I've always had a soft spot for space flight sims, but I never managed to play X-Wing or TIE fighter for the PC. Time to fix that oversight. I know that there have been several re-issues of the game, but do any work on XP?

Thanks for any help.

I remember loving x-wing and I never really had a chance to try TIE Fighter. Right now I'm hoping I can track down a copy of X-wing vs. TIE Fighter. I've heard that is really good and has multiplayer.

Ha! My copy of X-Wing has been gathering dust ever since Windows 98. I could never figure out a decent way to get it to run that didn't require a boot disk (which is just annoying).

But yes, I do remember spending countless hours escorting freighters and attacking supply depots. I also remember one time I stopped right in front of a Star Destroyer and shot at it for 30 minutes until it finally exploded.

TIE fighter was money - I remember being impressed with myself at how far I got in that secret organization. And then I realized how much I had actually missed. Never really never got into X-Wing, though - TIE Fighter always seemed so much more fun.

Heh, I was going to suggest DOSBox but I guess I don't have to now. Worked for me when I wanted to play Day of the Tentacle.
