If this should go in the deals request forum or somewhere please feel free to move it.
I know I totally missed the bandwagon on this one but I have a resurgence in wanting to get some of those bit Generations games for the GBA. Anybody know where to get them? Tons of places list them but they are all out of stock, save a few here and there.
In particular, these are the ones I'm most interested in:
dotstream
dialhex
coloris
orbital
Thanks!

Have you checked ebay? A quick search turned up most of those games at fairly "reasonable" prices. This late in the game, you're not going to get great deals seeing as these games are out of print. Short of visiting Japan and hunting around the used game stores, you're pretty much out of luck. Sorry. :(

strangely enough, two of these (I dont remember which) are sitting at my local Gamecrazy. They took them in as something else, since its clearly not in the system. Off the top of my head, they are either 9.99 or 14.99. Just the cartridges.
Other than that, yea, its ebay

I guess I should run by the local gamestop or something on the off chance they have some- although I would prefer to have a complete copy with box.
I guess I initially wrote off ebay due to the overwhelming presence of bootleg GBA carts (has anyone ever encountered a bootleg bit Generations cart?). Also it is usually a big hassle for me to buy things from ebay since I do not have a verified paypal account, which cuts out probably like 85%+ of all auctions. I guess I'll just have to balance my desire for the games with the hassle of getting the account verified (my CC billing address is different than my residence address).
A few of the internet sites I've seen have listed the games in stock. But they are clearly not common or big-name stores. Would you trust them? For example: www.japanvideogames.com. They at least seem legit because they are a B&M store in CA (or at least claim to be- they have a picture of their store on the website) but I sent an email asking them to verify that they have them in stock to be sure.

Woah. I just got matched up for 2 of 6 games on Goozex a day after putting them in the list. I expect the others arent too far behind.

Some are much easier to get than others. You matched for Dialhex, one of the longer-running available titles from PlayAsia when they their amazing sale on these a year or two back.
See that one copy of Dotream "on hold"? That's mine :) I won't be letting it go for 350 points, though. I always thought it would go higher, but I guess the ultra-low demand for these titles on Goozex have put a freeze on the price. Traded a total of zero times, and will probably stay that way until Nintendo wises up and releases all 6 on a DS compilation cart.
Congrats on the two matches, though.
BTW: If you get them without their cute little mini-boxes, you're missing out on half the fun/experience.

Yeah I was going to say- I just put in all the bit Generations titles on Goozex and while I am at or near the front of the line, I suspect that it will be a looong while before getting one of the packages because of the low supply. I think it might be a good route for me though for the ones I don't care so much about, like Soundvoyager. It would be interesting to mess around with it, but not for $25. Whereas dotstream or digihex I would pay for because it looks like a game I'd actually get a lot out of.

Soundvoyager is my favorite BG game (although I haven't played them all :bomb:) and even my favorite GBA game. You're not going to find another game like it. And if you do, please tell me, because I love Soundvoyager.
Also, Nintendo released Orbital and I think one or two others in WiiWare for a cheap price.

I agree, Soundvoyager is probably my #1 or #2 Bit Generations game. The other one being Digidrive.

I still see most of the Bit Generation games fairly cheap over here in Japan (around $15-20 each).
I may be willing to help you guys out, but not until mid-May at the earliest because I am BROKE.

The other title is Dialhex, sort of. I never played the original, but I understand there are slight differences maybe?
They need to get to work on porting some more b.G to WW.

What's the deal with SoundVoyager? Are you supposed to only listen and not look? I've watched Youtube videos including the official commercial, and it just doesn't really explain itself.

Yup:
Soundvoyager is intended to be played using sound only, without looking at the console's screen. The game involves players trying to center a dot on a side scrolling stage on top of an invisible target by only using sounds from the left and right speakers to guide them.
This made the game sound (lolololol) the most interesting to me out of all of them.

It's very chill, and all but like two of the levels can probably be beat on your first try. The relaxing nature of the game makes it very easy to fall asleep so I play it exclusively before I go to bed. Being a GBA game, there's not enough content to do that all the time, but every now and then I go back to it.
You can look, but unless it's the first level in a genre (sound voyage, chase, cock , and a few more) you won't see anything helpful to playing. It's controlled with only left and right or L and R (for playing with the screen out of sight) and it's an awesome game.

Man this would be sweet, would you seriously buy some and ship it over, providing of course I sent you the money? If I got a few at one time then the shipping would make it about the same as buying from US stores/ebay.

P.S. re: soundvoyager- yeah it is an interesting premise. the Youtube videos were misleading to me at first because I was like "you can see the targets" but I realized they slowly faded out leaving tou only to use the sound. Unfortunately I think that the Youtube video's sound was mono and not stereo because I couldn't hear any stereo separation in the video.

Haha, you probably have better ears than I do.

In this case, Youtube videos or even verbal descriptions can't do the game justice. You really have to try it yourself. I'm not one to advocate piracy, but an emulator is a good way to "try before you buy," especially on some more "risky" import games.
One of my favorite stages is a "slalom." Similar to a ski slalom, you have to zig-zag through gates and get to the end. In Soundvoyager, the left/right gates beep alternately. If you hear beeping on the left, you know you have to move left. Vice versa for the right. If you hear the beeps alternating in your left and right ear, then you know you're centered on the gate. Since the game is completely aural and not visual, it's quite a mind trip.

Maybe. The only voyage level I found difficult was the first one. I remember being so disappointed when I got the game on sale from Play-Asia for like $15 and thinking it was going to be awesome, and then losing very badly at the very beginning.

This was one of the levels I had a lot of difficulty with. The first one was cutting it close, and the second (is there a third?) I kept losing on.
