Wonder when they'll tell me about this. The $7 bump wouldn't be bad if they let you get another game for free when you brought it back a la DVDs, otherwise you're better off just renting another game online.
However, I fully expect their online game selection and availability to be measurably worse than in-store (which is already awful).

I was in on the thought Blockbuster already did this kind of thing? If not, they've got some catching up with GameFly to do.

Received this in my email today. Not much new information, other than starting in July now, $7.99 surcharge each month you rent games.

so 1 game out at a time for 7 bucks.... Come on gamefly drop your prices : )
for those wondering Gamefly said they have NO INTENT to do a deal with netflix so that right now is out of the question... BUT if this would catch on i would say i wouldnt be shocked to see a netflix -- gamefly deal in 2010 or 11

so has anyone tried this yet? if it sucks, it might be better to do the netflix AND gamefly, especially for instant movies

Alright, program has officially started. I'm not throwing things at the top of the queue to cost me $8 when I don't need a game right now, but the selection seems pretty decent. Some bugs, as some games are listed twice, but there are a few hundred games per platform (Wii, 360, PS3, PS2), with plenty of June releases in there, all showing as Available. Not sure if anything noteworthy has come out in the last week or two to check on.
