Ripped from Fatwallet. Posted by Fathead316.

"Not sure if this is a system wide error, or an actual sale. Let me show you what I did, and how it rang up. First time, so go easy on me. Just trying to help.

1 MS Xbox $149.99
1 Star Wars KOTOR Game $19.99

PKG Saving -$49.99

Total, before Tax $119.99."

What does PKG saving mean?

Please explain.

I would venture it stands for 'Package'.

Either that or it's a mispelling of PKE and the Ghostbusters have some deal worked out with CC.

That might mean the packaging is damaged. There is a store here in town that apparently has Xboxes for $99, DVD Kits for $5 and PC games for $5, all because the packaging was damaged. This is, of course, a rumor... but I'm going to go check it out right now.

Well, when Kotor was $50 didnt they have a package deal where you could get it free with a purchase fo an x-box. I dunno. That was my thinking. That an old bundle is still in the system or has accidentally been reactivated. And now that KOTOR is $20, it still subtracts $50 from the price when entered.

They've asked for a scan of his receipt at FW but he hasn't posted one yet.

There is a deal right now where you get KOTOR for free with Xbox. I'm guessing they have the wrong discount applied. It should have been Xbox and game for $149.

Yeah. I just bought this at circuit city today and paid $149 with the free KOTOR.

Wow, I just finished KOTOR on my PC last night, what an awesome game. I'm debating whether to sink another 35 hours into doing it light side, but w/ KOTOR2 and the multitude of other games coming this winter I probably shouldn't. But I dunno, Fable doesn't seem that hot after KOTOR...

I just bought an Xbox at walmart on Tuesday to replace my broke one... If this is the case I will be returning it.

Edit: Just called my local CC and the deal is the game is free with the Xbox at $149.99. Since I already have the game it is no big deal I guess.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. If the KOTOR bundle is in their system as a $50 savings, then it will subtract $50 from the total regardless of what the actual price is. I doubt my CC will have made this mistake, but it's a pretty sweet deal if you can get lucky enough to take advantage of it. Though hopefully there will be an official Xbox price drop soon, I wanna pick up a second one to mod it.

My guess is KOTOR would probably have to be the non-ph version, probably something to do with having two different KOTOR versions causes the computer to subtract $50 instead of $20.

I read the thread on FW.

You need to have the game scanned 1st and then have the Xbox system scanned for it to deduct the $50. It will probably be fixed by tomorrow though if it isn't already corrected by now.
