EB employees always look at me like like I'm crazy when I refuse to buy gutted copies. "But it's not used...it's still a new copy!". Thankfully, I was able to get a sealed copy of Tomb Raider today.

This has started to bug me as well. Whenever I ask for a sealed copy of a game the EB employees always look at me like I'm retarded or something!

Generally I take the artwork out when doing it now... but it still damages the plastic. Why can't they use those rectangular normal stickers that come off easily like MOST places? And DON'T leave any residue?

Instead of using like 16 stickers... Seriously -- They use like 4 stickers. One for the side, one for the back, one for the front, and the pointless "seal"

Yesterday, my local EB had no LE's left in stock so they called 3 other locations and they didn't have any either. They said that they were hoping to get people to buy up some of their huge stockpile of regular edition used copies indtead!

It is also confirmed that SW: TFU and TC: End War (PS3 only) are on sale tomorrow and Friday respectively.

Took the last copy LE at Montreal Place Versailles, the guy had to search to find them. It was still sealed... it was not in perfect condition but good enough for me, same price for the music disc and blu-ray.

All of these daily doorcrashers are limited to the stock on hand and are designed to clear out non-selling stock and it's not really a bait and switch if it's an unadvertised deal and only a small fraction of the public is actually aware of the sale.

1) First dibs go to local purchasers because I got it from a store here, so I want to give back to the people who worked/couldn't make it in locally.

I got one from langley, one from maple ridge, and one from Coquitlam Centre Mall. As I said before, Lougheed had only one left and someone on the phone called asking for one... So i left it for him if he decided to go down.

I'm not a dick/hoarder/flipper, so I didn't want to be mean to the locals.

Also note: The one copy I still have to sell is the only non-sealed copy because all the coquitlam centre ones were "gutted". Unfortunately, this means that the LE has a sticker right on the motherfucking card board artwork at the front (I HATE fucking EB/Gamestop). Still, the price was good for anyone who wants the little blemish. The two sealed copies -- I kept one for myself, and one someone sent me a PM right after I posted the message above on my iPhone.

I don't know what BBV is thinking with the $10 TIV... I haven't seen it advertised anywhere so it doesn't seem like they're using it to draw people into the store.

As for Mirror's edge, while it had some innovative things, I found it very frustrating at many parts and couldn't wait to finish it and just be done with it. It's the closest any game has gotten to making me want to throw a controller (which I have never, ever done)

Conestoga Mall is out of FEAR2 360, about 5 (or maybe more in the back?) PS3 left. Used copies have not dropped in price, so they are more expensive than new today.

I'm having trouble getting mine out of the cardboard sleeve though. Seriously, I tried for about 5 mins and gave up since I didn't want to rip it.

Conestoga Mall is out of FEAR2 360, about 5 (or maybe more in the back?) PS3 left. Used copies have not dropped in price, so they are more expensive than new today.

I'm having trouble getting mine out of the cardboard sleeve though. Seriously, I tried for about 5 mins and gave up since I didn't want to rip it.

Yeah, it seems that all of the copies of the game have that same problem... I read somewhere that making it cold it can help to remove it, so right now mine is sitting in my freezer :)

Skate It and Scarface are both $15 (used) and worth playing at that price, and some other decent titles are sitting at sub-$20 pricepoints too. Still, I was hoping that Wii owners would see at least one game get a price cut other than Animal Crossing. [edit: Oh.. I didn't realize that GH3 was on sale for Wii also. Still not that impressed, but at least there was something.]

Actually, the EB Games i went to in Kingston, was selling Sonic Unleashed brand new for $14.99 on the same day that FEAR 2 was $19.99. Not sure if it is always going to be that price, but when i went to Best Buy a few doors down, they had Sonic Unleashed for around $50.

it's been a part of the US gamestop sale (at $20)...i kinda doubt it happens, but it wouldn't be too far off as there's been at least a bit of overlap in the two sales from what i've seen so far.

Not exactly part of Game Days, but I just got home with a copy of King's Quest Collection; this is literally the first time i've seen it in the wild. And it being 15 bucks doesn't hurt either.

Now I have to find a way to grab that copy of Vampyre story.

It's like a slot machine. Throw out enough sweet deals to make it worth coming back for more, but not enough good stuff that they're actually losing money.

Some people just look at online websites like this one, but many others will make visits to an actual store. If even a small percentage of that traffic results in sales then the door crashers on old stock are probably worthwhile - especially since they end up selling more than just deeply discounted items on those "off" days.

The story is pretty sweet. The battle system is totally different - some like it, some hate it. Once you get used to it, there's quite a bit of strategy involved. Some people complain that you can't choose spells for each individual character and instead simply tell a squad to "use combat moves that total 110AP", but once you get used to it you're fairly intuitive as to what is going to be used, as well as saving you a whole lot of time choosing commands. The graphics are pretty good, and it's a looong RPG, well worth the $10. I pre-ordered it at launch and feel I got my money out of it. That said, the game got horrible reviews largely based on the lag produced by the graphics engine - which, I might add, is largely fixed (I found it unnoticable while others have found it just to be 'improved') by installing the game to the hard drive.

That makes no sense, they have reduced the trade value of all games that went on special, so they wouldn't benefit from trading.
