EDIT: Confirmed in Albuquerque, NM. I picked up GT:5 Prologue for $9.98, and I saw R&C for $14.98 (I already own a copy). Both had "Greatest Hits" stickers on the outside of the packaging, both were in the normal non-GH cases. Also, as many have said, they were behind the glass case and had actual shelf price stickers listing $9.98 and $14.98, respectively.

These 2 games are part of the new PS3 Greatest Hits titles which officialy launched yesterday. Target has been getting in new copies because of this, but haven't updated the DPCI #s for these.

It happens quite often with the inventory system Target uses.

Expect the prices to be raised sooner rather than later. This is not a case where Target wants to get rid of the regular version before the GH version comes out. As someone already mentioned, they simply reactivated the products at their last known prices and will probably fix that soon.

I work on the team that resets the inventory, and pricing labels at my local Target. This is 100% legit, picked up GT5: Prologue for the mentioned $9.98. These are the only titles that have wrong/discounted pricing, though I did notice that MGS4 was still $39.99 and not reduced to $29.99 on this same set.

As I already stated a few times this price will end at any moment and the Greatest Hits pricing of $29.99 will kick in. The reason nearly every store has these now even though both were clearanced long ago is because they were restocked for the Greatest Hits "launch" for these titles. It is simply a glitch that they are using the last clearance pricing (75% off the original MSRP in both cases) as of now. Get 'em while you can!

Just hit the Countryside, IL store. They had both with the price tags on the shelf marked at $10 and $15.

However, when GT was scanned it came up $30. I wasn't prepared to make a stink and told the girl not to sweat it. Fortunately, I ended up getting it for $10, but they turned the tags around. Talk about fantastic timing.

Just got back from a target a few miles from me, and I was able to get R&C for the 15bucks, but no GT :( i wanted that one, ahh well, the first target i went to didn't have either, alteast i was able to get in on R&C, so can't complain to much. haha, I actually bought it because of the adrenaline rush of actually finding the games. I returned it without leaving the store because I remembered how bored/angry/annoyed I got with GT3. Can't wait to start R&C though

This happens all the time. Perhaps it is simply hourly employees who regularly do price changes based on what the computer tells them. They simply go through the motions. When the computer is updated, they will change the prices. This would explain why Best Buy employees actually print .01 labels and price the strategy guides for sale. We all know they are supposed to pull them, but they simply do what they always do.

Not a chance. Target's last price in the computer system was $9.98 for clearance of GT5P. When they decided to restock the GH version, they brought the SKU back from the dead. When they did, nobody noticed it was at an old clearance price, and not the GH price. Somebody in accounting or marketing will eventually pickup on this price and correct it in the POS system. this deal is likely to last a day to two. they did the same exact thing with Far Cry 2. It clearance and they went GH, they didn't update the price to reflect the GH price.

Sent my old man for both games. He had them scanned (but not rung up) and they came up at $39.99 and $59.99. He told the employee to ring them up for him anyway and he replied it would be the same price. Do they ring up at the $9.xx and $14.xx prices or is there a reason why this Target would have them at the higher prices?
