The case was even damaged a bit, but other than my minor quirks, it was a very good purchase.

Bencher if you can make it to Yonge and Steeles the EB Games there is pretty solid, I find; not the one in the mall, but the one literally at Yonge and Steeles. Manager is a real nice guy, and knows how to treat customers.

I have had a few employees claim to be the manager there before (even though they weren't even assistants). The actual manager is named Adam. A friend of mine got in an argument with him over which titles were trade 3 deals. He hadn't updated the board over the cash and refused to check the binder and said that he wouldn't accept the games my friend had even if they were $8 because he "didn't need" any of the titles. He then said not to bother going to any of the other locations because he is the general manager of all 3 stores in that area and he would call ahead so my friend would be denied. Originally I thought he was just having a bad day. I went there again a few weeks later and overheard him telling one of his employees not to accept certain games from "Asians" because "they were buying games cheap to trade in for ds's and resell on ebay". I was offended by his racist remarks and haven't shopped in that location since. I have a feeling this is a high traffic location because it's in a mall so he just doesn't care if he loses customers.

Picked up the Witcher for PC (Regular Edition) for $9.89 today. Awesome deal not only because it's a great game, but with the patches that have been released (1.4 and 1.5) you get all the content from the Enhanced and Director's Cut editions.

First store I tried only had gutted copies (which I refused to buy on principal), second store had some sealed copies. Fortunately both are on my way home so I didn't have to go out of my way.

Also managed to grab a copy of Socom. I like tactical shooters, and it's nice to support local developers.

Well Placebo confirmed that it was $19.98 (Not too sure how accurate he is, sorry Placebo heh) so I'm fairly confident he is correct. i actually didnt like GTA4 that much at all. to me, the best was either the original or vice city. i would pay plenty for a LE of that game (if it existed). i can understand the fear of hoarders but the game isnt that good for it's value. it starts slow buts get amazing from midway to finish.
i know it starts slow and takes time to get used to.
it took me months before i gave it a second try i was so bored.
(i phucking loved every minute of san andreas and vice city!)

but once it gets going you want to see it through.
and it never once phucks you over with controller-throwing-style hard missions.

i'm glad i finished it. and it i liked the branching stories with the bioware-style moral decisions.
and lost & damned just rocked my ass off.
i bet the ballad of gay tony is awesome too.

Yeah, agreed. I'd totally bite on this if I didn't have the game, but having already paid 60 dollars for the game originally, can't pay another 40 just for the CE contents.

I live out east, and while it's no Toronto, even we have a spot that has five stores (Futureshop, Blockbuster, 2 EB Games, and a local non-chain) all within walking distance. Those are just the stores that trade ... there's also a Walmart, HMV, Toys'r'Us, and Zellers, and at most you would spend 10 minutes walking between the furthest apart.

I guess I could start flipping games too, but I'd rather just enjoy the savings by playing the game instead of screwing over another gamer. I *might* buy multiple copies of a game if I want to play co-op with a friend, but I can't imagine buying 40 copies of any game.

i was in 5 EB/GS just today and they're just a couple miles apart.
i really wanted to find a used 360 copy of COD:MW, took me long enough.
and i know when i go to the handful of BBVs in the neighbourhood ill see
all those copies of COD:MW i couldn't find in EB repacked and marked up thanks to RFDers.
i used to think it was cool to buy a ton of copies of one game and flip them for credit.
i ran Quake Wars into the ground at BBV and FS. but it wasn't on sale.
the regular price at EB garnered profits in trade. i guess i hoarded. EB ever ran out of copies obviously.
and i could never return multiple copies at one time. it mightve worked but i just refused to be "that guy".

wow, when i was a lurker, i always thought "flipping" games to make profit was a smart idea. all my friends thought so too. i started doing T3G1F and soon wasted lots of time just so i could get games that i don't even want.

i quit about 6 months ago tho, realized that being a hoarder or flipper or lurker all didn't matter... (and at this point i was a collecter lol) but than thought about why im doing it, and decided to just buy what i really really want. so i made a short list of games i wanted (first i wrote down alot... but than i scrached out alot, so right now, theres about 4-5 games i want) and get those instead of ...you know, flipping.

im still using the site, and i thank it, since i find alot of good deals here, but to be honest , i don't understand the collecters of 100,200 games by flipping and hoarding. guess if you're doing that sort of thing at age 25?( the big names in RFD i think are in that age group) , i shouldn't start at age 17....

Well CoD5:CE was kind of a bust, and I was up in Gravenhurst for the past couple of days so getting the game was next to impossible anyhow. I was happy getting GTAIV for $39.99 though! It's one of the few CE's that I feel would be worth the $40 I paid, for sure.

flipping games is a nice side hobby, i usually load up on a lot of games when i see them 4.99 or less, play the shit out of them (for cheesemints, or for nieces pleasure) than when blockbuster has a decent trade in promo going (ie now) stock up on that credit.

I usually preorder movies i want first, than ask my family who wants games (i take a hit on the credit to give them a deal) than i look around for games that might qualify for a trade 3.

I just laugh at people who chase around to blockbuster to eb to rogers to fs and back and forth.

yeah it's weird when you want to buy a used copy of a $9.99 game and they

looks like the Fallout 3:CE is $29.99 today, PS3 only. Personally I'd buy the package and trade in the game to FS where it's TIV is $40, then use that credit to buy the GOTY Edition arriving in October. You'd end up paying around $65 for all the extras, and Fallout 3 w/ all the DLC!

Went in this morning to get F3, clerk told me todays deal was ACDC Wii. I asked about Fallout and he checked, price is $29.99 but he had none in stock, and hasn't for a long time. He even called the other EB and they had none either, so they are keeping ACDC on sale for today. I am very disappointed.

Unrelated, but when The Last Remnant was on sale I called a place and they said they were not allowed to put GD games on hold. 0_o I actually went somewhere else to get it, but I found it strange that they would tell me that, especially now that I see people talking about them actually putting games on hold for them. You know, this has even happened to me with normal games, being told they are not allowed to put them on hold (when I've done so in the past at the very same EB...)

Depends on the store. I go to one store and they always put stuff on hold while another one never will.

Agreed. Not that the FO3 deal is bad, probably one of the best deals from this sale. But I still didn't get it since I'd rather get EW with the headset because I want the official headset and BBV would (hopefully) give me $10 for EndWar.

The only thing I've gotten so far in these gamedays is the FO3 CE. I wanted the MGS4CE and the GTA4CE but the former was sold out when I got there and the latter had one copy left, but it was a bit more expensive than what I had prepared for (was told prior it would be around $30).

Too bad. I would have loved to have capitalized on more of the deals. Funny thing is, I've been buying a ton of games, full priced.

Ya I would love SF4 for that cheap. You can buy online at Ebgames.com but they are charging $15US for any shipping to Canada. What a f'in hosejob. They really need to get their ass in gear and make a canadian store website. I'm pretty sure it's safe to say there is a market for it here in Canada, not like there are only a dozen people playing games or anything.

I would NOT want ebgames.com to lower the price of shipping instead of opening up an online store on ebgames.ca.
