Yes thouse are Fakes I made. I found some sprites online and I copy pasted them with some other sprites and stage art I found. The Box art thou is all mine!

I was working late last night. And was pretty board because all I was doing was buring and putting lables on CDs. So I had JLU on and I got to think about the idea of Capcom doing a DC vs Capcom game now that EA has the rights to Marvel.
Truth be told I have been getting tunred away more and more from Marvel. The only things that I have been reading now is Captain America and Elektra.
While on the DC side I've been getting into more and more of the series.
We all know of the 3 major heroes Batman, Wonderwoman and Superman. But there are hundreds of others that can easly be put into a DC vs Capcom Game. I really think Capcom should look into doing something like this. Marvel vs Capcom was a huge hit. Why stop just because EA has the rights to Marvel. DC is just as good.

I don't remember were I read it, but it was said by the guys at DC behind the Batman comic that the only superhero they thought that could actualy beat Batman, even if Batman had planned for it, is Captain America

I don't think that a DC verses Marvel fighting game would work, DC characters have always been more powerful, Marvel has always been more personal.

Batman knows how to Kill Superman, and he has fought him on a number of occasions. Infact Batman knows how to fight and kill every member of the JL, he takes it apnea himself to know how to take them all down incase any of them ever go rouge.

Oh and I just found out WonderWoman has also fought Superman too.

First off, Batman has beat Superman in the past. Its because Superman's heart isn't in it. Batman fights to win, Superman doesn't want to hurt his friend so he holds back just enough for Batman to beat him. Or at least that is my take on it.
And there was a crossover between Marvel and DC a while back. They had a few fights, but eventually they worked together to defeat a common enemy.

uh.. first and foremost, there's no way that batgirl (cassandra) could take on supes. there really is no question to that.

batman, however, IS up for debate. given a certain amount of preparation and access to resources, he COULD beat superman, but keep in mind that he never actually went head to head with superman and beat him. he knows how to take out the JLA, sure. but let's talk more detail...

first of all, batman didn't use the red kryptonite himself, he just created it. some ra's al ghul goon used it, and it caught superman by surprise. if batman is allowed to prepare for this fight, then so is superman. if i were superman, i would know my weakness, and there's no way i would even come close to batman, assuming he would have access to kryptonite. i can fly, i've got super-breath, i've got laser eyes... i don't need to go up to him in hand to hand combat.

so next scenario: no preparation. just spur of the moment throw-down. come on now. batman can't even hurt him. or even touch him.

in dark knight returns, batman schools superman at the end, but that was ONLY after superman was blasted by a huge fucking nuclear missile. PLUS batman had help. PLUS batman planned, whereas superman was still reeling from the blast.

i won't even reference that piece of crap "dark knight strikes again" because frank miller had an agenda beyond writing a good batman story. he seriously intentionally wrote a crappy story because dc would not stop hassling him, and not to mention it was way too biased towards batman.


with all that being said, your altered "screenshots" were pretty awesome. you should do some more... how about deathstroke vs. dante? or booster gold vs. viewtiful joe?

Gladiator is easily on par w/ Superman's level considering his only weakness is based on his confidence i.e. only as strong as he thinks he is - I would love to see a knockdown bare knuckle fight between those two. On the Batman note, if you wanted to make it fairer, why not go the Iron Man route and put ol' Bats in a suit. Bruce is not above using tech to increase his advantage in combat. I think it would work. As an aside, you could also include Azrael as Psycho-Batman as a hidden character. Geez! I want this to be real even more now!

This would be a fun game, but DC would probably never license its characters to Capcom. In the past, they took care of their licenses in-house with Warner Bros. Interactive and I think they do license their properties to other developers now, but they seem to have pretty tight restrictions on who they hand them out to. They have to find a developer that will undoubtedly make a piece-of-crap game with it. Think about it: Superman 64, Batman: Rize of Sin Tzu and Vengeance... AQUAMAN! None of those were good. DC vs. Marvel would rule (and would work better than vs. Capcom IMO) but all the publishers' exclusive licenses get in the way so that won't happen for now, but i think it can be done. A lil' over 5 years ago. no one woulda thought a Capcom vs. SNK game would ever happen and we got 4 fighting and 2 card games out of it. keep your fingers crossed.

That's the exact case in Batman: Hush w/ art by Jim Lee and story by Jeph Loeb (i think) and of course Batman, always the 'boy scout' (always prepared) brings his kryptonite ring to hand Supes his butt. As for Batgirl, I believe that she can take Superman in a martial arts contest since Supes is all power and Cassandra's nimble and quick... but if Clark can manage only one blow then the game's over. I don't think she's as tactical as Batman is. The way she fights is more intuitive rather preparation. If any DC fans can remember, even Batman acknowledged that she was the only one who ever beat Shiva on equal terms (the World's Finest issue where Bats kicks Shiva's butt doesn't count since Shiva was mindcontrolled and therefore 'not utilized to her full potential')

I believe Dark Knight Returns is the only "real" time Batman has defeated Superman and that Superman actually accepted as a defeat. Though I still don't like it cause Green Arrow intervened. I think realistically, in any Superman VS Batman debate, its best put in the way Green Arrow said in the last issue of Identity Crisis, in the end Batman is only human. In a fair fight, it wouldn't be fair cause its a human vs a super being. Adding Kryptonite to the mix wouldn't be fair, its like beating a man when he's down. Though if Superman were stripped of his powers and it was him against Batman, hands down Batman would win. Superman is more of a brawler compared to Batman's tactical skills and training. Though different stories/arcs/series could provide different results.

On the who's stronger between Marvel VS DC, DC usually gets the shaft as being weaker which can be argueably true that they're weaker. DC tends to have more "highly skilled" human characters, compared to the mass of Marvel's special power wielding force. I forgot what arc it was, but when Superman couldn't lift Thor's Hammer, the comic community went nuts.

They totally ripped me off, I created a "Bat-mech" way back during the first month of the Batman beyond show when they had a contest to create new weapons but I never really entered because of an age restriction, I just did it for fun, then THIS so comes a long and I kept seeing it in the commercials and I was like "if they actually use the same name I'm SO going to sue them!" Instead they chose the cornier name of Bat-Bot (feh). But then again Batman has always prefered to be a scalpel than a buzzsaw.

Also I supose some of you know about Mugen, the fighting game engine? Apparently some people have been working on Sprite edits for a DCvsMC version of Mugen, so it is possible even if it's not official. I've seen Superman GL and Lobo art so far, but I only saw them in passing, wasn't really looking to d/l anything.

Yeah because Balrog could beat up say the Incredible Hulk in a fight. The actual argument of who would when in a fight is pretty useless, because well it's a fighting game, and half the fun is getting to pick who you want. Technically from my perspective, superheroes aren't really built for fighting games because all of them usually bested because of a special weakness or strategy, none are hardly ever defeated from sheer strength or fighting prowess.

Okay guys, you know a helluva lot about comics and such. I've been out of the comics for years now, and it's time I got back in. I'm not looking to spend a lot of cash, but what recommendations to you give someone like me? Specifically, I would like to get into: Batman, Batgirl, Superman, Supergirl, and Spiderman.

Get the trades for Ultimate Spiderman. I was highly skeptical of the Ultimate series (re-imaginings of Marvel characters like Xmen, spiderman, daredevil, etc.) but Ult. spidey wasn't too bad. In terms of DC, check out Identity Crisis (DC wide story arc involving superheroes' loved ones getting killed ), Batman: Hush, World's Finest (Best Superman/Batman teamup I've seen in a while and re-introduces Supergirl w/ art by Michael Turner, the Fathom/Witchblade creator or Jim Lee of Image fame - I forget)... alternatively, check out Majestic (basically a Superman-level character who makes Supes seem like a retard w/ an IQ of 3 and a cocky arrogance to match). The first issue is the best: Majestic walks into a diner and has no money so he crushes a nearby pencil converting the carbon into diamonds to pay for his coffee. The ppl are all freaked out and Superman has to sit down next to him and basically tell him to turn the intensity down a notch. After he does so, Majestic hands back Green Lantern's ring to Superman since he didn't want anyone to disturb his morning coffee by mistaking him for a supervillain. Comic Gold I tells ya. If there's any other DC title I would check out, it would be the Teen Titans. Basically everyone from Young Justice (Superboy, Robin [Tim Drake], Wonder Girl [Cassie Sandmark?], Impulse) and about half of the old Teen Titans (Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Starfire). As for Marvel, as I said, the Ultimate series isn't a bad read but a really underrated gem is EXileS (alternate reality xmen try to correct wrongs while dimension-hopping)
