i recently bought a new video card, not even a month ago, a nvidia 9600gt. the card is pretty damn loud making wierd vibrating buzzing, it goes on and off. and when in a game, it runs decent for about 5 minutes then its like it just dies and looses 3/4 its power making games go from like 60fps to 10. games like crysis and red alert, even with the settings all set to low it still does it.

i bought it at frys electronics. would i be able to go there and maybe just replace it with the same type. or am i screwed.

Sounds like you got a bad fan motor, and the bearings went out prematurely. Unfortunately it happens a lot on budget brand cards, they cheap out on fan quality.

I would try to return it. Sounds like a bum card.

I'd check Fry's return policies as I don't know the rules off-hand. If you can't return it to Frys, you will be able to RMA it although a store return would be much easier.

The card probably came with some warranty information, hopefully you have that stored somewhere.
