Just in case anyone was planning on it, I wouldn't recommend buying YesMan, it was a mess. It had a few moments, so I'd recommend a rental, but no more. Might pick up one or two of those other ones though.

Its like every other Jim Carrey film. Ive had it for about a week now. It was pretty painful to watch.

The only plus side is Zooey Daschnel or whatever her name is.. SOOO HOT.

Nah, he's done better stuff. Liar Liar was a movie that Yes Man was commonly allusioned to, but it was far better directed. Yes Man had some funny and enjoyable moments, but it had the directing of a 4th grader pumped up on Capri Sun.

Fully agree on Zooey Deschanel

Here's also hoping for a Despereaux coupon, otherwise it isn't worth buying.
Hrmm free lunch box with the regular DVD version of Desereaux (http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?p=1779252), not :br:?

Yes.. Apparently "low definition" is utter garbage to the Blu Rays.
Man, I wonder how BB is going to beat Target this week.

Yeah, what's with posting just the blu-ray prices? It's appreciated, but I also buy standard dvds as well. I typed up most of the Target standard dvd deals to add to the target thread with the hopes the OP would add them but no dice. Target just had too good of an ad this upcoming week for the deals to go unannounced.

If it's the original Day The Earth Stood Still, it would be worth it.

The remake, no way in heck.

The original film comes with the new remake, at least at Best Buy. So it's $16 for two movies really.

Agreed. I used to be a Jim Carrey fan a long time ago, but he's just a bit too silly for me. He's just too obnoxious to watch any more.

There are some HBO shows that are on sale. Just the first season though.

Entourage - $17
Sopranos - $25
The Wire - $25

I might have to pick up The Wire. Heard great things about the show.

This.

I'm rewatching the series for the 4th time now, and it's still amazing.

I picked up Carnivale for 17.49. Pretty good deal considering the MSRP is more than 34.99 IIRC.

Got my bluray copy of The Day Earth Stood Still w/ the free Gort figure and I must say, the figure is probably the best freebie figurine I've ever gotten. Its high quality and quite heavy.

Did you happen to get the Blu-Ray? Amazon has a best value savings thing that saves $5 off the original movie, but I thought the original was included with the Blu-Ray along with a Digital Copy for 3 discs?

SakBee

Yea, I got the bluray. It's three discs: Disc 1 is the 2008 movie, Disc 2 is the Digital Copy, Disc 3 is the 1951 copy.

I just got done watching the 2008 version and it's not the greatest movie, but certainly not the worst either. It kept my attention the whole time and was able to stay awake so overall, a decent average film.

Now one more question the 1951 movie came out in a separate BR release I believe and people said it had special features. Does this copy include that disc, or is it a barebones BR release with the movie only?

no extras for the old version unless you buy the standalone release
