well it is from the creators of puzzle quest, and Galatrix was pretty fun too, so I would give it a try when I can find it for like $10, but doesnt look too bad. Id get it eventually.

I was looking at the DS screenshots, actually, and I didn't think they were terrible. I'm not going to say great, but it didn't strike me as awful. Plus I suspect the game looks better in motion then in stills, as can often be the case.

Hopefully a download demo of the game will show up on the Nintendo Channel. I'm not going to buy this without being able to try it first. At least the price is right, though.

Do what I do when I want to test run a game ahead of time. Find it used at GS, try it out, and return it within 7 days. Gives me a much better feel for the game than a demo ^___^

what the hell i picked it up....

i got matched for Dokapon Journey for 600 pts on goozex ... this game grabs 600 pts as well..

I figure get it playit for a week or two and toss it up on goozex... so it would be just like renting this for free and paying the 20 fo the journey game i was about to buy anyways

what sort of worries me is I have yet to see any reviews for this game for the DS... one person who was behind the puzzle quest game did not even know the game was out yet (what worries me more)


Zoo made the game that sort of worries me cause most ZOO games are pure crap .

long story short, there are things called shrines what you need to beat to keep the game moving forward.. These are major pain the asses...i think they are 100x worse then the hack gates..

well when i first called they said i got the discount cause the item would of missed the delivery time (since even they said the item showed it would shipped from the shipper weds and i would of got it friday instead of thursday)

I mostly was calling to see if there was a problem with my credit card cause i never seen a game just sit in

Some bad thing about this game

You must clear the shrine to move on.. If you cant beat it your STUCK..

You dont upgrade your stats.. Its just fixxed.. Level 2 i got like attack + 1... Level 3 the thing was was 20% chance for an extra turn if you match 5 stones or some junk like that... So you really cant choose what way you want to grow

If your hero dies you have to move on to your next one. If your out of heroes you lose half your gold.... I dont think there is a way to bring them back from the dead...


The AI Never refills its party.... I got killed it was 4 on 4... We were both down to the final person and the AI killed me.. I took my 2nd hero went into that same battle with 4 new troops,..

it was me 4 them 1 (the only one that was not killed from the first fight)

you Cant buy spells or New troops... You have to unlock them in a SHRINE type game and then you can buy new troops once you unlock them.. same with spells. and weapons...

There are no QUEST type things in this game



over all it was worth the 8 BUT i would never give 20 for it .... 10 at the most

1. Timed
2. Temporarily beaten
3. Semi-luck driven
4. Oddly unique
5. Consecutively placed (pass 3 hack gates to proceed = fail)

I almost bit on the PC version for $10, but fortunately found a demo to download (vs. the flash-based early demo). I uninstalled the demo immediately after fully encountering the hack gates.

FYI: there's a patch (hack?) :) for the PC version that permanently opens the gates once they're opened. That sounds almost acceptable.

about 4 hours into the game and just beat the 4rh kingdom... seems late kingdoms they do recoup their people..


shrines there are a few different types..

To destroy the evil boxes (i think to make the game keep moving) you must clear ALL OF THE BOXES off the map.. no time limit

to get new troops you need to match so many colors in a Time limit (very easy so far)


im really getting the hang of the shrine games now and seem to be spending more time doing that then kingdom thing.

Like i said im around 4 hours into it just got done with the 4th kingdom.

all of the items you can unlock

there are 19 kingdoms I got 4
there are 20 different troops you need to unlock (though the shirne mini game) i got 9
there are 20 different weapons armor to unock (Though the shirne mini game) i got 6
there are 20 different relics to unoock (Though the shirne mini game) i got 3
there are 20 heroes to unlock (though the shirne mini game) i got 4
there are 20 spells to unlock (you guess it though the mini game) I got 7


now for those wondering how it works

say you have an archer and a axeman....

ARCHER Attack 3 def 2 2 green
Axeman Attack 2 def 2 3 gold

you need to make 2 3x matches of green before the archer can attack. he will attack the AI troops they have on the side... You will never attack the AI directly. If you match matches of 3 that is other then Green or gold it goes into your MANA pool (this is what allows you to cast the spells)

but if you match green or gold that mana goes to your troops and you do not get the Mana reserve.

spells are a major pain in the ass to get enough mana though the 7 spells i got only 3 i can use

1 spell needs 5 mana (turn 5 blocks white)
1 spell needs 7 mana (heals one troop member as your level so if your level 5 you get 5 def back)
1 spell needs 12 mana (turns all green to attack blocks)

your hero levels up randomly so you dont get to pick how to level up your person.. You cant say I want to level up the attack every time i rank up.....

spells you need to be a certain Level spell to cast them use them .... My first hero is level 8 BUT his spell range is only level 2.. Meaning even though i got 7 spells i can only use the first 3 .

only the hero fighting gets exp.. Meaning if you want to rank up all of your heroes you will need to replay the same MAPS over and over and over and over.. ANd at least the first map i tried to replay the AI was A LOT more powerful the second playthough

so in closing if you just wanted to rush though and only level up 1 Hero and did not have Massive problems with the SHRINES just to make the story keep moving, i would have to say the game is around 1o to 20 hours long ..... A LOT More if you wanted to rank up all of your heroes but i dont think there would be a reason you would want to do that

OVerall good game for 10... not sure if its worth 20

Just finished the game... rushed though last 3 or 4 kingdoms to see the ending..

total time 21 hours.... did not get 100% last shrine was a major pain in the ass... 587 moves to beat it
