I have played for over 15 years now. I must say Dead Space has the best Atmosphere ever in a game. Blows RE5 the heck away.

It's a fantastic game, and well polished. But it's not scary at all. This is one game that handles menus and interfaces correctly, everything is within the experience.

Also to note, I hate 3rd person experience games -- but this game made it so natural that it plays like a first person shooter.

Buy and play it on the PS3 and download all of the back story animated comics that are available in the PSN store -- it really helps add to the story.

Here's a tip for people who want to make the game a bit scarier and more immersive: Turn off the music.

While I like the music and it's very well done, it falls into the trap that a lot of horror films do, in which it tries to emphasize which parts are supposed to be frightening to the player and ends up spoiling the moments. It's much more intense playing with the music off, and hearing the creaking ship and other atmospheric sounds that will get under your skin.

Oh, and yeah... it's a great game for $30 bucks.
