View Full Version : Kill the Crickets

Okay...let me start off by saying that I used to like crickets. I don't like killing hardly any insects besides spiders, moths, mosqitos, and flies. I would hate to step on something or squish something crunchy too...which would be a cricket. So I had one in my room earlier today and it was making a noise in the corner, so I tried to catch it to let it outside, like I've done b4 in the past. I'm sure the poor guy was just lost, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. So after he decided to play hide and seek for a while, while also making that annoying ass noise, I started to get irritated. Irritated turned to pissed off, and pissed off turned to I'm gonna kill this son of a bitch, and I'm going to kill this son of a bitch led to me grabbing my bb gun and shooting the shit out of it. Poor little cricket pieces were everywhere. I swear, I hate these things now. I hear 'em in the laundy room all of the time (the laundry room is connected to my room in the basement). So now...I have this one bastard cricket who I can't find, I believe hes behind the panelling behind my tv set. It's driving me insane and I now have the biggest headache, a loaded bb gun, and an anger that could give me the strength to bend a weight-lifting bar into a pretzel. Recommendations? I know I can insect-bomb the place, but pratically everything in my room has something that is valuable and would need to be covered up...and I imagine that would leave many hiding/survival areas for crickets and other insects. Are there cricket traps or whatever like they have for ants and roaches? I'm going crazy!

idk... but once u find hit, fuck him up bad... but dont kill him, then leave him outside with like, 1 eye and 1 leg so he can tell his beds to stay the fuck out

Isn't there some sort of device that plugs into the wall, emitting a sound that drives them away?

ah ha...so the male is the one making the sound, rubbing his damn wings together...we'll see what sound he makes when i find him and rip out his little wings and replace them with toothpicks

Well, if you chemically castrate him, he'll have no urge to rub his legs together. That's a humane was to go...

ok...after tearing down a poster behind my tv, near the cricket sound...i saw a little spider hiding behind the poster, apparantly he knew something was up and didn't want any kind of trouble...so i told the cricket to come out quietly or the spider gets it...he chirped one more time and i grabbed a can of black spray paint and kindly painted the spider onto my wall....the cricket has surprisingly shut up ever since....

I had a cicada(sp) outside my bedroom window and it kept me up all night with its chirpin. I got so pissed and when I finally went to sleep and jackhammer woke me up at 6 from the construction across the street.

I get crickets in my house occasionally and it pisses me off. They're normally downstairs so when my computer was on the second floor I could hear them even with the door shut. There was one little fucker hiding and I could hear him through a floor and like 3 doors in the house. Thank god my computer is up in my room now or else they'd be driving me insane... good luck with that cricket

Don't know if any og you guys are supersticious, but it's bad luck to kill a cricket inside your house.
Anyway, I'll take a few crickets anyday over my roommates zoo. If anybody ever tells you that a Quaker parrot or a lovebird is a quiet animal, punch them in the face. Every Saturday night I'm out till about 5:00am (I'm in a Rocky Horror cast after all) and every Sunday morning at 6:00am the birds start. Grumble, Grumble...

The only service my four housecats are good at and can provide reliably is cricket removal.
My cats love crickets. The snack on them constantly. And if they don't eat them, they always rip a leg off them. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing a one legged cricket that can't hop OR chirp. :D No cricket is safe in my house, and I live in an area that is overrun with crickets. And I mean ALOT of crickets.
I haven't heard a cricket in months. But the ones that I have seen have either been legless, or have had a cat chasing it. And a cricket being chased by a hungry kitty it cant stop to rub its legs together to chirp. :D
I'm not superstitous about crickets being murdered in my house. I also have a black cat too, so if there was anything really unlucky then it would be a black cat who kills crickets. XD

yeah...my cats love em too...the problem is that they're behind the panelling in my basement....believe me, whitey (one of my cats) was going crazy and staring at the wall every time the noises were made...she just couldn't get to em...

Yeah, I could hear the cricket even with my music blasting in my ears on my headphones. It pissed me off to no end. Luckily mine wasn't hidden in the wall, the fucker was just hiding behind the stairs... I found him soon after when I couldn't take it anymore... sorry you can't get to your cricket, is there loose paneling  or iono, but I'm sure someone from the exterminator company could probably help... if it gets that bad...

When I was like 6, a cricket ended up sitting on my eyeglasses, on the inner lens... while I was wearing them. It wasn't a problem getting it to leave though.

oh yeah...and as much as i hate hurting slugs because they're stupid and pointless to begin with, i saw like 10-15 of 'em on the back of my house...in the midst of all of my cricket killing, i shot about 5 holes through one of them...then i grabbed the salt and poored that all over him to teach him a lesson...i then rolled a softball over him with my foot, i dunno what the softball was doing back there, i guess my dog claimed it as his toy....these goddamn insects bring out the animal in me...i really hate killing insects (except spiders and moths), but i just can't take the noise
