The name has been registered in Japan and there is even a logo. See article on kotaku:

Rumor has it that it will be sold both in bundle and game-only form. That is, if Wii Fit plus is real. Which of course it has to be given the massive sales of the original.

I am looking forward to it. I'll try to update this thread whenever we get more info, presumably at some point during E3, which takes place June 2-4.

This will be Nintendo's big E3 announcement, and gamers everywhere will be disappointed.

Wii Fit with Motion Plus = :dunce:

EA Active, IMO, really did raise the bar. Of all the workout games on the Wii, Wii Fit seems to at the bottom. EA Active and Gold's Gym is far better than Wii Fit.

Wii Fit DID have potential, though, so we'll see..

EDIT:   WAIT, this is Nintendo. It's going to be Wii Fit with a FEW more activities..and the plus means the new balance board will support extra fat people (over 330lbs)

Talk about whoring and milking something for what its worth Nintendo. Then again all the yuppie Starbuck drinking soccer moms will line up at Best Buy at the crack of dawn Sunday when its featured in the weekly ad hoping to get one.... so I guess Nintendo at least knows the whoring and milking is working for them.

Uh... I'll be in the line too and last I checked I was a Dad ... and my kids hate playing soccer and aren't really too keen on playing any sport so far. ;^) Yes, I like WiiFit. I can't compare it to other "games" available because I don't have any of those (yet), but in spite of it's shortcomings (and it certainly has them), I find it pretty effective for me. I certainly play Wii Fit more and get *way* more out of it then I ever utilized a gym membership that was long ago ended.

I'm surprisingly interested in this. I sorta liked Wii Fit. I Think this is going to be a mix of Wii Fit and EA Active w/o that ridiculous resitsnace band

Makes it look like it can track meals?
If they can make a tougher version onf the Step game.. I will get this. Advanced Step was great, just wasn't that tough.

AND
if they can give me a GOOD cardio boxing like Gold's Gym..than..this 'game' will be awesome.

Well.. I have to say.. I think this is "awesome".

Found Wii Fit Plus for Pre-Order on Amazon today.

$19.99
That's really good. I mean, they probably would have gotten away with a $49.99 price tag. I did enjoy Wii Fit for the most part..it was missing a lot. I feel cheated because it really is the same game w/ a few more exercises, but it's made the way it should be.. lol

Any one else gonna get it now that it's $20?

Great price point. I'm very impressed that Nintendo priced it so low.

I'll probably get it for $20. Although the question remains will they release the original as a standalone product now or let the other one cycle out of retail because I don't see any Wii Fits at stores anymore.

Wow, $19.99 for Wii Fit Plus? I need more details about what it includes, but it looks like a no-brainer purchase for me!

I'll definitely get this for that price. The question is do I bother waiting for it to possibly show up in my gold box? Is $1 worth the trouble? :)

OK, weird. I decided to just put in a pre-order and for some reason a mysterious "Promotion Applied: -$3.02" was applied. Anyone else see this? It's not a $30 coupon or anything like that because it only took off $3.02. The ECA discount was also applied, so I got it for $14.97 shipped! Nice! Anyone else see this mysterious promotion discount? There's no mention of it on the Wii Fit Plus page that I can see.

Here's the details:

Items: $19.99
Shipping & Handling: $0.00
Pre-order Guarantee: -$0.00
Promotion Applied: -$2.00
Promotion Applied: -$3.02

Total Before Tax: $14.97
Estimated Tax: $0.00
Total: $14.97
Gift Certificate/Card: -$11.16

Order Total: $3.81

EDIT: I presume there is no reason to keep Wii Fit (game) if you have Wii Fit Plus. I might trade my copy in now, but does Gamestop take the game-only? The trade-in thread only lists the value with the balance board.

I just added it to my cart and I only received the $2 from ECA

You sure you didn't have any left over Amazon credit?

As for the bundle, I saw it will be priced at $99 according to IGN. If I had known the stand alone game would be $20, I would have probably tried to get the Wii Fit package for $89 and then just got Wii Fit Plus when it released.

So will the Wii Fit Plus game include everything the original Wii Fit did? Is it more of an upgrade, or are there complete new and exclusive things to do, sort of like how Wii Sport / Wii Play / and Wii Sports Resort are all different.

Also, is the balance board really anything different or new from the original Wii Fit one?

The mystery $3.02 is solved - that was leftover from a $30 trade-in promo coupon when I bought Sims 3 for $30 deal of the day. After ECA discount I was using less then the full $30, and I had presumed that that meant I just lost the extra $3.02, as you would if you used an in-store coupon that had higher value then the product. I'm happy to find out that it was still available for use!

I'm surprised that they didn't allow 2 players (consecutively) with using 2 balance boards, which would have more people buy the $99.99 bundle ;)

Oh well.

I know what you mean, lilboo. My fiance and I wanted to use it together. It would make so much sense for Nintendo to have added this capability. Girls like working out together, too.

wii fit is still available for $89 at amazon and lots of other places if you want to do that.

Figure it might be more appreciated here since nobody is responding on the VGD forum, but Wii fit Plus with board is currently available to preorder on amazon for $89.99 and if you use the eca discount (which you can get free via a post on the VGD forum), it will cost you only $80.99.

I'm surprised they didn't add two balance board support. It seems like something they could do fairly easily and it would definitely sell more of the bundles. Sometimes when we play, one of us will play while the other does the exercise next to them not on the balance board, then switch after a while. 2 would have been a nice option.

However, what I've read about Wii Fit Plus indicates that they've corrected some of the problems with the first one, specifically being able to create a workout then go through it without having to spend so much time in the menus between exercises.
