sure it is! The picture in the BUZZ e-newsletter for this promo shows Sega Superstar Tennis and Mario Sluggers. Punch out is sports just as much as they are.

Went to my local Blockbuster, and this is what I found-out:

1. This offer only lets you get 50% off a used sports game per game rental. So if you rent 1 game, you can only buy 1 previously used sports game at 50% off.

2. This offer does not apply to wrestling and UFC games. Manager at my local Blockbuster said it might not apply for Madden and NHL games too, but he wasn't completely sure.

got skate 2 after the manager at my store called another manager and then the district manager. they hadn't heard of the sale yet and were not sure if skate 2 was considered a sports game. they read an email where it listed which games were NOT included, but skate wasn't on the list, so i got it. probably ymmv, but you should be able to get it.

I can confirm the 2/30 BluRay. Got Quantum of Solace, and the manager pulled a WallE. Though the deal isn't as great as it seems, since most of the BluRays I saw were $15.99-- and some were even 9.99!

I just picked up NHL 2K9 for the PS3 and got it 50% off, so NHL should be fair game.

Got a copy of Skate 2 today for $24.99 and I didn't even need to rent a game with it. :) Pretty much the price I was waiting to get the game at since it came out.

I picked up MLB 09 the show (really tough to find) yesterday. They claimed that it was an 09 game and they won't sell it to me at a 50% discount. I then just said that it doesn't say that anywhere on the website, and proceeded to show him on my phone that it absolutely shows no restrictions on what sports games qualify.

There's no reason why UFC should excluded from the list. Maybe wrestling ;)

And it worked :) Finally got a decent deal on MLB 09, when i should have pre-ordered it on amazon with the $10 discount back in february.
