Well does it have a full single player expiernce? Maybe since I missed the first minute or two but all I saw was multiplayer stuff which to me is meh. If its got a full single player experience then ya I am ok with it being the same ole same old.

I still disagree. I say that Mario and Metroid deffintly helped. But the games shown were a C to C+ range at best and if you judge based not on games only but on presentation id still give the show a D to D+ since it was paced soooooo horribly. They should have cut out Iwatas presentation or started it with that and cut the Girl games out then spaced Metroid and Mario out ending the show with a montage of the new stuff or something.

It was like suffering through an hour of bad sex just to get the juicy wad at the end......ewwww that was a bad analogy.....

I'm not saying it was a good showing in general or that as a whole Nintendo's show was in the top percent, but last year it was awkward speeches and games that we have absolutely zero interest in. I think the main issue is that most of the games that were interesting were not news to us. I've see the Crystal Bearer's trailer, and we've known about KH:ds: for years now. With Sony now having the last conference and with some high-profile games/announcements already known, Nintendo's show will pretty much be an afterthought/disappointment.

Of course, much of this doesn't translate into the retail space (just look at Wii Fit last year), and Nintendo knows that.

Well first off your the guy that has in the past said that all that matters is the number of games a system receives not if their quality. So its an easy assumption to make that your trying to yet again say just because they have shown more it was better.

Second though no it wasnt equal to MS's press conference. L4D2 was new and a huge deal. Crackdown 2 was new and a large deal. MGS is new, potentially several games and a huge deal. Halo Reach was new and a huge deal. And the motion sensor was new, a huge deal and presented in a way that made Wii motion controls look bad.

I dont even like Halo very much and LOATHE the Metal Gear series where as I flipping love Mario so that was the biggest announcement of E3 on a personal level.....but I can still set aside bias and see where MS had not only a better presented conference but showed by far more new and big titles.

Again listen to joystiqs, gamerswithjobs, gametrailers bonus round and invisble walls, giant bombcast or any other industry shows or podcasts. All the talk has been how Nintendo had a crap year last year and really needed to bring it big this year.

in sales maybe but the conference was panned.Everyone was predicting either a new Mario or Zelda so its not that surprising. no one was predicting a new Zelda after we learned of Spirit Tracks at GDC. and we did get a Mario. So the fact that we also got Metroid IS a surprise. Noone thought we'd get a metroid. If you had a list of every nintendo franchise and listed which ones we thought we'd see at E3. Metroid would have been bottom rung. Kirby, Pikmin, Starfox these would have been higher than Metroid.

L4D2 came up late, but it wasn't the surprise Metroid was. Nintendo's Press Conference went from bad to good to awesome in the span of 10 minutes.

Also, don't discount Golden Sun DS. And NSMBW looked okay, not great. Now if it had wi-fi play, the discussion changes.

The numerous podcasts I listen to were all calling for most likely a new Mario game and saying if they didnt deliver Zelda it would be Metroid. Nintendo HAD to do 2 big games like this MS didnt have to show L4D2 nor was it a game that anyone thought we would see so soon. Again listen to some podcasts and watch some shows from the last 2 weeks or so.

Metroid was a surprise maybe even as big of a surprise as LFD2 but its a flipping fanboy thing to do to say Nintendo after a meh hour won based on 1 game when MS showed more. Realistically too the surprises are nice and I LOVE them however they are not what makes the show. A price drop from Sony is talked about and we already know the new PSP is coming but that wont make their of them less a big deal being officially shown.

I think the big reason people dont want motion is because they see it as waggle. If a company makes a motion controller that allows for developers to make good quality games with ease vs struggle against a crap toy remote like the Wii we will see gamers soften to the idea somewhat.

This e3 was a huge step up from last year, all three of them done alot better this year. If I were to rate the conferences it'll go Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo.

The Microsoft conference was definitely the best, great way to open the whole show. Got me really exciting about video games and the industry, but boy is my wallet going to be light after all these games I want to get.

I actually really enjoyed the Sony briefing they are definitely moving forward as a company. There were quite alot of laughs and cheers throughout and Sony made a few jokes which the audience liked, unlike Nintendo that tried joking around and it pretty much failed.

I am fixed about the Nintendo briefing it was alright but it had nothing on Microsoft or even Sony for that matter. Mario Galaxy 2 and new Metroid was a surprise though.

How so? We saw MS paint and play kick ball on stage. Then they cut to video where Peter Molyneux begged and pleaded with us to believe Milo was real. Conspicuously he was not "on-stage".
Sony's demo wasn't perfect either but at least they were really interacting with it on-stage. The Natal on-stage demo showed me what I should be able to do with the current XBL camera. The light source issues alone are going to make this thing instant junk.
Personally I'm sick of everyone trying to shove motion-control into consoles. When I want to exercise, I go to the gym.
I won't buy either device until they're clearance at Target or TRU.

The PS Motion thing, on the other hand, didn't make many promises at all. It came out, showed what it was capable of, and that was it. It's not saying it's going to change the way we play games.

I Doubt FF14 is coming out next year. I'm saying this based on the fact I can't remember any FF game coming out on time at the planned hyped year. FF12 took how long? That and Versus 13 I just kinda figured if they have the manpower to work on 14 then why have we heard nothing new from that one? It's Sony exclusive and I figure it'll turn more heads then the online based 14 (but that maybe my general bias).

Microsoft goes without saying. Sony I only gave third because man, that was a long ass press conference with not much to get me excited. Gran Turismo (both of them) looked nice, but hard to get excited for them when they were supposed to come out around launch on their respected consoles. That and FF14 just wasn't expecting and almost want to say "too soon?"

Nintendo gets second by default because man, despite hate seeing and/or hearing Cammie (plus lack of Fatal Frame announcements) they at least had some games I was happy to see. Though it almost seems routine in what they show, Nintendo REALLY needs a new IP.

Knowing how much time and effort has been put into GT, I don't think that you (or anyone) should have expected that game up for launch. GT is like a interactive digital library for cars. Plus they took photographs of inside the car to get the interiors right.

-Natal has me excited for it's non-gaming applications. If they find good uses for it with Windows 7,I'm going to wire a few HD tv's into a home server and go ape-shit.
-XBLA is getting better and better.
-Good game lineup. Not too many I'd purchase outright, but Definitely some fun looking shite.

Nintendo
-Eh,I'm pretty over motion controls, but Nintendo did way better this year.
- Metroid M is easily the most interesting title, followed by NSMB2)classic side scrolling action; what Mario games are best at).

- Galaxy 2, ehhhhh, I don't know. Galaxy was fun, but I kinda want something different.

-DS games might be their strongest weapon.

The Guitar Hero / Rock Band people take issue with that last statement, but I get your point. Though, I'd argue they aren't selling addons, as much as they're selling games that are enhanced by addons (which they can then increase the price of, since it includes the addon).

The thing that worries me about any of these new peripherals...since people will have to buy them, they won't be on every console out there. Developers that choose to make games for them are already greatly limiting their potential market before they write a single line of code. These things will only really take off if they're bundled with all consoles and/or they're giving them away.

Anyway, you know I was thinking about that, why the hell is motion controller so appealing to me now, but before I didn't care for it. I think that issue that I had w/ Nintendo is that, the motion controller was the "primary" controller and way of playing the game. Also, its like the motion on Nintendo's console was forced, there's no real standard controller that just hooks up to the system directly. With Sony and Microsoft the motion controller / camera is a secondary controller, and its not meant to releplace the basic input (controller).

Regarding the slim PS 3, it's just way too early for that. For one, they haven't dropped the price on the current PS 3, so they'll come up with a slim one and be just as expensive? So Sony is going to have 2 different consoles on the market that no one will buy? Doesn't make sense from a business perspective. Honestly, I think they haven't dropped the price b/c the PS 2 is still selling so well. It's pure profit, so its like they are basically gaining the money back from all the losses they take on the PS 3 sales.

To be honest, I'm really starting to get much more interested in the possibilities of Natal technologies, being used in the field of human/computer interface. I think that sort of thing is the foundation for some really "Star Trek" possibilities.

I think something that hasn't really been thought about is using Natal with a standard controller. Say you are playing a Star Wars game and instead of hitting a button while playing, you just stuck your hand out and choked someone and tossed them aside and went back to playing the game.

Out of all the R&D stuff shown this time around, this is the most promising. The initial video had me crying out bullshit, which it is, but the paint program seems to show what can be done. I think that they will try to push this out for next Christmas as a new sku to market it. This is their "Wii Fit" and they will try to get 3rd parties to sign up for it.

The other thing is how expensive is it to develop for? The Wii is cheap so people do these kind of games, does that mean games like Boom Blox and Madworld will be coming to the 360 in this form? Microsoft tends to have a ton of promises but this one they really have to deliver on or else it is a big egg on their face.

The Wii Motion Plus and PS3 Eye Wand look silly in comparison, I really don't think Sony or Nintendo knew that Microsoft was going to show off something like this. They just have to work on their own products to make it that much better. Surprised there is not Wii Camera yet though.
