EBgames.com and Gamestop are listed to sell the new PS2 on 10/14/04, about 3 weeks before Sony's officially going to release it.

It's obviously subjected to change, just like their DS realease dates a few months back, along with all their pre-orderdable stuff.

I would sell it on Ebay for $900 if I bought one three weeks early.

Yeah I knew some people that sold Doom 3 on Ebay a few days before it came out for $200. I don't know how the hell they got it, but they did.

Wow that's awesome. Smart people. I think I'm gonna do that with the new PowerBook G5. Pay 30,000 to get it 5 days before release, then I can show it to people, and they'll be like.... "Wow, you're so cool, Can I touch you?" And then I'll be like... "No, but you can check out my cool new NOT YET RELEASED IN STORES Powerbook G5. I mean... how sweet is this baby."
Yea..... something like that...

^yea the powerbook g5 will be awesome now it is time for apple to get the powermac to 4.0ghz.
I am really debating getting the new ps2 I think my old is about to crap out even after fixing the DRE's and painting it a thousand times to make it better it is still not as cool as the slim one.

Why do they need to up their speed to 4ghz? Mac processors are faster than PC therefor we dont need that much speed...I dont want to get in a war about PC vs Mac but Mac processors clock faster than PC's do.

I don't see how it's going to hold a hard drive....does it already have one? A regular hard drive seems like it would be thicker than the actual PS2.

Read about it...it doesnt have one and its not compatible...just like the psone it lost some capabilities when it got smaller...

It's not about "needing" anything. They have to push technology to keep making sales.

They are...they just bumped up to 2.5 dual and they are trying really hard to get to 3ghz...They cant seem to be able to get there...they promised by May of 04 but Steve Jobs said that his team just couldnt get it so they realesed the dual 2.5 instead...Im running on a Dual 2ghz G5 right now...its hella fast...I love it...It would be nice if they could get up to dual 4ghz...but I find there is no need for normal use...You only really need that speed if your doing music buissness related stuff or photo or some such...which is what macs are mainly used for...I think they will have a dual 4 by '06...Until then I cant wait for a dual 2.5ghz Powerbook...damn that will be a sweet day when that is realesed...The G5 imac will suffice until then...You cant deny Mac computers have a unique and sweet sense of style (new...most of the old ones looked like...well...damn ugly)

What all did the PS1 loose when they made the smaller version?

I think it just lost some ports and used cheaper parts.
karmapolice
09-26-2004, 12:48 AM
Yeah...cheaper parts and the port on the back for gamesharks and emulators to run imports and the link cable port got removed...also it wasnt compatible with all games...very select few...but still a few

A house payment for $900? Lucky you. In what part of the country do you live where you can have a house payment for under 1 grand?

Those were removed in some later revisions of the larger model Playstations, even. :P

What Playstation games does the PSOne not play that that old PSX did play? As far as I know they both play the same games, but someone let me know what games do not work on the PSOne, if any.

The only one that I remember having any trouble with on the old playstation, was Vagrant Story. It just wouldn't run at all. Other than that, I am not sure.

built in network adapter. no way for hd though
im sure they did it to rid of ppl using hdloader

I'm pretty sure the revised PS2 has been in development long before the HDloader was created, but it'd be interesting if hdloader affected the final design of it. I somehow doubt it though

Doesn't the HD make loading times faster? I'd want to put that on a new PS2 if I already had an old one.

Actually they could have been watching the Xbox and it's ability to copy games.

yes it does improve loading. and i like the thought of not constantly using my ps2 lens to read the games. i dont think its possible to put in on the new design

Its totally possible. Depends on where you live. You must also remember the average income is generally lower in those areas also.
I own a 3 bedroom ranch with 2 acres, Its roughly 1400 Sq ft (First floor), an addition on the house that adds another 800 sq ft with indoor pool, The basement wasnt finshed but is almost 100% finished now (two bedrooms, bathroom and rec room) and a 4 stall garage I have about $150,000 left on the house and my payments are under $1000. I have only been in it going on 2.5 years.
Now my father in law who lives in Cali has maybe a 1400 sq foot house w 1/2 acre, no basement and attached 1 1/2 stall garage and I know he paid more than $300,000 for it. Easy

So since the release date on ebgames and gamestop.com are probably wrong, and this thread is just about house payments now, how about a lock? I usually don't bother to ask for one, but this thread keeps popping up and bugging me.

BTW, I priced out a Z4 roadster on the BMW website... in a nice metallic deep red, only $45,000 with some nice options. Methinks I have a new goal in life.
