall-E is a good movie in spite of that feeling, but I wish its praise didn't have to come at the expense of Kung Fu Panda, which deserves commendation of its own.

It's like Jack Black said at the Oscars, he has a very successful way of making money with animated films. He makes one Dreamworks movie a year, and on Oscar night, he takes the money from the Dreamworks pic, and bets it all on Pixar to win the Oscar.

I admit I also prefer Kung Fu Panda to Wall-E.. Wall-E is the better film but I can't see myself watching it over and over again. Its like Slumdog Millionaire, I watch it once and thats it..It won best picure/director/etc.. but I'd rather watch Tropic Thunder over and over than watch Slumdog again.
