The idea is to find a non busy time. If you have 5k to give away in a day, figure that otut o how many a hour and then figure your odds with the different time zones ect. No one is sure how it's divided up now but I believe that it was always 100% chance of winning because less then 5000 caps were being used for songs in a day. Hell, this contest went on for a month or so before I knew about it.

Avoiding a lawsuit? You can't state that one of the options is Wii tracks, and then not provide a means for people to collect such tracks. Incidentally, I don't have 10000 wii points from this and haven't been able to cash in any of my 8 or 9 winning entries yet. I want Wii RB tracks and probably will use some for other stuff too if that's an option. Anyway, the incentive is clear: the terms of the contest clearly state that we can get Wii RB tracks and they can't just stop giving them out just because they aren't happy with how it works.


Right right. I'll come support you in court when you bring about your lawsuit over 1600-1800 Wii points. Saving yourself $20 will be totally worth the hundreds of dollars to hire a lawyer and file a lawsuit. Threatening lawsuits is so Juvenile.


For the record though, the terms of the contest do not state that you can get Wii Rock Band tracks. It mentions downloadable tracks, but not specifically for the Wii.

So, nothing new, but they still say they are working on it. I'm wondering if they aren't trying to get Nintendo to update the store to allow for download codes that specify a specific item, or song in this case. Or does Nintendo even need to do anything? It seems like they could do this already - I got a download code for the Wii Speak Channel with the Animal Crossing City Folk bundle, and it only allowed for downloading that specific channel, though that was a channel and not add-on content. Maybe that is where the issue lay, and perhaps they are trying to get Nintendo to fix that? Who knows. I'll be happy with tracks, but if we get points, all the better.

I personally don't think they can do individual track codes for the Wii simply because of the code configurations. Nintendo only uses numbers in their 16-digit codes which severely limits the number of codes they can produce. Microsoft uses numbers AND letters in their 25-digit codes giving them many many more combinations. (I don't know how Sony does it) I think Nintendo uses these down times to REUSE the codes that have already been used. Just a thought...

I havn't tried since this restock, but on previous stocks- I used the same song everytime and it generated a different code for 200 points.

I've always played 5 caps at a time, myself. I wish I had known earlier that wins were guaranteed and about the wii codes. I became paranoid that I was winning too much/easily and that if I got greedy,s I would start to lose. Ironically enough, it looks like not being greedy enough has cost me.

Hey - I decided last night to do the same strategy. I was going to get up at 5 AM, but forgot to set my alarm. I ended up putting in some entries at about 7:30 AM and I won the first four and then lost the last. More entries tomorrow.

Yesterday I also decided to throw (away?) 12 entries into the Xbox 360 contest (I mean the weekly one for the console, not the game.) I'm sure I'll lose, but they were all scavenged caps. Then again, those scavenged caps could be worth $2 worth of points each. Hmm....

Now, for the benefit of all (although I'm probably screwing myself by doing this), I'll point something out from the official rules.

If, for whatever reason, there are not 24 hourly prize winners or 5,000 daily prize winners in any given day, the remaining prizes not awarded that day will be accumulated during the Promotion Period and will be added to the daily prize pool on September 13, 2009.

June...early July...I'm looking at you.

I'm debating waiting for the last day on all of my remaining codes. Of course, if everyone plans to do this, it may also increase the chance of winning over the next few weeks.

My belief is that the chances of winning on any given day are calculated based on the number of entries submitted either on the previous day, or over the previous week.

Here's a useful tip for iPhone users. I'm annoyed when I come to a site that forces you into a special "iPhone" version without the option to get the full page and the pepsirockband site is one of them. However, if you type in this specific address (or you could use any of the specific pages), you will get the full site version:

So enter that once and go to it. You'll have to login to yahoo and then you'll go back to that address and it will be the code entry page. Bookmark it now to save you trouble. You can then get to the other pages via the normal means and it's the real site. Otherwise you're stuck with the special iphone version that wants you to enter your phone number. A) I don't want to do that and B) I don't have any free text messages, which is what I presume it wants your number for.

You won't get the videos (I think they're flash-based, but don't quote me on it), but otherwise it works. I just played a point and it worked (though I lost, of course.)

Does anyone know how the episodic content works? Do I just dload the additional game content via the in game menu and then it just integrates into the game, or do I have to manually select the episode I want to play by starting a new game every time?

Did you ever consider that volume of codes might have something to do with odds of winning? If the track distribution is set (say, a fixed number per hour or per minute), doing that many codes in quick succession would probably only hurt your chances because you're competing against yourself.

It's 5000 wins per *hour*. Now, common sense should tell you that the fewer people playing in a given hour, the better your odds. So play in the early morning/wee hours of the night and never, ever play in the middle of the day. Also, don't play too many times in an hour, because with each win you get in any given hour, your odds drop - as somebody said recently, you're competing with yourself. If you were really, really patient, you would play only one time per hour (and only in hours less likely to have lots of people playing), but I sure can't do that. :)

EDIT: also consider where you are in the US. Playing at 2 AM on the East coast is only 11 PM on the West!

I know what you mean. I am doing the same thing. But it's funny because I am starting to get losers at that hour and figure it is either you or someone at the scorehero site who is doing the same thing.

Based on the sweepstakes info and when the contest officially began and ends, the daily times are most likely 12:01am ET through 11:59pm Et. using deductive reasoning I can almost be certain this is the time due to the official website stateing the last entry for instant win dlc is 11:59:59pm Et on 9/13. Since this thread is in the Contests & Free Stuff Forum, anyone can see this thread without registering an account. If you have a code, your best bet is to make folks PM you for it otherwise non CAGs are likely to pick up the code.

I think I'm pretty much done with going out of my way for this now, just wish I had gotten in on it sooner. I'm 17/25, with pretty much all of the losses within the past week. I'll still pick up a Pepsi when I'm thirsty, and use any caps I gain from friends, but I won't be going out of my way anymore to get codes with the win % dropping so much.

Why do some of you continue after losing. I usually win 8 or so times and then lose. I stop and save my points for the next day. Why waste 25 in a day? After 2 or 3 (at most) i'd give up and try a better time the next day.

Well, it's probably that less people are likely to think about drinking a Pepsi first thing in the morning. The "average" person (and by that I mean non-CAGer) probably drinks a Pepsi or two at work and enters the code at their desk or puts it in their pocket until they sit down at the computer in the evening. When I worked first shift I'd usually have a few spare minutes in the morning to check my email and stuff, but if I had an extra couple of minutes in the morning, I'd spend it sleeping instead of entering a code from a soda cap.

Lol don't see how that has anything to do with a bad American (math) education system...the person said 6/8 which should have been 6/14. If he were describing a ratio he should have replaced / with the ratio symbol : unless those are different in other countries? Lol idk. As far as reducing them, I don't really think that is necessary on here since most are just telling the total of what they have tried (thus the higher sample size would give others a more accurate ratio than smaller ones).

EDIT2: FYI, I've spent $64.88 on caps on eBay and turned that into $210 in points/songs. That's a nice profit. A much smaller number of caps I got free (recycling bins) and a smaller number still I got from actual diet pepsi purchases. It doesn't count my failed bundle attempts and the codes I put into the weekly 360 console contest (when do they announce the weekly prize winners and do they notify you if you lost, or only if you win?) Probably all of those went into the bundle and console contests.

I've posted my "ways" several times now. Play early in the morning. I've been playing at just after 5 AM (eastern), right after I wake up. Make it easy on yourself and use your iPod touch or iPhone. You can roll over, press the "Play 1 Point" button, say, 10 times, then roll over and fall back asleep. :) Just use the link I provided in another post to get the real web page instead of their useless iPhone page.

Even though I have posted this info several times, it's still working, so either people are ignoring me, or there aren't enough people reading this to have any significant impact on the odds. Probably both. :) Or maybe I'm just incredibly lucky (ever since I started playing at 5 in the morning, and not prior.)

EDIT: Found in the FAQ that weekly drawings are carried out the tuesday after the end of the week's deadline. So tomorrow, for the period ending last night at midnight. It's not stated how quickly they notify you if you won, though.

I got a Pepsi at work today. It had the same packaging and red cap on the ones I usually get codes on, but I got a "Sorry Try Again" notice. I then found out the cap didn't have a Rock Band symbol on it. :( Just a warning for you guys.

I think I'm done with this promotion. It was fun, but Pepsi hasn't been updating their song lists, and with only a month to go, I doubt they will. So I'm definitely going to just hope I get a decent winning from my unused caps, and then convert the ~17 tokens into songs.

Might be a regional thing, or up to the bottlers. At the dollar store where I've been buying my drinks, they've only got Pepsi right now. They all had the (yellow) lids, and so did all of the ones I saw walking past the open door to the back room.

I can't complain either way; if I stopped today, I'm looking at $80+ of Rock Band DLC for the summer, for free. :D

Ok so i typed-in & validated six codes last night. This morning I entered three of those into the RB DLC instant win at 1-hour intervals and I received three winning notification screens. I'm thinking, "Cool. That makes me 20 for 20."

Later when I check my account, I see that only one of today's entries is marked "redeem for song". The other two state "Try Again". What the hell?! :bomb:

Also note that the codes work on the DSi too, not just the Wii.

I dont think you can give ms points to people. Unless its like a code for an 800 pt, 1600 pt, or 4000 pt card. I this case.we are seriously being ripped off.

It's probably been about a month since the track list was updated - the Green Day tracks were added the day they came out and there may have been another small update after that, but I know we haven't seen any updates since the Kings of Leon track pack (according to RBDLC.com, July 21st), maybe a few weeks before that.

Didn't we have somebody with a Twitter account ask if they were going to add tracks? Did we get a response? If not, anyone up for trying again?

There's been a lot of good content in the past few weeks - more Weezer, King of Leon, Blink-182, and Gorillaz are all things I'd love to get - but Pepsi seems to be ignoring that part of the promotion. :bomb:

I'm in the same boat as you. I redeemed 10 codes for Wii points thinking I'd be able to trade them for MS points to buy Rise Against plus some other recent additions, but so far I've been SOL.

Interesting. I just went 16 out of 17. I started just before 1 AM Eastern and finished about 1:10 AM. There was a period in the middle when I was entering 50 codes I had purchased from ebay. So... it looks like the early morning isn't the only good time. Also late night, at least on weeknights. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't work out so well on Fridays and Saturdays. Also interesting is that in the account listing they are all shown with a date of 8/11, but it is 8/12 on the East coast now.

Regarding other prizes... I put in a bunch of entries for the weekly drawing of an Xbox 360. Supposedly the drawing happened today (yesterday - 8/11). I didn't necessarily expect to win, but I had hoped to at least get notice that I'd lost. Maybe that notice is yet to come, although in the rules it states that if you win you could be informed by email, snail mail, or some other means, at the discretion of those running the contest. Who knows - maybe I won and I won't find out for a month. By then I might have opted to buy a 360 out of pocket. Also if I happened to have won I'd like to know that so I could then go for a bundle. Oh well.

Everytime I think there is going to be good news about the song list, there is no news. Damn these Pepsi people. Apples and Henry said some interesting things these past few days on closed threads at the official forum. Apples said Pepsi was behind schedule and Henry said he has been in touch with the Pepsi people and was trying to get a specific date on when they will update. These messages were posted after someone created threads with the generic Pepsi reply from an email.

Hmmmm, this is some interesting news. I'm definitely going to hold off now on using my tokens, and buying songs off the store. I was going to buy the Rise Against pack, and a couple other songs tomorrow, but now I'll just wait until at least some sort of confirmation or announcement is released regarding Pepsi's schedule or their tweet on how the whole library is available. I wish I could see the comments on that Tweet, but I don't know Twitter! Gah!

I went right at half and half, the odds seem to be getting slightly better. I'd love to spend 100 bucks and max out my Wii Points, but there are no guarantees. Gonna think on this, maybe grab 100 from them or so.
