Wow. How does one get an EPP code?
Businesses and Universities have them. To get the price you'll need to go through the EPP site as well. I think EPP saves you about 7%. The $149 monitor today was $139 through EPP.

You don't need any code to use EPP. I've ordered several times without one. Just go to. www.Dell.com/epp (http://www.Dell.com/epp) and choose anything from the pull down menu to get the discount.

I don't think this deal will stack with EPP, unless the random business association (small-medium) I chose was a bad one.
That, or I just don't know what the fuck I'm doing.

Still showing up at $129.99 even with an EPP login, but will be good to see the price tomorrow AM.

I don't know what I'm doing either, because I haven't found a way to make this thing cost $103...

The PSP in the EPP site is a different part number and different price than the one linked in the email I received. I'm guessing this is the 3000 model? I have my doubts that you will be able to use EPP to get that one for $103. Still, $109 isn't bad.

EPP doesn't work but it is now $109.99 at Dell Home:
Use the DPA trick to get an extra 3% off. :) Total = $106.69 + tax.

When you say DPA "trick," does this require you to have an existing DPA account or is there some way to get the discount without ever signing up for an account?

I want to jump on this deal so badly, I am just not sure I really need one of these right now, I almost would rather wait for a PSPgo.

For some reason I can't get into my EPP store right now. This is tempting though to pick up a second one (Plus I don't like the silver of my current one).
I kind of want to try a 3000 though.
Gregneid, remember that the Go doesn't add anything that even the original PSP couldn't do.

Come on, be a CheapAssGamer.
Keep in mind the PSP Go will cost $269.99 when it comes out (plus tax/shipping), and WILL NOT support UMD. I doubt Sony will make all previous titles available for download, so if you only had the PSP Go, you'd miss out on a substantial portion of the PSP library. Besides, even for titles than can be later downloaded, you can probably find the UMD for cheaper somewhere online or in a brick and mortar retailr.
Also keep in mind $269.99 - $103 = $166.66 of devilishly good savings for this PSP model!!!!!!
Plus, it has a bigger screen than the PSP Go.
Wolfpup
06-24-2009, 10:28 AM
Yeah, the bigger screen alone makes it a nice upgrade from the Go, even if you only wanted to download games for some reason.
But...GRRR, I got into EPP, and it's saying "please call ... to order this item" or something like that. I guess it's probably already selling out? I've never seen that before. Oh well, I already have one, so I probably shouldn't be greedy anyway.

can someone explain what epp is ?
EPP = Employee Purchase Plan
Essentially it is the price that Dell employees would pay for the item. Companies that do business with Dell may set-up agreements to allow their employees to get the EPP discounts. They may also give those prices to universities, etc. as well. They just assign each company a code.
From what I can tell, there are also two other differences between EPP and non-EPP besides price:
No EPP code = $110 for the black PSP2000 (no free shipping?)
Offer valid 6/24/09, 6am CT to 6/25/09, 6am CT
EPP code = $103 for the same thing plus Free Shipping
Offer valid 6/24/09, 6am CT to 6/26/09, 5:59am CT

You need an existing account or you need to apply for one. You get instant approval and can check out with DPA even if you don't have an account yet.
The "trick" is basically to choose "Pay with one credit card online" during checkout, then Dell will take you to a page saying "Pay with DPA to save 3% on this order"..click that and check out with DPA for an additional 3% discount.

Yeah, I was thinking about this too. Like when you look at it this way:
$110 (PSP) + $25 (2 GB Stick) + $40 (Dissidia) = $175
You'd only be saving about $25 (minus Advent Children, if you really care about that).
Not sure if I'd choose that over a 3000 model.

I got the email advertising $103 as well, if I click on the link in the email I get a web page advertising all the deals and showing the PSP-2000 as $110 and asking that I call in order to purchase it. If I log in via my EPP account and browse to the PSP-2000 is shows up as the full $170.
I picked up the PSP-2000 last week with the $113 deal they were running, but this deal looks like you may need to call in order to get the $103 deal they are advertising.

It's actually $249.99 with free shipping at Amazon. You also forgot to mention that the PSPgo comes with 16gb of storage built in.

Still more than a 2000/3000 with a 16GB memory stick though.
I hate the sealed battery too :(
It sucks too, because the PSP is such a great platform. It's like just play the Syphon Filter games to see that-those would have been AMAZING on the last gen systems, let alone on a PORTABLE! The developer actually said they had to really struggle to port the first one to the PS2, that the PSP handles more geometry and textures, which is just insane when you think about it.
I just hate to see stuff going down the road of activation.

Businesses and Universities have them. To get the price you'll need to go through the EPP site as well. I think EPP saves you about 7%. The $149 monitor today was $139 through EPP.
I was asked if I was an EPP member, and I told them I wasn't sure when I purchased the 23 Inch monitor for $149. Obviously I'm not one (or they'd have given me the discount), but when I placed the 24 Inch Monitor they had on sale for $189 the other day into my cart (to see what the price would be)
it automatically added the EPP discount. I still didn't bite on it though ($185 plus w/ Tax).

There is a craigslist listing in Cape Cod for a 1000 model that is in excellent condition.
The only thing thats wrong with it is that you cant play games with it
LOL - a game machine that doesn't play games. Just what everyone wants.

Guys I'm pretty sure the PSP on the EPP site is the PSP 3000 for $159. The one at Dell.com is the PSP 2000 but it is now gone. Also, I'm pretty sure signing up for a DPA account involves a credit check. I don't think that's worth a mere 3% savings, unless you shop at Dell frequently..
