View Full Version : Just got a DSi, need some simple cheap games for it

I work in a call center. I bought Viva Pinata, Ispy, Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir, and Soul Bubbles last night. Probably going to get Animal Crossing but looking for some games under 20 that are fun but I can put down at the spur of the moment and don't really have to get too involved in.
On another site I have been recommend Picross which I am ordering, and Meteo which I am thinking about. I all ready have N+ on PSP.
Also how is Cooking Mama on DS? Should I just spring extra for the 2nd?

Seconding Puzzle Quest and Picross. I'll also throw in some good pick-up-and-play titles from GameStop's GameDays sale:
Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution
Anno 1701 (Not part of the GameDays sale, but it's under $20 used)
Bleach Dark Souls (Really, only if you're a fan of the Bleach series, but it's an all-around solid fighter)
Metal Slug 7
N+
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Or Lego Indiana Jones, depending on what you're a fan of)
Final Fantasy Tactics A2

I am going to order puzzle quest and probably tactics 2. My girlfriend got professor layton. Any decent games like that I can pick up?

Those are all fun $20 games, and I've probably missed plenty others.

FFT2 is in no way pick up and play! Game is terribly long and you can literally play for hours and accomplish nothing but a few crappy sidequests and pointless level ups. Sonic Rush, Kirby, lost magic (hard but uses the stylus a lot which is somewhat interesting)...all cheap and decent.

Elite Beat Agents - songs are old but great game and should be like $10 somewhere
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - I didn't want to believe hype but got cheap at CC and love it

Not sure if it's $20, but Mario Kart and New Super Mario Bros are 2 definite pick-ups.
Those games are freaking $40 used around here. I'm not sure who the hell is actually paying those prices.

I picked up True Swing Golf at gamestop for $5, it's an older game but blows away any other golf game on the ds.
Search Craigslist for Tetris DS. I am picking up a copy today for $15.
