I just bought a brand new computer from best buy 3 days ago or so, and it has vista home basic, the serial number is located on the back of my tower. But it did not come with a vista installer disc. I was told it was located on my HD somewhere, did i was told you can download the disc.
I think its called a recovery disc or something. Any ideas?
I have no plans to remove vista, this OS is perfect seriously. But would be cool if i had that disc or i should look on my HD to find it?

What brand computer is it?
Most likely there is a recovery partition on your HDD. If ever your main OS went dead, you could then boot into that recovery partition and reinstall vista. I don't know if that is the case for you or not though.

darthbudge is probably right. but heres a link where you can learn how to order a replacement disc. id assume youll have to register your vista first.

Thanks :) I will make a order. But i don't believe anything will go wrong, vista home basic 32bit is working perfect , i haven't got any errors at all on OS.
Peace :) :)

You should be able to make your own recovery discs. I've found with some other brands that use a recovery partition will include a tool to burn your own recovery discs in the preloaded Windows installation. And looking here, it looks like yours does too: http://support.gateway.com/emachines/Manuals/emachines/8513036R.pdf
