It's just a cord, it doesn't have a power brick. If it fits in the slot on the back of the system (try looking at the slot) than it will work.

I still have the original one that came with the system and it looks like that except for the end that connects to the system. It's much like the original Playstation cord, where end that connects to the system has one side that is rounded & the other side is square.

Yea I noticed that some systems do that to the cord but the regular cords fit find, they just dont fit as snug as if they were the same shape is all. Really shouldnt matter unless you stare really closely at the back of your DC for some reason.

It's probably one of the smartest ideas SEGA had for the console. Made it easy as hell knowing how to replace the cord in case it got lost or stopped working.

Yeah, the Universal. There's probably a dozen of these laying around my house. You can find them on tons of crap at Goodwills/Salvation Armies... they were/are a popular choice for kitchen stuff like popcorn makers, blenders and portable deep fryers. You should also be able to buy one at a hardware store or other places.

The DreamCast's is different from the PlayStations in that it has two rounded sides, not one rounded and one square... this could create problems for people buying replacements if they don't know exactly what they're getting.
