EVERY time (3 times I tried) I've bought anything used from their website, no box, no manual and a disk that looks like it was owned by a 6 year old with ADHD and a pack of steel wool. At least in the store I can see what I'm buying. I swear they ship all the bad disks out for the website orders.

Sorry to hear that, but buying from them online is a hit and miss. First time I ordered online was back in Nov.08 when they had a b2g1 promo. Everything came with the box, manual, and even one of them still had a unused 48 trial card. The discs weren't perfect, but looked like normal wear (a small scratch here and there). I can only hope my order will be fully intact. If not, I'll go to the local gamestop to switch it.

Just picked up Red Faction, Halo Wars LE and MK vs DC Kollector's Edition. Trading Halo Wars on Goozex (1200 pts) and returning my regular edition of MK vs DC with the receipt to hopefully grab that RE5 Limited Edition I saw in another store yesterday. Then will do the same thing (return my regular edition copy with that receipt) to get...I dunno...something.

In for Mass Effect, Shadow of the Colossus and Conker Live and Reloaded for about $35 after tax.

Found nothing great for PS3, which is what I was aiming for, but got 3 games Ive been wanting to get. Figure Conker won't get any cheaper than $17 used, Shadow and Mass Effect were both priced right at $14 used so not a bad deal.

Oh I forgot to mention, the 25% off all XBox games is supposed to work on top of this B2G1 deal. Unfortunately the store I went to had nothing but disc only sports games making up 95% of the XBox selection.

But if you can find some of the LucasArts Jedi games as well as some of the other quality XBox games, this should be a sweet way to score some of these without having to wait for the 50% and 75% off clearance (and risk most of the good stuff being long gone).

Are you sure because they usually never let two promos to be stacked unless override. Is it the same manager who let you stack the B2G1 with the GBA coupon?

I got half way home, and decided to check the tiger 10 disc to make sure it was in good condition. I almost had a conniption. In the case was Tiger 09. I called them back of course. In the end, they just charged me $10 more for a new copy. And I kept the other two games.

Yea I had to go back and forth to different Gamestops to get those. It was a pain in the ass but well worth it. I did see some Fatal Frame games but each store had only one kind (ex. Fatal Frame 1, 2 or 3) and less than half of those were not complete.

Also, at $40+ for each (before the deal and edge) I passed because I didn't have that much money left. Maybe next time.

NBA Street Homecourt - Just really wanted to play this and it's the last of the Street series.

College Hoops 2K8 - EA's NCAA game just isn't my cup of tea. Plus, the Operations Sports community will be coming out with 2009-2010 rosters.

Rock Revolution - Even if it isn't even an average game, as the free game it seemed interesting to check out the games. Worth getting seeing as how I have a full band kit for RB and GH.

I agree. I asked some Gamestop employees to hold a couple games while I went upstairs and checked the EBGames in the SAME mall, but that's about all I would expect them to do. I found what I wanted up there and came back and told them, but I doubt most people would even do that, so why should they hold things for you?

generally it depends on how new and popular something is. Fear 2, dead rising, bionic commando..etc, SURE they will hold those.

Infamous, Prototype, Ghostbusters....uum yeah dont expect to be so lucky. With just released popular games, if they do hold them, most times they give attitude because they wanted to buy, or "rent" it themselves:lol:

On another topic, I have noticed the used game locator not working either, even through google. Newer games that I KNOW are in stores show "not within 100 miles". Sacred 2 for both systems is at several gamestops within 20 miles..wtf? :bomb:

You really need to know someone at the store to get that bennefit. I alway make it a point to know the manager at my local store as they change. They can hold things for you or give you coupons that you might not know about. This has worked well for me and my kids. Also its just nice to know the people running the business. some of the GS's I just wont go to because of employees just dont know how to deal with people. If you can't do that the people like me will just go to another store and spend my cash. I can't beleive they have not down sized yet in my area. I bet its coming though.

It's policy for them to hold games until closing if you ask. The guy who ended up helping me later and searched the place high and low until he realized it had been sold off, got pretty flush as he explained the situation to me. So yes it is their job.

You also have to remember if one employee holds some games for you, other employees might not know those games are held. I asked an employee to hold some games for me once, he told me that he was gonna place them in X drawer, come back two hours later another employee was working, told him where it was. Now that I think about it, if they were bought within those two hours, it would have been my lost.

So I went to Gamestop to return Gradius and I managed to replace it with DBZ Budukai Tenkaichi. From then on, I went crazy with my gaming purchases. The only issue I had was with Metal Slug Anthology where the case was available and the game was not. All seemed well until I ended up getting bit by vanishing inventory, as the time between me placing my order and gamestop processing it, they went from having used copies of Fear 2 available within 24 hours to backorder, to currently unavailable online. I haven't played much of either (I only have Infamous), but "open world game with superpowers" seems pretty much like the exact opposite of limited replay value to me. These games being released so close to eachother will most likely hurt the sales of both, though.

They are slower in processing the orders with the SAVER shipping so it will likely take a couple of days for your order to ship. But the shipping is fairly fast. Last time I ordered from them, I had my game in 6-7 days after placing the order.

I can only speak for infamous ,as that is the only one I own, and it is extremely fun. Great made game. Got it day 1. Prototype, on the other hand, does not strike my interest at all, and does look to me as if it would get boring quite fast. The action looks fast and hard, and there are alot of powers, but I feel those are major drawbacks to the game. Personally, everything looks like it would just get old fast (very repetitive looking). But that it my opinion, and without playing the game. I will give it a shot one day.

My local store has Classic Mario Brothers for the GBA. It's way overpriced at $29.99 but its the cheapest I've seen. I mean if you are going to beat a game in a day or two you should probably spend 5 bucks and rent it instead of 60 to buy it and then turn around and trade it in for what I imagine is less than 40 bucks (I never trade anything so I dont know) two days later.

Im guessing either people with more money than brains or shop lifters fencing their ill gotten gains, but I don't really know. I mean if you are going to beat a game in a day or two you should probably spend 5 bucks and rent it instead of 60 to buy it and then turn around and trade it in for what I imagine is less than 40 bucks (I never trade anything so I dont know) two days later.

I was looking for red faction with no luck.

People with money is it. I have a few freinds that wont buy ANYTHING pre-owned even a video game. If it does not fit they sell it or just give it away. I'm just too cheap so I don't mind it. I could buy everything new I just like having cash lot more :D

And not I'm off to GS anyway just to take a look around. Still some quaulity PS2 games I guess I can look at. I need a PS2 exclusive list though.

They are slower in processing the orders with the SAVER shipping so it will likely take a couple of days for your order to ship. But the shipping is fairly fast. Last time I ordered from them, I had my game in 6-7 days after placing the order.

I dont know if i just lucked out, but for this sale I took advantage of the SAVER free shipping. Usually I still pay the extra money for UPS ground or standard shipping so I can get a tracking number for my package, but I wanted to be a little more cheap this time around. I placed my order Friday morning 6/19 and by that evening my order had shipped. They used UPS 3-day select even with the free super-saver shipping!

Probably won't use the card too much but at least I'll get some new bathroom reading material. :D Anyway, I didn't get several of the games I planned to because they didn't have their original covers. I'm not going to spend over $5 on a game with no cover OR manual.

Got a laugh at the hood store as well. A man brought back Punch Out for Wii because someone in his family would not believe that they could play it without the Balance Board. He had to put the girl behind the counter on the phone to reassure them and he left with the game. Talk about needing to RTFM! :D

How are you guys finding so many copies of new games used? I'm jealous. I believe we now have 8 gamestops within the 100 mile search radius and none of them have a single copy of infamous or red faction (or ico but apparently that's to be expected).
