I sold one of my GBAs to someone on ebay not too long ago. It was new, but it was a "gutted" copy, meaning they took the system out to use the box as a display. I never touched the thing, and took the store(a legitimate retailer - FYE) on their word that it was new, but today I got the following message:

need to return this item for a refund.
The system/screen does not work correctly. Even with the bright backlight on the picture on the screen is faded and blurred. It is also slow to turn off- leaving the picture on the screen for several seconds after the sytem is turned off.

Anyone know anything about this problem? For as long as I've had a gameboy the picture would always stay on the screen for a bit after you turned it off before it would fade away... I thought that was a common thing. There's no real mention of the fuzzy screen in the troubleshooting guides I've checked out either. Obviously if it comes down to it I will just do the refund but I'd like to see if I can solve the problem before going through that process. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Thats normal the screen fading thing.
Try telling that guy that.
Don't know about the blurred thing though.
If you do have to refund it, make sure you note that in your listing and mark you item
AS-IS, that way no one can return it. But be sure to describe any problems you have with it.
Works for me.

Was this one of the older ones, or one with a brighter screen? If it's an older one, I feel they always look faded and... not blurry, but pixelly, for lack of a better term... he/she may just be complaining about that?

But as far as the image staying on the screen, that has been my experience with every model of Gameboy, and certainly every SP I've seen...

yeah it's the first version, the one without the brighter backlight. I was kind of thinking that there's nothing wrong with it, so I will try and tell them that and see what happens. thanks for the help!
