i am thinking of putting a new case on my ds. I dont really like the color (cobalt) and its pretty banged up. I was thinking of putting a clear blue one on. I found a step by step photo-tutorial

Well, I hope you are pretty handy with manipulation very small things. I took apart a DS Lite once and ended up breaking it because I broke a tiny connector inside. There is a cable you need to disconnect (which isn't hard), but later need to re-connect. It is *very* difficult to reconnect because the connector is so tiny and awkwardly positioned, and the connector is easy to break. One guide I've since read about taking apart a DS Lite noted that they prefer to unsolder that wire from the board, rather then deal with the connector!

Some aftermarket cases might need slight tweaking to fit right. Overall its not too hard, but still not for the faint of heart. Lots of tiny pieces to easily break, especially the connectors for the screens. I wish you luck with the ribbon cable from the top screen, that thing is a PAIN to do. I had to do it with a fresh new screen, so you're current cable shouldn't be as hard since it has the curve to it already. Anyway, wish you luck.

I did it before. Be Careful with the ribbon cables and make sure you memorize where everything goes back together to the tee. The hinge is a pain in the ass. Good Luck!
