Its kinda crazy, but they don't. Mainly cause the sale is only a few days.

I remember when I bought UT3 when they did the first sale price of $19.98 and the used copy was $19.99. I asked the guy, "Its cheaper to buy NEW?!?" He said yeah, cause its on sale right now.

It also took them a month to adjust their Greatest Hits pricing for PS3. Metal Gear 4 both NEW and USED were $29.99. I guess they don't change it right away because EDGE card holders get 10% off the used price.

Its hard to plan ahead for these kinds of things i think. Since the sale begins on the 17th for this promo which means theres a whole 2 weeks for the TIV of games to fluctuate.

At the location i was at (Bayshore EB), they had a shitload for PS3. I didnt check 360 but i was told that it was also marked down too. Unless RFD is that greedy, im pretty sure there will still be plenty for everyone that wants it around my area at least.

for those of you who are planning to get this game, Production Value is to die for, and it has a great art style. and if that's your thing, go for it.

the story/ character development is done.... average. the story seems kinda rushed at the start, and the character development is done thought optional convversations (with the click of L1) other then that, the combat is 1 on 1, very easy, and after you get used to the controls, it's very very easy. i've been playing for 5-6 hours, and for 10 bucks.... what are you waiting for? try to pick up the Pre-order edition with the unique sleeve, Digital Artbook, Digital extras. ( not really worth it, but if you can, get it)

Also, while I was in store I noticed that Guitar Hero: World Tour (PS3, game only) was $24.99 (new) while the Wii (game only) verison was $19.99 (new). The 360 version wasn't on sale as it was $39.99 (new).

As a huge POP fan I would say it is worth it simply because it was the same price, it is the same game case except in a carboard box that is a pain to open without tearing. So I glued it (The box) together then cut out a side so the game slides in and out with no problem. The bonus dvd (not a 360 game disc or Blu-ray) is alright, has some behind the scenes stuff, trailers, music etc. Nothing too special.

It was a pain to get though since my EB's didn't know about them until they had arrived so I didn't preorder. Only one store would actually sell me one the rest said I should have preordered even though they didn't know about the product:bomb:

I agree 100%. One of my favorite ending sequences I have ever seen/played. I really enjoyed the DLC aswell. A little short but offers a different pace/feel than the original game which sold it for me.

Such a thing does not exist. The 10 page booklet you're talking about is a Marketing Tab, it's for the signage in the store and instructions on what stuff should look like, it also has cross promotions with other companies and what the pre-order bonuses will be along with very few in-store stuff. The deals and Game Days promotions are in our emails.

Yeah to everyone who didn't get on the deal (for some reason) here's a tip for next time:

At EBG there's NOTHING done on the weekend, since all our morning updates come directly from head office there needs to be someone working there to actually key in the updates and since head office gets every weekend off like a bunch of schoolkids (even though they're the most out of touch non-gamers and "casuals" imaginable) there's no weekend (Sun-Mon) price adjustments.

So just tell the person there that "yeah you're supposed to price match yourself for this since there's no morning updates for weekends".

Thanks for the heads-up re:Animal Crossing. Wasn't quite sure if I wanted it or not earlier, but figured I'd buy at a good price now and trade/sell later if necessary. Getting the bundle makes it worthwhile.



By the way, I noticed that Sam & Max on Wii is only $10 new. Maybe it's been that way for a while... but the game is easily worth that asking price! (Note: The engine used in the Wii version does have some issues with loading and sound clipping. It doesn't really hurt the game, but I recommend reading a review or two before buying.)

They still only appear once so you can delete duplicates from your HDD (if they aren't in packs)

i got a tip from laughingman (cheers) that GWHT for Wii was dropping further than the advertised price for Game Days. i couldn't find any Wii copies tonight but I was told they were stickering them all and to come back tomorrow for the daily deal:

GHWT Bundle (guitar,drums,mic,game) all platforms - $99.99
GWHT on it's own will be $19.99 new

EndWar is/was a fun game, especially if you start digging the voice-command system. Enjoyed every minute of it when I had it. Great production values and "theoretically" can last for a very long time. A big aspect of it was the online campaign mode, though I'm not sure how strong the community is for that anymore.

It will be hard to find a MGS LE new for 9.89, I have not seen one in some time. The used normal version of MGS will be 9.89 as well but not the normal new version.....

and yes GHTW is $99.99 on all systems. $89.99 on ps2. I guess best buy was going to do a sale soon like this so EB jumped on it first.

Star Wars Force Unleashed is an awesome deal for $10. It's not the best game, but has an interesting enough story and some fun force powers. Recommended for any Star Wars fans. :)

Well, if you can wait till GH5 comes out, you'd probably see GH:WT at around $100 pretty consistently; RB1 didn't take long to come down after RB2 came out.

Such a thing does not exist. The 10 page booklet you're talking about is a Marketing Tab, it's for the signage in the store and instructions on what stuff should look like, it also has cross promotions with other companies and what the pre-order bonuses will be along with very few in-store stuff. The deals and Game Days promotions are in our emails.

Ya with the information now , it seems that eb will only have the 360 tomb raider on sale, but still there are three great games on sale tom for the PS3.
Endwar, Force Unleashed, and MGS4, and in my opinion all of those games are better then tomb raider underworld.

As a Wii owner, all I've heard is how the game was broken with a necessary switch that was simply missing in the final build. Nice to see that 2/3 of the consoles received QA testing though!

Seriously, Tomb Raider seemed decent but not groundbreaking in any way. A good use of $10 for anyone who like the series, but not something I'd pay much more for.

I was looking at some of the Game day Games I bought last year which were gutted that I haven't opened and most of them were scratched up alot. Where I used to live, there was one jerk who would be really aggressive about selling gutted copies of games. This was in the same store where I know 100% that employees were taking gutted copies of new games home to play.

Me: "Do you have a sealed copy of this game?"

EB: "Sure, I'll ring it right up. That comes to $45!"

Me: "No, I said a sealed copy. That one has already been opened, and I want one that's brand new."

EB: "This is new, don't worry about it."

Me: "Let me see the disc." ... "So, um, it's scratched right there."

EB: "It might have a light scratch from being stored in our paper sleeve, but it's guaranteed to play. Don't worry! If you have any problems just bring it back within the first week and we'll give you a new one."

Me: "No thanks. I can grab a shrinkwrapped copy at another store for the same price, and won't have to worry. I don't want to pay full price for an played copy of the game."

EB: "Why do you want a sealed copy anyway? You're going to have to open the game before playing. So just take this one already!"

Me: (Walks out of the store empty-handed.)


Luckily, I found a nearby EB Games in Markham where the service is great and the salespeople are friendly and helpful. Oddly, I don't mind stupid stuff like pre-orders or the occasional gutted game when I actually like and trust the people selling them to me... Hmmm, wonder if there's a lesson to be learned there.
