Hey there guys, I was hoping someone might help me peg the name of a rather obscure(at least to me) title. I only played it once back at the old "nickel city" arcade a good 15 years or so ago, and although I remember hardly anything about the game I do recall having a total blast playing it.
The game was a street brawler in the same vane as double dragon, final fight, etc. I don't think it was an open-world game, but I remember there was a good deal more freedom than DD, there was alot more room for you to move around. I would say it was probably from the late 80s, and I think there was quite a bit of weapons you could pick up and use.
Anyone got an idea?

Haha that game looks interesting but that's not it... the sprites in the game I'm thinking of were smaller, and the levels were zoomed out a bit more. I would almost say it was like paperboy-esque viewpoint.

Combatribes was a damn good game but you started losing life when you started playing. I hated that.
Ha, i got it mixed up. It was Crime Fighters. Thanx Halo05 for the link.

I'm pretty sure the game was a bit old and probably not well recieved, if I recall correctly it was crammed way back in the "free play section" far away from all the popular games(mainly killer instinct at the time, that game had LINES). On another note, do those nickel city arcades still exist? I don't know if it was a chain or what but the one I would go to was in San Diego.

My understanding of Nickle City was that it was a small chain, and it was partially sponsored by Capcom (at least in later years). So there is a good chance it was a capcom title.

Man, I used to love the Nickel City arcades.
Only thing I can think of is Crime Fighters.

I loved Crime Fighters. Wasted about $5 with a cousin at pizza place years ago, this was when new games were one quarter. There is a Nickel City in Whittier, CA.

I don't think the graphics were that good, so that probably means it was made before '89.
