Found this comparison. The biggest difference between the 2000 and 3000 is in the screen. More contrast and better response time. So you have to ask yourself if a slightly nicer screen is worth ~$50. I think the 2000 is a good deal at this price.

Yes. A lot of people think it's the best PSP because there were some minor interlacing issues with the 3000. I don't have my 2000 modded and I use it almost every day. It's a great system.

The 1000, 2000 and 3000 can download all of the same games.

The Go is smaller, has 16 GB of internal flash (useless for CFW users) and Bluetooth (imo, an overrated feature).

Incorrect. The psp-2000 ghosts more than the 3000. The 3000 the pixels are arranged horizontally instead of vertically this causes the interlacing which is what you are thinking of.

Really both issues are pretty minor.

IMHO the ghosting on the PSP2000 is minimal.. you really have to be looking for it.... also.. just FYI... there are recent developments in the modding community for the psp2000... i will leave it at that

I will say this though... a higher contrast ratio would totally make resistance: retribution look better... when the gamma is on low, its nearly impossible to see anything

Just to clarify that 2000 is NOT better than 3000. Better contrast ratio combo with much less ghosting and display lag makes 3000 better than 2000. I had 2000 and upgraded to 3000 with no regret.

hmm... I never thought I would be interested in a PSP. I never have been interested in any of its games. But I also never thought I would see them going new for less than either my DS or DSlite were purchsed for. Since I do have a PS3, maybe it would be good for some remote play and PSone downloads (FFVII on the go!). Also, I love me some innovative homebrew.

My only hesitation is that it is a 2000. But it sounds divided whether 2000 or 3000 is superior, unlike the DS's many updates, which are always hands down better than the previous. I am thinking I should order sooner than later...

Oh, and I'm with Rig. Lunar would mean instant buy.

i have had some problems when pressing "up" and i end up also pressing a diagonal as well.. this is on the psp2000 model.. dont know if anyone else has experienced this (it happened in resistance from time to time)

so far i have played daxter and resistance retribution... awesome games and finished both of them... i also feel that the missions were tailored well for a portable system... not too long..not too short... in all honesty i like this more than my DS... i get a more vivid experience because of the better graphics/sound....

like for my ds... i feel that some of the other game experiences aren't as robust as this.. so IMHO i like my psp better... but the DS has way more games at higher ratings... so yeah..

BUT if you have a DS...and your looking into either getting a psp or a dsi... i would suggest getting a PSP... however... if you already have a 1000... this really isn't worth the upgrade..

Lastly, i am a little concerned with support for UMDs and games... when the go is finally released..Will all games be downloaded from PSN? Will UMD counterparts happen? (this is not likely because patapon 2 was a PSN exclusive release where you would buy the case and simply get a redemption code inside...)

Also, with all games moving to the PSN.. will we have to buy bigger memory cards? Will we have to DL 1.5gbs of a video game and hold it on a memory card..

MAYBE someone who has bought patapon 2 can answer this question.. If you erase patapon 2 from your memcard... can you "re download" it for free? Is there a fixed amount of times you CAN redl it?

I almost bit and bought a 3000 from Dell with the 15% off deal, but this one is much better. I can deal with the 2000 screen as I'm borrowing the one my sister found on a plane and the screen looks totally fine to me, especially for $112. Just tried out my Tekken Dark Resurrection, Burnout Dominator, Killzone Liberation and Monster Hunter Freedom and they look great. Can't say it's worth getting a 3000 for $169 or waiting for a PSP Go for $250 over this deal...I say jump on it now, avoid the rush when Tekken s and Soul Calibur Broken Destiny come out. :twisted:

I don't know why everyone compares this to the iTouch. One is built around gaming and the other music. That comparison just bugs the crap out of me.

Basically, if you want a portable gaming console then go with the PSP.
If you want a dedicated music player then go with the itouch. There really isn't much depth to gaming with an iTouch.

Granted they do similar tasks but they are in different leagues. Maybe one day Apple will enter the console realm but I don't belive the iTouch is it.

My PSP is charging! Yay! I hope they charge as fast as new DSs do. I still need memory and games though.:-#

I thought the listing on Dell's website said it came with earbuds and a small memory stick. Maybe they had one of the bigger pack descriptions by mistake. I have never followed PSP stuff because I was never interested before now. Oh well.

I don't think it's so much that they aren't on top of things, it's just that they'd have to send the unique message they sent to all the 3GS Preorders who were about to receive early shipments (before street date).

I got the same thing, my order was delayed yesterday. I woke up today (an hour ago) pleasantly surprised that it had shipped. Don't worry about it.

EDIT: HOLY SHIT!

My order was apparently shipping the 16th, and they have tried to deliver it the 17th and 18th. I've been out of town for work (and my gf came along), so nobody has been there to sign for it. Insanely fast shipping!

Thankfully, we will be back tonight, so she can sign for it tomorrow.
