Mixed reviews, but looks pretty cool. Demo is mirrored a few places, here is one:

I'd like to download this, but it'll take 10+ hours on my school's connection. Looks like I'll have to finish up these last two weeks before I can check this out. Looks interesting, though.

I played through part of the demo. The game is a system hog, so I was getting poor performance, which was surprising. It seems like a cool game, but it was really tough; I was dieing a lot and that usually gets me to stop playing a game.
Oh and for some reason my 8800 hit 90 degrees Celsius playing this game. In all the time I have had this card it has never gone above 60, so who knows what happened there. I just cleaned all the dust out, so that should help, but it has never gone that high before.

Tried the demo, it was super sluggish, so I turned off the physx option and that smoothed it out. My rig is an e8400, radeon 4850, 4gb ram, all at stock speed, running at 1650 res.
The guns are a little tricky to use, I found myself taking the fireman's axe to enemies.
I don't know what it is, maybe the atmosphere, or the art style, but I liked what I played and will probably get this.

I'll hit up the demo when I get home if I remember. I'll log my GPU and CPU's temp, but it shouldn't get too bad. If Physx is enabled by default, it would definitely be causing some sluggish problems that everyone is experiencing. I've tried that enabled before for the hell of it and man did it drag my performance down.

Yeah I downloaded this from EVGA site and it kept crashing.. I've got a GeForce GTX 285 and it has Physx built in. I will try turning off physx like suggested above and see if it helps.. I run at 1680x1050 16:10
I like the parts where you go in the flashback of some victims. Nice touch.

I went through the demo, it was ok. Not really my cup of tea but was an interesting concept none-the-less. First time I went to boot it up I had a black screen and never got anything outside of being able to kill the window by hitting just about any button. So I searched google and found out I needed to reinstall DirectX10. Did so and fixed that problem.
Once in the menu I left it at default settings for the most part. I *think* both physics options were enabled when I first ran it but I left hardware physics on and disabled advanced physics. It wasn't really smooth when I first got in but it settled for the most part. Although it was still a little rigid from time to time, so I'm guessing it was a frame rate drop. However I forgot to turn on frames while I was playing so I am unsure as to what they were exactly. After my first run I went back and took a quick check with both physics options off and it ran a bit smoother, although it was still a little rough around the edges.
The game itself is interesting. The idea of changing the past to effect the present has been done before, but it's still interesting and provides different puzzles than what I'm normally use to in a first person shooter. The kitchen room was particularly interesting registering my second death in the game (first was the very first enemy you come across since I was low health and wondering why the fuck the bitch was still alive). It was also amusing to be able to view the past of a cow being beheaded in first person too.
I'm using an 8800GTS with 4GB of DDR3 RAM in Vista 32bit (Yeah I know, was having trouble installing 64bit since I got this mobo, will do so next time... think I need to flash my bios to get it to install properly). Resolution was 1280x1024 and shadows were set to 4.0 with everything defaulted to medium except textures which was on high.
My GPU temp only saw a 20C increase in temperature and my CPU saw a 15C increase while I was playing and was pretty stable throughout the demo.

It's now $14.95 on direct2drive

Don't know if it is a sale, a pricedrop or a price glitch. But I couldn't resist at this price (they charge tax in NY). I'm pretty sure there is no drm in this, but haven't downloaded yet.
Going to post this in the deal forum as well.

I was really hoping to try this out so I downloaded it from gamershell? and installed it on Vista. Everytime i launch it it black screens and have to close it by config manager.
Went to there forums and there isn't much support there at all?

The problem could be physx- during the demo install, it may not install these drivers. So you have to install physx separately (and then disable it in the options when running the game)

Reinstall DirectX (I actually mentioned this in my reply). Here's a link:

Every time I install this, it says it can't find the physics engine. Lame.
