I probably wouldn't order something that's backordered. They charge your card immediately and seeing as they are listed discontinued games as "backordered", you may never see them.

I saw the ad for 20% off games just today in the paper. But I thought it was only for the games listed. I got a Freddies in a mile in every direction from me, so I got a lot of places to hit.

I think the sale ends this Saturday, based on regular ad behavior.

Sale is through this Saturday. Fred Meyer is a retail chain in the northwest and midwest (i believe) They are kind of like Target, only they also sell groceries. They are a major chain, so I'm sure ordering from their website is plenty safe.

First off... thanks for the thread. I live in Tacoma, but handn't heard about the sale till I came here.

Actually had read about it the other day, and kinda ignored it. But I was thinking of getting Donkey Konga, and wanted a deal. Saw Fry's might have it for $40, and though about making the drive. But I saw the Freddy's deal again, and thought "gee, if they have any...".

So I called them and they had 5 in stock, besides confirming the sale. While the game and controller run up at $50, the gal took $10 off at the register, and I got it for $40 without 70 miles of driving! And I was able to get the battery replaced in my Fossil watch at the Jewelry dept., so I killed 2 birds with one stone. Bad saying to use on the day the family cat got put down...

ANYWAY... thanks to you all for post about deal! Really appreciated it!!!

I too tried to get Konga tonight and they said it was an accessory and not a video game software package. I will probably check again tomorrow and see if I can get the discount. I would understand if it was for just the Bongos, but this is the only way to get the game since it isn't offered alone. Keep you posted if things work out.

The bad news is, for some reason my Fred Meyer decided to put glass up so you can't actually touch the games (this way they stay in order, even though they are still in theft-proof cases behind the glass!!!!).

You can get it preowned from Gamestop B&M fairly easily for 15 bucks. With the coupon from game informer and your card it becomes 12 bucks so that's always an option.

Stopped by FMeyer today and did get Donkey Konga for 20% off. It didn't ring up with the discount, but the guy had to check with the manager first. Both agreed that it is a video game, so they didn't see why I shouldn't get the video game discount. Might be a YMMV sort of thing, good luck.

I also got Donkey Konga for 20% off. I just asked the employees if it was part of the discount and they said yes. It wasn't taken off, so they sent me to Customer Information (Service) and I got $10 back. When wanting to get Donkey Konga with the bongos, it's def. YMMV and nice employees. Check back other days, I think.

Visited three FMs today. Picked up Donkey Konga and Chains of Promathia (see 20% off computer software in FM ads this weekm I used it) at the first. At the second, didn't see much except there was two Bombastics and I remember someone saying they wanted to buy them all at their FM. Third FM, got a clearance Frequency for like $8, the other copy had a price of $19.97 while the copy I had reserved the other day was priced $9.97. Also got Donkey Kong and Zelda for GBA. Forgot to look for Midway Arcade Treasures.

Clearance inventory varies from store to store. The third FM was the only one that didn't have all their games locked behind glass, which I liked to look at prices for.
