Anyone gotten Billy Idol to work yet?

If anyone has some wins left: I've got a code for the AC/DC Rock Band Track Pack up for trade.

I'm looking to get my hand on some of these new songs.

That's a pretty damn good trade. :shock:

I'd go for it, but I've already got the pack and, as I learned, it isn't the best choice for vocalists. I suck too much on guitar and drums to approach the songs that way. :lol:

It's definitely possible - people have taken HUGE advantage of the Wii points, and since there's only about two weeks left before the website stops offering prizes maybe they've decided it's not worth the effort anymore.

Seems like the winning ways are back for a little bit at least. Just went 14/14. Running total of 54/67. Won the vast majority at the very beginning of the contest then ran almost all my losers in a row over a 2 week span.

Saw people winning again in this thread and went on to run my remaining codes until I lost. Went through all 14 points I had left and they were all wins.

Support has been contacted - judging from the official forums, it looks like Harmonix and Pepsi know about the Dead Weather issues (hence the tracks vanishing) and the Billy Idol issues. With any luck, there'll be a fix tomorrow.

Tomorrow's DLC announcement will help determine whether or not I blow my remaining codes. I don't necessarily expect another update, but if the DLC is awesome enough to warrant it holding out a little longer can't hurt. :-k

I just tried to play 2 points for instant win song codes and it took my points and told me something like "no points are available for instant win" or something like that.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Edit: Never mind I checked my account and they both counted as wins.

So far today I am 55/55. I just hope they add Wii points at least one more time.

Given that you can't gift 360 content and I can't think of ANY way for somebody to give you 320 points (maybe 300 or 400 if they've got a promotional credit sitting around, or an Axe code)...good luck with that.

They made a response on twitter about Wii points...may just be a problem in the system (hopefully) since it just says unable to redeem instead of the usual out of wii tokens message. I have a few banked...didnt get to redeem them all, and don't need any 360/PS3 songs at all :(

Yeah I'm having trouble with the Billy Idol tracks...but I believe I was able to get the one Tom Petty song I wanted. I just sent an email about the Billy Idol...so hopefully they'll fix that soon.

Everybody is having trouble with using Pepsi codes for this week's new DLC on the PS3. On the 360, the only tracks that aren't working are the Billy Idol songs.

Ok so maybe this is a dumb question but, I see you guys talking about cashing in on Wii points here, and I'm wondering this.. Where do I enter my pepsi points/codes w/e? When I look at the prizes I don't see a "Wii points" option or anything. I'm honestly confused lol.

When you cash in a win for a Wii downloadable song, it gives you a code worth 200 Wii Points, that you enter into the Wii Shop channel, just like a points card.

Well, on top of maxing out my Wii and DS, I've downloaded almost ALL of the available 360 songs. The only reason I haven't downloaded all of them yet is that I just simply haven't had time yet. I'll probably finish that up in a few days though.

Just went 25/25 for a total of 31/32. Have to talk to the lead singer (aka the GF) tomorrow and figure out what we want to get. I think I'm going to enter my last 2 points into the Harrah's drawing next week since we would like to go to New Orleans.

Is there a list of all the songs available? It is a pain to go back and forth through each page trying to decide what we want.

All of the Dead Weather links were generating codes for the same song, so they got pulled. They'll probably go back up in a few days, whenever Pepsi gets around to fixing that and the nonfunctional Billy Idol tracks.

It probably is a problem with PSN - other than the Billy Idol tracks (which don't seem to work for anyone), all of the new releases work just fine on the 360. I know, because I pulled down at least half of them last week.

You could call, but it won't do any good right now since nobody has a working PS3 code for that song. Judging from the fact that they've been posting in topics about it the Harmonix developers know what's going on; now, it's on Pepsi (or Sony, if the problem is theirs like I suspect) to fix it.

The Billy Idol tracks, at least for the 360, aren't generating a code at all but also aren't burning a token. As for using multiple tokens for the same song, that one's on you. Either wait to see if they fix it, or e-mail their tech support and see if they'll help.

This is why I'm torn on whether or not to enter. Everyone who's been milking the promotion is going to dump all of their points into that drawing, especially since the Wii points are still out and some of the tracks (Billy Idol for 360 and a handful for the PS3) are nonfunctional.

You are playing at the wrong time.

I haven't played lately, but the people reporting success are trying at 2AM, 6AM...you know, off-peak times. You will be more likely to win at these times than at 6PM.

I wasn't going to put any points into the Beatles Rock Band bundle the first week, thinking that would probably be tops for entries for that, with a drop off each week as people gave up, but then again, maybe not everyone knows about the Beatles Rock Band option yet? Hmm. :-k

On the other hand, there are going to be people who forget about the promotion until the end, and just take whatever caps they have left and dump it into something during the last week.

At the moment, I don't even HAVE any points to dump into the Beatles bundle - I've just been entering them all as songs.

Even though these are fixed, the Billy Idol tracks and Wii points are not. Just checked and was hoping they would be fixed all at once.

I am torn. I planned on dumping the rest of my points in for The Beatles, but I didn't realize how popular such an option could be.. Gah. I don't know what to do. I might put half in for The Beatles, and then try the half for DLC (I e-mailed the list to all my friends so they could pick songs, and I got overloaded with song requests!), although I keep losing now! I got a response back from Pepsi regarding the Tom Petty codes. This is what it said:

I imagine they must have been overloaded with e-mails concerning these problems. I don't mind them sending a robotic response e-mail to us all. I was just hoping they could have given us more information, like "We notified Playstation and we'll get back to you." or "Playstation will get back to you once the problem is fixed."

I just came into a huge amount of caps and am spending them all on DLC.

It seems to me that the odds have gone to the crapper again as of today. Lost 2/2 and stopped. Can anyone else verify this?
I was getting 100% the past 3-4 days, and would rather refrain from using caps again until the odds go back up.

Yeah, for a few days there recently the winning streak was back to 100%...many others have said that losing is back but I've only played one cap since then and it was a winner. Some say that if you are wanting 360/PS3 tracks, the last day of the contest should be 100% wins b/c all the days that all of the tokens were not met/won, they add them to the final day of the contest to get rid of them.

It appears you can get over $0.50 / cap on eBay, so if the bundles are only $250, you could guarantee yourself at least one bundle for 500 caps by just selling them on eBay.

Eh, probably.

Depends on the number of entries. For you to have a 1/500 chance of winning there'd have to be a total of 200,000 entries for the bundles (1/500 = 400/200,000). I'd say the odds of even GETTING that many entries isn't good, but you never know.

As for finding the caps...this late in the promotion I'm not sure you COULD get 500 codes from eBay. You sure as hell can't buy that many in stores - here in Michigan, the cheapest I've found regular price anyway is $1.00 a bottle plus our ten cent deposit.

I doubt it, but I'm holding onto a few tokens just in case!

You're probably right. At this point, I want to hold on to a few caps for the two Billy Idol tracks if and when Pepsi gets them working, but I might burn the rest.

I'm starting to fear all these vague responses and telling people to contact Microsoft or Sony. It seems you get a different answer and nobody really knows anything. Also starting to fear The Beatles bundle. I was hoping to put all my remaining caps into it, but you can't even choose your system of choice. Can you imagine if it is all random and PS3 users get Wii bundles and vice versa?

The way this promotion has gone, up and down, I would not doubt it.

I'm a little more worried about them telling people to contact "Playstation" for help. :lol:

Somebody on the official forums is saying "end of this week" for a fix, but I'm not sure where they got that information from - it's a random poster, not a developer. That MIGHT mean that we get a fix combined with an update, or it might just be wishful thinking. At this point, who knows?

The only thing that gives some credence to that is that they've responded to some of the e-mails about Wii points saying that they should have more in by the end of the week (as in, September 4th). Again, though, I'd take any information coming out of Young America with a grain of salt at this point.

This late in the promotion, you may not find them at all in certain areas.

They are specifically on the 20oz and 1Ltr bottles. I don't think anyone has reported seeing them on the 6pack tall bottles. Meaning... the cheapest you are likely to find it is at dollar stores, $1 for a 20oz.

Because soda prices are VERY regional and distribution of Pepsi/Coke is VERY protected, it's rare to be able to buy bulk soda at a worthwhile discount.

Sept 13th is the last day to play points. I *think* you have until the end of the month to redeem them, and then until the end of the year to actually redeem your tokens/points codes. I haven't looked at the rules in a while though so I'd appreciate someone backing me up on this.

From the rules:
Winners will have until September 30, 2009 to select their game console/system and track, and track must be redeemed in winner's game console/system by December 31, 2009. ERV $1.99, per prize.

I've won DLC a total (including the 63 non-redeemed entries) of 322 times, lost 65 times.

Total redeemed Wii Points: 51,800
Total waiting to be redeemed: 12,600
Total losses: 73
Win:Loss Ratio: 322:73 - 81.5%.

Assuming a price of 50 cents/cap (which is waaaaay high considering how many I was given for free from coworkers and a few lots from eBay for 30 cents or less), I've spent $197.50 on caps. For a total of $518 (or $644) worth of Wii points. Or about 62%(/70%) off.

If I had won every single entry, I would have gotten $790 worth of Wii Points. At 50/30 cents per cap, that would have been 75%/85% off.

Add in the Club Nintendo points I've gotten (yay!) and all the Pepsi I've drank (errr... yay?) and I think I've gotten a good deal.

lol, so I went to my local Dollar Tree today, and I saw they still had a bunch of yellow cappers, but I didn't really want a Pepsi, but then I saw in the back (kinda like near there stock room) they had a few open Pepsis in crates (probably Pepsis that people opened and then just left in store, tsk tsk), but they had yellow caps, so I went ahead and took the yellow caps. XD
