There are... ways to transfer/backup saves that are locked to a console.

I guess the other solution is just to replace the Wii's casing. It would just be so much nicer if digital content was tied to an account and not a specific console.

I would assume so. Imported white remotes and accessories worked just fine on a US Wii. That was the only way I could get extras at launch (remember the nunchuck shortage?)

It is most definitely coming out in the States and it's just a matter of time until it's announced. My guess is we'll see it announced closer to the holidays so that Japan will have enough systems for the MH3 push.

According to the list in the Nintendo E3 Press Kit, MH3 is coming March 2010.

Reggie also confirmed MH3 in an interview this week, IIRC.

My guess is that the Wii's processor isn't up to it. That's, of course, just a guess. It isn't a complaint on my part as I'm perfectly happy with the graphics the Wii has. Excitebots looks fantastic on our 720p HDTV, for example. I expect Punchout to look superb too, as it did on the Gamestop's display when I played it. Maybe I'm just not so picky - I also think upscaled DVDs look great on our TV and don't see myself going BluRay any time soon as the slight difference doesn't seem worth it.

I've seen a chronicling of all the changes, but basically: grips, the secondary shoulder buttons are aligned like a Dualshock instead of the bizarre way the current CC has them, and the sticks are slightly further apart from each other.

The Wii is supposed to be more powerful than an original XBOX, which did have a few 720P and 1080i games. Thus you'd think it COULD do some stuff in high definition albeit with sacrificing some other graphical aspects.

From what I've read that's just not possible, apparently the Wii's frame buffer (where it stores individual frames while it's rendered on screen) only has enough memory to store SD frames, not HD frames.

Of course. Why bring in multi-colored cows when that old cow is still producing good milk? Nintendo will do this, eventually...when the multi-colored milk will bring in double dippers.

This makes sense and would be similar to how they rolled out the new brighter screens for GBA with those 3-4 new colors. However, I doubt they'll do this as I think they view the SD card workaround as their solution here. Which is really good enough for me, unless they make it painless to transfer all my saves and VC games to a new Wii.

Announcements Give Consumers New Options

LAS VEGAS, Aug. 31, 2009 – Nintendo today announced that the new Wii Fit™ Plus game will launch in North America on Oct. 4, and also revealed new colors for its popular Nintendo DSi™ system and for the revolutionary Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ controllers and Wii MotionPlus™ accessory. Starting Sept. 13, Nintendo DSi will be available in White and Pink, joining the Blue and Black versions already on the market.
