Wow. I didn't know they finally put out a core pack for the 3000 model.

Thanks op!

Pretty nice, if I didn't already have a DS I'd get it with God of War.

Hrm I guess the PSP isn't exactly selling well then. Kinda wierd how Amazon and other retailers were dumping the PSP 2000 models by adding in games and lower prices, and now the PSP 3000? So yeah, either not selling well or those Go! rumors are getting more and more true. Guess we'll find out at E3 which is not too far away anyways, so I would wait unless you really want a PSP asap. There could also be a price drop in the works for all we know.

Although the PSP 2000/3000 models aren't selling as well (and most of us know why) the system itself has never had a selling issue , just the games and umd movies. I don't see Sony doing a price drop for the system since price has never seem to be an issue for it. Not that I would be complaining if they did.

Monsta, throwing in a game has happened for virtually every system ever of late, doesn't mean something isn't selling well (and the newest game they let you choose is a year + old).

Dang, not a bad deal. I'd like to get a 3000, but the shipping would be tricky for me right now :(

I'll have to pick one up soon though.

Supposedly, the new PSP will be coming out by the end of this year, so I'm sure these will be discounted much more in the next three to eight months.

From what I've heard so far, the new model will have less functionality than the current model since it's losing the UMD drive. Based on the rumors there isn't a whole lot the Go! can do that the 3000 can't already do when it comes to essential features. Even with Sony switching to an all-DLC model, the 3000 can still play every single game. I wouldn't count on the 3000 model dropping in price a whole lot (if anything at all).

I can only speculate. I don't really know any more information than you, but you bring up some good points. I am hoping for dual analog sticks. If the modders can do it with current titles, then I think Sony could come up with some solution.

I've been fighting the urge to get a PSP for about a year now. Today I spent 10 minutes telling my wife why I want one, then talking myself out of one. Then I see three different teenagers with PSP's at Chili's this evening and I think to myself, "damn, look at that screen that thing looks sick!", then I see this deal.

Willpower.....willpower....

I never thought it through that they might really be switching to that model, if they're really ditching the UMD format.

I have almost zero interest in the Go, and a far, far less interest in the platform if they really do that :-(

it cause brand new PSP games are always listed at $40 at launch which is fucking ridiculous for a handheld game.

I'm wondering how Sony's going to handle customers that want to "upgrade" to the PSP Go. Does this mean you have to register your official copy of a UMD game and get a free download to the new system? Or can you not play any UMD's at all and have to re-buy your game library?

I'm waiting until after E3 to make any kind of decision.

I'd be willing to bet on the final option. This is why I don't think the 3000 model will dip that much in price. People with UMD collections will want the previous version. I also think there will be a good amount of demand from pirates that want the old hardware until the new hardware is cracked.

But yeah, until E3 everything's limited to pure speculation.

If i ever buy a PsP im probably gonna use my Sony card and get it at Sonystyle for the extra reward points. But this is a good deal that only looks to get better. Amazon is easily my choice for buying online, cant really think of anywhere else to go unless there is incentive. I hear Chains of Olympus is quite good...

oh yeah i know that but many games at launch have prices that are way too much. RR and MLB 09 were listed at $40 at launch Sony has to realize no one is going to buy these games until the price goes down.

Lastly this PSP can run Homebrew games not iso/psx.

So you can play emulators for example SNES, GBA etc.

You can fill out a form and to be reimbursed using your sony points at an authorized dealer. Especially useful when for products marked above MSRP! Doubly useful when you find a good price at a big retailer like amazon.

What's ridiculous about $40? I like when games are cheaper, but that's not a bad price point if it's a good game...though there's tons of cheaper stuff.

Out of the 18 PSP games I own I only paid above $20 new/used for any of them. Just the two good NIS ones (Prinny and you know what). I refuse to pay above $20 for most PSP games as most drop to that, and the few that don't end up sticking around for $30 for quite awhile but used copies run a lot cheaper. $30 has always been the most I'll pay for a handheld game unless It's a special edition or comes with pre-order bonuses.
