It's only kinda gaming related. It could be described as force feedback for your butt LOL.

With coupon code FVF3XNS3 expiring tomorrow you get a $50 discount. So $249 instead of $299. Not really cheapass, but better than $399 MSRP. Too bad the ECA discount does NOT work.

I just ordered one. I'm really looking forward to try the one I just bought for gaming and movies. I'm not sure I'll like it at all with music.

people have never heard of bass shakers before? This is the single best investment for a home theater..there are cheaper alternatives.

Aren't these typically used for racing game set-ups/seats? Or am I thinking of something else?

They name it the Buttkicker, but fail to use the tagline "Silent But Deadly!" Fail.

And yes, complete with a vertical mounting kit and couch mounting kit, it does have a slight aroma of gay to it.

These are actually brough up a lot on the avsforum and held in high regard as an alternative to subwoofer(s).

i have the smaller version, it is NOT gay and it does kickbutt. It goes great with a nice sound system, works best with action movies, adds a new dimension to the movie/gaming experience.

Seems like it'd be a great investment for someone living in an apartment or condo and still wants to have a full home theater experience. If I had furniture that'd support it, I'd probably think about getting one.

Thanks for the post, OP - sounds like something to keep in mind.

They aren't used instead of sub's, they are used in addition to subs....they have their own amps to power them and they provide tactile feedback (aka shake) that a sub wont always produce.

Movies and Games make the most use of them, Music notsomuch...

(I should say "that a sub wont always produce" unless you like things falling off your walls)

Seems like maybe they could have come up with a better name for the product.

I've got the buttkicker gamer, smaller cheaper version for your chair. I've read about people modding them for couches and such, fairly easy to do.

I have the gamer version attached to a playseats evolution for racing games, and it is very cool.

Thanks, just picked one up, seems perfect since I watch tv, do console gaming and pc gaming all in the same chair. Just hope it's not too loud, but the review I read for it said it feels loud but isn't really.

Takes a little tweaking to find the sweet spot. If it is just rattling, you're not getting the full effect. I put a rag under the clamp. And I got better results with a hotter signal going in. The sub out into the buttkicker was ok but one side of a stereo channel was much better. You might toss a towel under the chair for extra isolation if you need to, but it doesn't "throw" very far.

They use the same technology in some vehicle setups so you can rock the car without leveling a city block. The amp looks like something you might find in a trunk, it's pretty big. When it's dialed in right you can really feel a drummer's shoe leather or a bass player's fingertips on the strings. Shit is real. Oh and high quality speakers or headphones really help. The crisper the highs , the tighter the lows feel.

While I think this would be awesome, it doesn't seem worth $300. Wish it were a bit cheaper :(
