I just got word from my manager that there should be a B2G1 sale starting tonight at 7 p.m. on used games and accessories again. I'm sure it'll go until closing on Sunday at 6 p.m. I can't say that I have 100% confidence in this since I haven't seen an official email myself, but my manager has been 100% accurate so far when he tells me these things.

If you're anything like me, this means you have from now until then to study your excel spreadsheets of the games you want, check the online store locator, and make a plan of attack! :bouncy:

If anyone else has heard anything else about this, please feel free to confirm.

EDIT1: Most employees won't know anything about this because GameStop doesn't update their systems to reflect the B2G1 promotion until Friday morning. The reason it says "7 p.m." is so that stores can set up for it by opening on Friday. If you don't want hassle or drama, you may be better off to wait until Friday morning to go out.

EDIT2: It looks like the computers somehow recognized the sale after 7 p.m., and sales rang up without issues or manual entries. Before 7 p.m. was YMMV per store. GameStop.com doesn't seem to be working for B2G1 quite yet, but it should be fairly soon. Maybe by midnight?

Also, for those who are new, the B2G1 promotion does not stack with any other promotions except EDGE cards. No 20% off coupons, no 25% off XBOX games. Obviously, the cheapest of the three items will be free. The computer will automatically give you the best deal. Yes, you may combine used products, such as a used accessory AND Wii game AND 360 game.

Finally, I urge you not to rely too heavily on calling your local GameStop. As someone mentioned earlier, no extra hours were given to staff the sale, so associates will be VERY busy over the weekend, and customers in the store will get first priority. Your phone service mileage may vary is all I'm saying.

Buying a used Pokemon cart is always a crapshoot, you may get a save with 10 hours played and 5 common pokes, or you could get a 100+ hour save with all kinda goodness.

Of course, I could always return the games after I migrate all the good pokes out of it... but I would never do that. ;)

Long answer: You should be able to without a problem. For the last B2G1, I simply asked if it would be a problem and were happy to oblige. But even if they don't want to, they still have to accept your return. The worst thing that could happen is they don't let you rebuy the returned games right away. But if there are other copies on the shelf, that's not a problem at all.

The only downside is our allocated hours haven't changed because of the sale... SO if the store you go to is slammed, be patient, they don't give us extra hours for this stuff.

Also, some games you may not be able to find online used, just call your regular store and have them run a search for you. Again, if they're busy, be patient.

The sale will start at 7pm in the west! Because it technically starts after close on thursday, stores on the east coast may have to wait until tomorrow for the sale to process.
It will run through close on sunday.

If you want to return your free game:
Do it DURING the sale and you must return ALL three. Doing it any other way is complicated and may allow for fraudulent returns. We are not supposed to do it any other way without doing a return on the other two. This is new policy.

The free game can be returned provided you return the other two as well... If you want to return a game you paid for, many stores will require both other games at the time of return, because if you don't purchase two, you don't keep the free game.

There are not a ton of specified rules surrounding the b2g1 returns, so a lot of the stores will do what they want.

The computer automatically decides what would be the better deal based on the savings of each deal. Unfortunately, you can't combine these 2 particular deals however you may stack/use the EDGE card in conjunction for an extra 10% off.

Usually when we run to discount promotions it will take the best one. Our employee discount doesn't stack with the b2g1, and will only work if it gives a better discount (so say, we buy 3 used games and a new one, then the promotions work together).

Much like with trade, if you were to pick up Fight Night 4 and trade in 3 360 games for it, it would give you the better deal or the 10$ extra trade credit instead of the power trade 20%, if you traded in 5 games, it would give you both.

Well Bioshock was a great FPS but if your starting to like quick action games go for Dead Rising as its a great game and tons of fun.

Absolutely agree on Mass Effect. It is a must play no matter what. Gears is highly rated and certainly a lot of fun with friends/online but it is painful playing single player with AI teammates. COD and Halo are staples, can't really go wrong with them, especially on live.

Some of my SP recommendations (some are probably really obvious): Ace Combat 6, Resident Evil 5, GTA4, Saints Row 2, Street Fighter 4. If you like sports, get the EA sports games but NOT the 2k ones.

good luck with the way GS/EB are tampering with the newer releases used on their website.... if you havent noticed, even if they are in new or used, they dont list them as being any available withing xx amount of miles.

The best thing to do in that situation is go to the closest store and ask them to check their computer to see if anyone in the area has the used game(s) you want.

I have both and I'd say go with 2. The graphics are almost the same but you can run (a la cod4) in 2 so it speeds up the game a bit. The coop terrorist hunt online is really good in 2 as well since there's more people playing.

If you guys need another game I strongly suggest brothers in arms hells highway, it's only 17.99 also. The game has amazing graphics and ordering multiple squads around in a shooter is not something we have seen this gen. The gore is gangster since there's a slow mo kill cam when you blow up the nazis. Some times the body explodes in half and you can see the spinal cord. it is nice.

Don't know what I'm going to get tomorrow, I doubt I'll be able to find prototype used in the atlanta area. we'll see

Also, for those who are new, the B2G1 promotion does not stack with any other promotions except EDGE cards. No 20% off coupons, no 25% off XBOX games. Finally, I urge you not to rely too heavily on calling your local GameStop. Can someone explain why they'd order the games online instead of going to the store? Ordering online means no guarantee as far as condition of the game, the case, cover art, manual, etc. You pay tax regardless and you have to wait for it to ship. I just do not see why you'd even bother?

The nearest Gamestop is 19 miles away. I'm not driving up there for a few games.

I'll order online the "hard to reach" games that are not at stores near me(or disc-only near me). B2G1 is a good opportunity to scoop up some older stuff that is probably going to be disc only, although I've had some good luck in the past in getting complete games. If not, I'll print out a cover and hey, at least I got the game. Just don't dilly-dally too long because stuff can go OOS by Sunday nite.

Good to hear free shipping is automatic over $25 too. Edit: or is it just the ebgames site?

It does that for new games because they are in/out of stock so quick, it doesn't make sense to track them.

My store had a copy of Sacred 2, Infamous, and Red Faction, but it didn't show up on the tracker because they only had one and all three of those would probably be gone in hours.

The sale is live buddy. Try logging out, clear your cookies, then add the items to your card and apply the coupon again. I just tested and it works. You might want to try a different browser too. Firefox (or whatever you're using) could be caching an old page.

I'm wondering because I'm looking for a copy of prototype and none of my gamestops have them yet so I might just get some $50+ games and replace one of them with prototype when I find it.
