All right, well, that works for me. Good for bhaines to just swallow the loss and chalk it up to "shit happens". I would equate something like that to losing because of a cut or an accidental eye poke or something. It's a tough loss, but it makes you that much hungrier to come back and go after the title again. It definitely sets up one hell of a rematch down the road though! :)

Congratulations to Matt Cracker for winning the Light Heavyweight title with his victory over Brandon Haines! It seemed like the third time was the charm for Cracker, who after suffering back to back title fight losses to Jean Claude (CAGFC1) and Michael Klein (CAGFC3) early in his career, was finally able to get over the hump against Haines.

The match was not without controversy, however, as early on, an accidental eye poke (also known as a dead controller in video game world) left Haines defenseless. Cracker seized the opportunity, and took his opponent down, throwing several body shots before gaining full mount. Haines struggled, but was unable to shake his oppressor, losing by TKO at 3:44 of round one.

After the fight, Haines was not happy about suffering his first loss in CAGFC. But he will surely use it as fuel to get himself back to the top of the Light Heavweight rankings. An explosive rematch is surely around the corner!

What’s up guys, Neven here with an update on the patch for UFC 2009: Undisputed.

I want to thank all of you for the support in making UFC 2009: Undisputed such an amazing success. That being said I want to you to know we’ve been working hard on fixing some of the issues found in the online experience. Hit the jump for the list of fixes.

1. We recognize premature match quitting as the biggest online issue and have taken steps to fix it. The Patch will have integrated code that detects who pulls the cable and will assign a Loss as well as a Did Not Finish to that player. The DNF is only counted for the player who executes the disconnection. The DNF rate will be displayed on the fighter selection screen of the Online Ranked Match. When disconnected the Winning Streak is also reset to 0.

2. We’ve adjusted Ranked Matches to match up players with better connections, which will improve lag issues we’ve seen to date.

3. We’ve adjusted the difficulty of performing submissions against AI opponents to improve the balance of subs vs. striking when playing against the AI.

4. We’ve adjusted the Flash KO rate so that they are less frequent.

5. We’ve increased maximum number of points awarded in online play from 99,999 to 999,999 and we’ve increased the Max Level from 100 to 200.

6. We’ve lowered the Winning Streak Bonus Max from 5 to 3.

7. We’ve removed the decimal places on the Leaderboard Winning Percentage so we only show whole percentages.

8. We’ve addressed the CAF cheat so the skill levels in CAF cannot be cheated and increased. Also any CAF with unfair point values will no longer be able to be used Online.

9. For PS3 users we’ve also fixed a bug that causes a freeze during auto-save; whichever controller was used to Press Start on the Title Screen will be identified as the main controller.

Rest assured our entire team plays A LOT of online matches and we read the boards every day, so we are well aware of the issues. We want to make sure we patch this correctly so it is taking a bit of time, but I can confidently say we’ll be releasing this patch soon.

Cody informed me of his situation earlier. My early week lack of gameplay time has been due to my nephews being in town. Hence, no privacy whatsoever. Mix that in with a shit work schedule, it's all bad.

Also, for what it's worth, I think it's a good idea to have bi-weekly cards. Less rush and more time for any n00bs to come in and at least work on their CAF before they fight.

Yeah, but the downside of this is that it gives people more time to forget about the game/move on to something else/get rusty. I would bring into question whether completing one fight in a week's time is actually "rushed", or whether communication to set up the fight didn't occur until the last day or two anyway. If the latter was the case, spacing cards 2 weeks apart would make no difference. It's just my opinion, and I could be dead wrong though. But it's something to consider.

I mean, why are there less than 25 fighters with the Condom Depot sponsorship? At least every other fighter, especially on Fight Night cards, should have the Condom Depot logo on their ass. Also, Evan Tanner is ALIVE in this game? He should be in as a zombie, or not at all. Finally, every Chuck Liddell fight in my career ends in a submission? When is the last time you saw a Liddell fight end in a tapout? Never.

Saginaw, MI (AP) - Look out CAGFC! DrP1zza is rollin! After getting crushed in his CAGFC debut against Big Black Smurf, I Am DrP1zza has won his last two fights and looks to make a run at Heavyweight champion Gary Russell. DrP1zza needed just 4:02 to dispose of his most recent opponent, Chris Moore.

From the opening bell, DrP1zza tried to control the striking, but after being hit with several leg kicks from Moore, he finally caught one and took his opponent to the mat. From there, DrP1zza quickly gained the mount and began raining down heavy blows. Moore tried to catch the punches, but DrP1zza kept changing his timing. Then, strangely, DrP1zza let Moore up (due to my propensity to accidentally click the left stick, haha).

The fighters continued exchanging shots, until a few good strikes to the head made DrP1zza nervous. He again took Moore to the canvas, and again gained mount. More heavy fists crashed down onto Moore's skull, until DrP1zza decided to go for an armbar (again, due to my propensity to accidentally click the left stick, haha).

As the clock ticked down to under one minute in the round, DrP1zza threw his leg across Moore's face, raised his hips, and made his foe tap out. 2 straight wins for DrP1zza. That's 2 more than he's had his entire life. Look out world!

Yeah, you've met the minimum requirement to have a third fighter, so as long as you can keep up with it, you're more than welcome to add one (assuming that you brought him through career mode of course). If you want to retire your LHW, that's up to you. But you definitely don't have to.

All right guys, the results from CAGFC6: FIREWORKS have been finalized. We ended up having 5 fights go uncompleted. A few of them I knew why, and a few I didn't. Losses were given to fighters who didn't show an effort in getting their fight scheduled.

Also, John Routier (both of them) missed his 2nd straight fight and will not appear on future cards until he shows a desire and willingness to participate. I know life gets in the way sometimes, but setting up these matches is just a waste of time if they're not going to be completed. It's nothing personal. Just a preventative measure to keep this from happening every week.

You'll also notice that the Lightweight title is now vacant. Andrew Kennel has decided to take a break from fighting, and will give up his belt by doing so. That title will be on the line at CAGFC7, in a bout between Joey Acez and Ash Cambell. The rest of the CAGFC7 card will be posted tomorrow. Stay tuned!

All right, the card for CAGFC7: SHOWDOWN is now up! You'll notice we've got some interesting matchups on this card. Since Middleweight Champion Eric Ortiz is out of town, there will be a battle for the #1 contender between Jackie Chan and Jason Miller. The winner of that fight will battle Ortiz for the belt when he returns.

Yeah, good match. DrP1zza got hosed though! (and not in the way that he enjoys) This was a really tough loss because I don't feel like I did one thing wrong the entire match. Considering I landed some strikes, actually threw you a couple times, mounted, threw heavy strikes, blocked transition attempts, and once we were back up, I blocked a slam into a guillotine choke (which I actually thought I was going to get because you had almost 1/3 red showing on the bar).

Then, you escape, go for a kimura, and DrP1zza goes limp like his own dick. WTF??? I suppose the only mistake I COULD have made was going for a technical escape, although I thought for sure you were stronger than DrP1zza since you used a power escape to get out of the guillotine. Like I said though, it's my own fault for expecting him to do anything other than fail miserably. I'd still like a rematch though because it wasn't one of those matches where I was just outclassed. I really thought I could have beaten you.

In other news, CAGFC has a brand new Lightweight champion! In a battle between the top contenders, Joey Acez and Ash Cambell fought for the title vacated by Andrew Kennel. Yep, good fight. Acez changed his strategy around, going for a lot of takedowns early, but Judo has a lot of good transitions and I ended up in mount. He survived that to end the round, and caught me in a clinch in the second round, but I was able to block most of it. The rest was mostly Acez trying to keep out of punching range, but within head kick range. I ate more headkicks than I would've liked, so I've got to practice my blocking better. I mostly just tried to cut off the octagon and threw a bunch of punches.

I've got two belts now, someone better come get 'em.

Got to give it up for his opponent though, after getting punted in the balls and having his eye swollen shut he was still able to go the distance, and even absorbed that crazy superman punch by Belcher. I don't agree with all of the judges scores (30-27 for Akiyama?) it was still a hell of a fight.

Watching GSP pick Alves apart was great, amazing that he pulled his groin and still performed like that. He was obviously in a lot of pain when Rogan was interviewing him.

I was surprised that Brock wanted it on the ground after how the first fight turned out. It'll be interesting to see who'll take the belt from Brock considering his size.

Crazy fight between me and cgarb. The first round basically consisted of us feeling each other out. Both of us landing some strikes, and both of us mounting some offense from the ground. The round ends, with neither of us looking particularly damaged or tired.

Round 2 starts. We come toward each other, pausing briefly to try to gauge each other's timing. I get closer and throw a superman punch. cgarb apparently had the same idea as he also goes for a superman punch, but a fraction of a second behind mine. Fortunately for me, mine got there first, and connected clean, knocking him out cold. That's one of the worst flash KO's I've seen in the game...only 11 seconds into the round.

Regardless, good fight cgarb. It easily could have been me on the receiving end of that exchange. Those are the breaks, I guess.

As a longtime participant/organizer/scorned lover of online sports leagues, these kinds of problems always pop up in one form or another. Drew, I hope you're not referring specifically to this fight. I was trying to contact you over the weekend on here and MySpace, and then you made the post saying you could not play Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday, we communicated and agreed to get the fight done yesterday.

As for yesterday, I couldn't connect to the internet after 5:45 P.M. It was not an Xbox Live thing; I just wasn't able to connect to anything internet related, thus I had no way of contacting you. I couldn't even watch a movie I really wanted to see, that they removed from Netflix streaming at midnight. I just went to sleep while watching The Tonight Show.

Yeah, if I could remember all the horrible messages I've sent to people after they disconnected, I might actually start to feel bad, haha. It's unbelievable that there are people who expect me to fight their 119 CAF, people who spam subs (spam as in using sub attempts as a means for transitioning rather than actually learning to play the game), people who cheese "guard offense slams", but yet when I bust my ass and battle for 3 solid rounds to finally get a submission, they'll quit.

I usually say something to the effect of "nice fight you fucking pussy". One guy told me "boo hoo" and I just couldn't help myself. I responded "yeah, that's the sound your mother makes when I'm done fucking her". It's like roid rage man, lol. I wasn't proud of it, but it just felt like he deserved it somehow.

The best was when I told one idiot to take his loss like a man. He replied "actually, I was winning. But you got a sub. Not fair." I was so baffled I couldn't even respond, haha. I also like to tell people "so, I guess you're just going to stop playing when the patch comes out?"

Anyway, as far as CAGFC...yeah, the fights here are ridiculously competitive. Since you've posted your fighter's info (I assume he's one you've taken through career mode), I'll get him added to the roster, and he'll be on the next card that gets posted tomorrow. After that, you'll have about a week to contact your opponent, schedule a time for your fight, and get it completed. Read the OP for more details on how to post results, etc.

I agree 100%. I like this game a lot but it has some problems and the online worn very thin quickly. That patch can come out soon enough and by the time it does I might be so jaded as to not care. I was stuck on 95 wins for a week and a half because so many people disconnected, the higher rank the worse it is.

The league is great though, Nate gets props for that. Even then I dont see this game going through the entire summer.

Ok guys, the results from CAGFC7 have been finalized. Also, some major housekeeping has been done. The fighters who asked to retire have been respectfully removed from the roster (and are welcome to rejoin at any time).

We had a few fighters who have just been lingering on the roster since the beginning, that I decided to move to the retired section as well. BoSoxFan's 360 red ringed right after he signed up, and he never rejoined us, and never had a single fight. pimpster's disc broke several weeks ago, and I wasn't sure if he was replacing it or not. I PM'd him, but he never responded, so I guess that means he's done. talonthrawn, one of the founders of CAGFC, sadly never came back from getting married. I know there's a joke here somewhere...

We had one fighter moved to the suspended fighters list. cashHD joined us a couple weeks ago, posting his fighter's information and raring to fight. Then, he never posted in the thread again and didn't complete either of his first two fights. Not really sure what the point of this was, but thanks for wasting everybody's time.

After cutting all the fat, you'll notice that CAGFC now has a much leaner roster. I hope this will allow us to run more efficiently. I know some people have said the only reason they still play the game is because of CAGFC. I just hope that's a big enough reason to keep you playing. I don't know exactly how many more cards we'll be able to have, but I'd really like to AT LEAST make it to CAGFC10.

If we ever get to a point where the same people are controlling most of the fighters and are fighting each other every week, I've got an idea for what we can do. But I'd still like to keep this running as long as possible.

In that spirit, the card for CAGFC8: TRUE WARRIORS has now been posted! We're calling it TRUE WARRIORS because the fighters we have left, who have stuck it out and are still going strong are the true warriors in this league. Thank you guys for continuing to fight and showing what true competition is all about.

You'll also notice there's a special main event, with a mystery opponent for Chris Moore. I can't say who that is yet, but all will be revealed soon!

Garcia frustrated Hart with his blocking of strikes and takedowns, while Hart had to defend many glancing strikes from Garcia when they got in close. When Hart did get Garcia to the ground, he could not get any strikes in as Garcia consistently countered Hart's strikes into submission attempts.

Hart finally fell to the 8th submission attempt of Garcia as he was choked out. Hart had more takedowns in the fight, but Garcia dominated Hart in transitions 4 to 1 so Garcia probably had the advantage on the cards but we'll never know.

Hart's record falls to 3-5 overall (1-5 in non-forfeit fights.)

After a very even, brutal battle, I had Cung Le on the ropes with my clinch uppercuts, but he reversed me and then I accidentally pulled guard. Yeah really good fight. I had trouble with the uppercuts from the single collar tie but I was able to withstand enough punishment to get the KO. We seem to be very evenly skilled overall, which makes for some very close fights.

Actually, this is the OPPOSITE of what people were suggesting. Some were wanting the cards to be only once every two weeks. Personally, I feel one per week is the sweet spot. It's no where near too demanding, but it's often enough to keep the people who care about MMA involved.

I'd definitely second the idea of doing exhibition matches, and maybe even finding a "training partner". I think that would give you the best of both worlds where you could stay sharp, but still have the flexibility to try new tactics and strategies without it going on your record.

I totally hear where you're coming from though, and I also feel you need to play the game regularly to stay sharp. The problem is no matter what we do, it won't please everybody. My hope is THQ will release the patch sometime next week, and then we can all use quick matches (that are actually fair) to keep our skills fresh.

Round 1: Your first punch of the fight was a superman punch and knocked me down lol. I fought back with a lot of takedowns the rest of the round. I had you in the grey, half knocked out at the end of round 1 though. You were one punch from being knocked out lol. Saved by the bell.

Eric Ortiz with three straight wins over Chan. Again, it was mostly domination all around by Ortiz. A superman punch from Ortiz late in the third round connected, dazing Chan. Before Chan could recover, Ortiz followed with another superman, knocking Chan out for good.


Nice fight again. Didn't really get into my "rhythm" until halfway through the second, but you still outfought me the whole game. I honestly am surprised I made it out of the first without getting KO'd. I really need to redo my guy. No sense in using MT if my clinch grapple rating is mid 70's- I could only get in two whips before sleepy could escape.

I'm guessing he waits for the standing opponent to gas, then boom, takedown to kneebar.

Nah... He doesn't wait for anything. He (as a heavyweight, anyway) slams the shit out of his opponent till there's nothing left. Thankfully, I now know how to both counter standing slam attempts as well as how to prevent him from picking me up off the ground.

The kneebar is usually the first submission available when the fight goes to the ground (open guard offense). Generally, Gary doesn't waste time transitioning to positions for cooler/fancier submissions. Just like his hookers, he likes it quick and dirty.

I could have fought him smarter, but even with my 100 vs his 101, I felt like I couldn't touch him. He's basically like the CPU on expert. If you can stay ahead of him, you can beat him. But once he has you, it's over. The kneebar he got me with was his only submission attempt of the fight. I wasn't really gassed either. He just goes for it, and it's done. He waxes that stick like a professional.

Have you fought much Lightweight on expert? There are some ridiculous wrestlers in that division. I'm actually having a hard time with my new CAF because all those guys are so good on the ground. Some of them spend the entire fight just trying to take you down. Throwing kicks is pretty much not an option. And once they have you down, they block almost every transition. Lightweight is the toughest in my opinion.

Career. Yeah, even guys like Rich Clementi give me freakin fits in career mode. Going through Lightweight career is like being picked on by a bully where they just pin you down, wait for you to tire from struggling, and then fart on your head (although, replace farting with armbarring you in this example).

Yah, If I see an opening I go for it. I don't try to transition to a better position so I Get a fancier sub. I don't know whether that's a bad thing or good thing about me being different than the CPU lol. But alot of people know my weakness and can take me down. It just depends on the mood im in and how I want to play really. Sometimes Slams, sometimes being a douche ground game person. I'm ready for Matt.....that's for sure.

Practice, practice, practice. You gotta know your transitions well. On the lower difficulties, you can do them without any real resistance from the CPU. But if you're playing against a human opponent or expert CPU, timing becomes critical.

They tend to focus more on blocking your transitions and not allowing you to escape, waiting for you to just tire yourself out so they can slap on a submission. The key is not panicking and picking the right moment to go for your transition (usually right after they go for a move of their own). It'll take time, but eventually you should get better at it.

Don't freak out and be patient.

Try holding the Left Button and doing a quarter circle to go to closed gaurd, or try to catch one of the punches. From there you have two options, either try holding onto the guy until the ref forces a stand up (but you need a very high grapple defense to pull this off from the mount position) or doing a half circle to force them to move to half gaurd.

A lot of people just do a regular half circle and give up their back, which isn't really the best option.

Block until you think that they aren't grapple blocking before doing a transition. Remember to block the stomach as well since almost no one remembers that.

More importantly, don't let them get to mount in the first place. If you aren't comfortable on the ground, close gaurd and transition block.

Try creating a Judo fighter, they have some awesome ground transitions.

No offense to Ace, but that fight sucked. Granted, I'm still at the beginning of Hansen's career and he's only rated a 38, so I expected to get beaten. But at the very least I wanted to get dominated. We traded a few shots early, with Ace trying to take me down. I managed to catch him in my MT clinch and threw some whip knees. After he broke free, he took me down, and slapped on a kimura. It was a disappointing ending for me because I was hoping to get my face beat in.

I'm starting to fear that I'm an MMA elitist because certain things just bother me. In my head, kimuras (and kneebars to an extent) are not really worthy submissions because you can perform them from very generic ground positioning. As opposed to armbars, triangle chokes, or rear naked chokes where you have to advance your position to be able to go for one. See how elitist that is? lol...what the fuck is wrong with me? But in my head, it makes perfect sense.

Anyway, I was going to lose either way, so I guess it doesn't matter. If I had gotten Hansen further into his career, it wouldn't have been an issue. Sorry to rant about it. I had also just finished fighting Thiago Tavares for the 4th time in career mode, and he was the biggest example of cheesing I've ever seen by the CPU. All he did the entire fight was shoot for takedowns, and as soon as he got me down, he'd go for a kneebar. Even when I had full stamina, he just kept going for it. I've never seen the CPU be that cheap before. It was really annoying.

EDIT - Nice, apparently Ace took offense to me making fun of his kimura and saying that I should have just given him the win because it would have saved us some time. So, he's retiring. My guess is he's about done with the game anyway since he's got all but two of the achievements. If I truly caused it, my bad. But all 3 of my fighters have lost their first fights in CAGFC because they've been underprepared because I spend more time working on the league than I do playing the game. Forgive me for being a little frustrated.

Eh, I wouldn't know. I'm not gonna bag on the guy though. I just felt that by having a fighter rated 50 points higher than mine, he could have won more convincingly (kinda like he cheated himself, haha). But I don't know for certain that he knew my guy was only a 38, not that it matters. In the end, winning is winning. I cleared it up with him though. I was really perplexed by the fight more than anything. Like "wow, that was fast" lol. Honestly, with the difference in ratings, he probably could have submitted me from the opening bell, haha. Yeah, I was trying to create a stand up fighter to go through the lightweight division, and thanks to the competition spent more time on the ground than anything. Played all of the fights on expert and didn't have too much of an issue though. The computer always reacts the same when you get into mount on expert so the challenge was getting into mount before the computer could try for a sub.

My strategy was to try and knock the wind out of Caveman, and it worked but it wasn't easy. For a Caveman that sucker is good at BJJ. For every transition I got there were another 10 I attempted but didn't get. Fast sucker too. I received a better understanding of why having a high speed stat is a good idea because when Caveman went for an attack at the chest/stomach area it was near impossible to block or counter the flurry.

Had a second fight for fun that was even closer. I think if I hadn't already made a guy that mostly fought on the ground I would've never been able to defend his BJJ.
