I searched but couldnt find a thread on this game. Am I to assume I am the only one excited for this?

It looks pretty fun in my opinion and it coming at the right time beacuse I am hurting for games.

Someone on Gamefaqs who already has the game posted that the game can be beaten in under 10 hours and that after you've beaten the game you cannot keep playing, unlike the first Godfather game. Looks like a rental to me.

If that's true, then that's a deal breaker for me, loved playing the first Godfather after I had beaten it.

I was really excited for this game. Then no Wii version was announced and I pretty much lost all interest. I'll get it when it hits the bargain bin.

I am hearing a lot of mixed things about the game so I am not going to get it for a while (that and I dont have money like that) so we will see.

I like it so far. It's kind of like GTA, but more like the first game. Graphics aren't that great, but not bad either. I'm having fun with it, but I haven't played it that much to write a review, nor played online yet, but I like it.

I've been watching the Red vs Blue achievement hunter videos on it, looks pretty average to me. I think it got a 4/5 on Eurogamer.

Does anyone know how to fire a crew member to open a spot for a new recruit? I recruited the crappy doctor and then figured out how to unlock Cipolla from my pre-order. I can't get rid of the doctor to hire Cipolla.

Any thoughts?

BTW, so far the game is pretty awesome.

I think you have to murder him yourself. Go to where it shows your family tree in the menu and see if there is a way to "mark him for death" under his options.

Yeh, i just figured it out.

For anyone on the fence about this game...

It is very similar to GF I. The game is more focused on taking over and extorting businesses than it is with a storyline mode. The storyline consists of you as don taking out family rivals and taking over their businesses. Unlike GF I, the storyline isn't a mission based quest.

Bottom line, I paid a full $60 and I feel I have gotten my money's worth so far. The game feels less repetitive than GF I. It looks great, but the driving sucks.

Three hours in and I'm enjoying the blend of action and strategy. It took a while to get accustomed to all the things you could do as a Don when I first landed in NY. I seem to be spending all my earnings paying guards. Then again, I just have about 4 establishments that bring me money. Hopefully there are a lot more places that you can take over that aren't on the map as of yet.

Some questions:

1. Does the game keep track of the executions you perform and give you bonuses for performing them (like in GF I)? If so, where do you look it up?

2. How do you upgrade your own weapons?

3. Is there a way to make the gps give you a line to your location on the little circle? When I mark a location, a little blue flag sets up, but there is no GPS directional to the actual flag.

So would anyone here say that it's worth buying? I love the sand box genre so I don't see myself not like this game...

I picked it up and I am enjoying it.

But the game isnt that great....its above average but not great. You can do a ton as a Don and there is a decent about of tactics you an employ making the game more complex than your standard shoot everything sandbox game.

I just wish things where more tied together. I dont understand why you seemingly just walk up to random people on the street to get jobs rather than 1 guy give you tons of them ala GTA. It really annoys me that 99% of everyone in the city is apparently a-ok with having people murdered and or killed. Other than that its enjoyable it just could be better.

Also, what the hell are the blue icons I keep running across? It looks like a bottle on the floor but I cant pick it up.

I just finished my 1000/1000 on this, and I must admit, this game really redeemed itself in the second and third acts.

I know I stated in an above post the game was lacking storyline, and in the first act, that is true. However, after you move to Florida, the storylines (all from the movie, and done from a unique perspective, much like the horse mission in the first GF game) pick up and keep the game from getting stale.

I really have to recommend this game to any GTA, open world, or Godfather fan out there. If you enjoyed the first game, GFII improves upon the basic structure of the original, and is well worth any current price tag.

I paid a full $60 for the game, and at about 16 hours of single player and unlimited multiplayer, that seems like a fair price.

For anyone wondering, here is a helpful list of where the crew members with advanced/expert gun licenses and two or more abilities are:

Alvin Uzzano: Northeast of Richie's Tavern, New York. He is a Safecracker/Medic with an Advanced Gun License. 


Bernard Uzzano: Inside or near the large crypt closest to the north of the hangout of Almeida capo Jaime Fesser at Goldenrest Cemetery, Florida. He is a Bruiser/Medic with an Advanced Gun License. 


Jimmy Lira: Unknown (requires bonus downloadable content). He is an Arsonist/Medic/Safecracker/Engineer. 


Leroy Petriboni: Las Palmas, Florida. At the "Jersey's Sports Bar", gambling crime ring on the southernmost island. Approach the building from the east to find a door to a small room. He can be found wandering inside and just outside of that room. He is a Safecracker/Engineer with Expert Gun License.

Ray Fogliano: On top of building across from Corman's Drive-In, Florida. He is on the rooftop nearest to the Corrupt Official Joey Katz. He is an Arsonist/Demolitions. 


Ray Ricci: In the square between Casino Imperial and capitol in Cuba. He is a Demolitions/Engineer with an Expert Gun License.

Roy Mancini: At the airport in Corazon de Oro, Cuba, next to the second plane, behind the Battaglia Cement Factory. He is a Bruiser/Engineer with a Expert Gun License. 


Tommy Cipolla: Corleone Compound, New York (pre-order code required). He is an Arsonist/Medic.
