Does anyone know what their return policy is? Like a moron I bought one today that I bought last week. All those Superfriends DVDs look a like to me. I knew I should have made a list before going today.

If it's still sealed, should be 30 days with receipt. At the bottom it actually prints the date the receipt is good until.

SHIT!! If not for the FYE trade credit deal thread, I would've never known about this sale. I'm short on cash, but I'd LOVE to pick up both Pinky & The Brain volumes and the Animaniacs ones.

I also wish to hell Warner would put Freakazoid on a normal DVD boxset already, since I think there is only a bootleg available as of now.

actually one set came out last year and the second set this year. the dd sale is prolly your best bet unless you have a ton of fye credit.

I went to Big Lots when they opened Sunday. They did have about 100 box sets. But they were crap - and about ten copies of each.

Dukes season 4 and 5

OC season 2

Roots

Night Court season 1

total crap that no one is my area would even buy for a dollar.

I'm just going to plan on being at BL on opening for the next few days... I don;t know if they have any other boxes of DVD's or not. The CSS I talked to didn't think so, but I want to be sure they aren't holding boxes back for the Sunday Ad. For the America's Game set, I may just have to camp out at BL :)

I picked up an extra Josie and the Pussycats today. It was the last $3 set I could find. Next time, I'm just going to buy a crapload and put them up here for trade. No sense in letting the flippers and idiots I saw at BL yesterday grab all the sets...

Exactly - especially when the stuff was gone over the course of the first day of being put out. If CAGgers were there, then great - but the people I saw buying all the stuff were DEFINITELY not CAGgers.

ugghh finally found a boxset.....something, anything....unfortunatly all that had left was Dukes of Hazzard Season 5. Anyone know the FYE trade in value for this one? Or if anyone is looking for this boxset to trade let me know.

Freakazoid is out legally as of this year - two sets cover the entire series.

Sweet. Thanks for the heads up about that. Between that series and the first couple seasons of Transformers G1, I was really wondering if they would EVER come out with legit boxsets for them. The only option available prior on the TF sets was a compilation from Asia in both Chinese and English, I believe.

Not sure if any one posted this, but I also saw a South Park 3-pack for $6. I think it has 4 episodes from each of the first three seasons only, and not the complete seasons.

Picked up the only Animaniacs vol. 1. Can't find vol. 2, and skipped on Pinky and the Brain vol. 1. Also saw Super Friends, the OC, West Wing, Six Feet Under S3, Dukes of Hazzard, Knots Landing, and I think that was it.

What the hell is up with all the Joeys!!!!!! Why were so many of these made>?

Because they were hoping that the DVD boxset release for season one might help the show going into the second season. Instead it just went on its merry way to its grave. So now we are stuck with floods of them taking up valuable space at Big Lots.

Too bad its predecessor show couldn't of been a failure too.

i want to run into one soooooo bad, but i have never run into one. i pick up more than one for my collection but i always offer anything i find extras of on cag first. if no one here wants one, then i mostly return them back to the store so someone else can find them. im about cag first.

I went to the local BL and found these:
Animaniacs Vol.1
Smallville S7 blu-ray
Pinky and the Brain Vol.1
Assorted Dallas, Nip Tuck, and The West Wing
Super Friends Vol. 2
Luckly I only saw 3 "Joey"s

When I get more money (who knows when) I could pick up some of these for some CAGs

I'm looking for Animaniacs Vol. 3.

I hope I find Looney Tunes at the Fayetteville BL.

Can anyone confirm which seasons of Tales from the Crypt are out on the shelves?

My car is in the shop right now and I'd hate to waste a friend's gas if it's something I got.

At any rate, guess I should make the trip and report back with what my BL has here.

Batman: TAS V1 with Superman: TAS V1

Is this THE Batman: TAS that aired on the WB from 1992 - 1995 w/ Kevin Conroy voicing Batman and Mark Hamill voicing the Joker?

I'm going to make a massive update to the OP tomorrow. It needs it. For now, I picked up Tales of the Crypt 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 (to answer someoneone's questions which have been seen for sale, I just can't find #7, but that could just be me)

Also, sorry if these are repeats, but from what I haven't seen posted I picked up:

Two pack of volume 1 of the Superman 90s cartoon and volume 1 of Batman: The Animated Series (incredible deal at 3.00)

The New Adventures of Lois and Clark 1, 2, 3, and 4 (don't ask me why I bought this, as I'm not quite sure why myself)

Some Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm show, complete series boxset, where they're all grown up. With Sally Struthers doing the voice of Pebbles. That screams absolute shit, but for 3.00 I figured I might as well buy every Hanna Barbera set I could.

Also grabbed the only Batman Beyond season 3 they had. Saw in a box that the clerk was unboxing (but abandoned when she needed to ring some customers up) She came back, and jokingly said, "You gonna wait for me to put that on the shelf?" I took this as a challenge to my Batman Beyond season 3 and knocked her out. I may have been hasty, but at least I was able to leave the store without having to pay for my sets.

The rest I got were sets already mentioned, IIRC. Also saw some Everwood season 1 which I already had (great show, which I recommend)

I'm hoping this store maintains stock until Sunday where I could rebuy the sets with the 20% off coupon (unless, will they for some reason let me bring in my receipt and return and rebuy? The 15 bucks would be worth it)

EDIT: Just went ahead and knocked out the update. As always, please post any new changes needed for the OP (not to make Gothicwalrus the OP's pet or anything, but I was really digging the blue text for the new additions to the OP)

Yep... As I suspected, they're holding boxes in the back. The truck comes in Wednesday, but today I found:

The War At Home Season 1 ($3)
Flintstones Season 3 ($3)
Popeye 193x-193x ($3)

There was also a new group (I'm guessing from the same case) of $9 steel boxsets that had 90 classic movies, as well as some other sets - like suspense movies, horror (I think), etc. They were $9, as well, but varied from 50 to 70 movies or so in each case. Might be nice for some of you other collectors...

Guess I'll be making morning trips to BL for the forseeable future...

Called my local Big Lots yesterday to ask if they had any new DVDs or when trucks came. They said a truck was coming later and that anything new should be out by 1 today.

I went there at 10 and saw two guys with a cart with two Looney Tunes sets and some other stuff.

There was one more Looney Tunes set on the shelf :D

I also got:
Flintstones season 2
Flintstones season 3
Popeye: 1933-1938
Tracy Takes On season 1
All for $3 each.

Oh, also picked up the Stanley Kubrick boxset ($10; there were plenty) and saw the deluxe Roots set but passed on it.

Saw a bunch of Flinstones series (2,3,4 for sure), Batman AS Series 3, Wacky Races, the Warner Bros Academy Awards winners set, and some Tales From the Crypt, but pretty much the same stuff as normal (Tracy takes On, Joey, War at Home, OC Season 2, Smallville(non blu ray), Dallas, Dukes of Hazard, Pinky and The Brain).

Ended up picking up :

Tales from the Crypt Volume 4
Tales from the Crypt Volume 5
The WB AA set
Batman Animated Volume 3

Im about to go and check a few more because im looking for Friends series for my cousins bday tonight. If I see anything out of the norm Ill report it here.

If anyone can't find the new Hanna Barbera sets (like me) it's because they technically aren't supposed to be sold until 7/26 because they are in the 7/26 Big Lots ad. That's what people on the DVD Talk Forum are saying.

Went to Big Lots today, didn't even know about the new releases.

Picked up: War At Home $3 (they have a stack of them)

Oh, and umm...guys...is this the Looney Tunes collection everyone is talking about?

With the brownbag 20% sale (ends 8/18ish), if you were to sell it to FYE...well...I'll let you do the math...

There's the Golden Collection (20 Discs) and the Spotlight Collection (10 discs). If it's really the Golden Collection, if you went with credit (+45%) you could get a 360 from 2 sets, $20. Holy Grail, indeed.

i hate to be a party ppoper but making it easier to the lurkers makes this deal dead to anyone who doesnt get there the day the discs go out. make them work for it.

holy FRAK! Where the hell did all these $3 sets come from???

That's actually a good question.

I've seen a pretty big media influx into clearance outlets lately - Big Lots got all of these DVDs, and a lot of the Dollar Tree stores around me got huge shipments of music from artists I actually recognized (James Blunt's first album, Paris Hilton...I didn't say they were good).

Part of me wonders if this is at all connected to Circuit City going under. It's all older stock, but there's a lot of it both quantity and variety wise, and it's hitting the shelves at the same time.

Big Lots #555 (http://www.biglots.com/store_locator.aspx#)
2236 South Federal Highway
Stuart, FL 34994
(772) 223-0939

they had alot of Friends/OC/Roots/Dukes of Hazzard/Friends/Dallas/etc.

All I really wanted was Blade the series & Mission Hill but they didn't have either, one of the employees let me dig around the stock area and they had a bunch of boxes of stuff.

Ended up getting Tales from the Crypt season 1 through 5 from the stock room. Still no Blade or Mission Hill .

The DVD section up front is a disaster area but it was nice of them to let me dig through the back.

If you come around Orange County I'll bite you!

Anyways I went today and all the stores around have been gutted. The Santa Ana, CA BL seemed to have restock to accomodate the sale they have going on today but looks like I was a little late--because there was a guy carrying a stack of the Hanna Barbara sets and all I was left with was more Joeys, Duke of Hazards, and more useless crap that no one will bother with. I managed to find The Drew Carey Show Season 1, so it wasn't a total loss.

All three I went to today were advertising the 20% off thing as an event, so that made finding good stuff even harder. One store even had all the newly stocked dvd sets on a rack right next to the door so it was picked clean. Saw one of the Looney Tunes collection but it was behind the counter being held for an employee :bomb:

So anyone in the Taylor, MI area unless you're looking for The War at Home, you aren't gonna find jack.

I paid $18 for it on Amazon like 2 months ago... ugh. I thought that was decent enough though, for 20-something episodes of a decently-written cartoon very telling of its time.

Oh, and--hit up 3 Big Lots today.

1 had nothing new.

1 had the War at Home season 1.

1 had the War at Home season 1 and that Murdoch show.

I'm going back in a few days in search of Top Cat and Flintstones 4-6...

Was able to find Superfriends S1 and NipTuck BD Season 4 (the hoarders must have been tired from lifting all of the other box set into their cart).

Well, I went during the sale tonight and as far as box sets were concerned, I found jack spit. The NoHollywood store had numerous copies of one season each of West Wing, Joey, The OC ("Don't call it that"), the god-awful season 5 of Dukes of Hazzard (with the replacement cousins), and the shortened sixth season. Night Court Season 1 was the only thing I picked up and I got that as a gift for someone. Not a single animated series in the lot.

On the plus side, I found a lone copy of Mister Roberts (with Jack Lemmon commentary!), A Mighty Wind and Tremors 3 for $3 apiece. Oh, and a kitchen towel for a buck. But they don't sell coasters! WTF?!

That's the only really rare item I've scored from the many many BLs I've scoured in the last week. The TFTC seasons came near the end of the day yesterday... Salvaged what was a very bad trip from Va to Al... Looks like hoarders got many of the sets... Almost makes me wish the really good ten dollar sets were priced a little higher to discourage resellers.... I'd pay a little more for that looney tunes set...

I'd imagine BL paid very little for these boxsets. WB was probably going to lose a lot more money on them sitting in their warehouses not selling. Especially when it comes to some titles such as Joey that honestly was not bound to sell to begin with.

I saw something similar at my local biglots, but it was with the Looney Tunes Golden Collection. Where as most people were reporting $10 for the entire collection, the only copies I saw in my area were solely Volume 6 (might have been Vol. 5) priced at $10. I was able to get the 40 disc set of America's game and the full roots set at this store, so I am wondering if stock is varying between stores and/or regions.and if they really are just slapping stickers on these suckers at the regional dist center and maybe some got missed or mislabeled? I don't think biglots identifies the dvds I think they just have a base price sticker (I.E. 8 Mile rings up as a $3 dvd, abd not "8 Mile - $3").

I think there was two waves of DVDs that went out and each wave was supposed to last two weeks. We are currently in the 4th week of this "sale." Chances are that you have stores that historically don't do well with DVD sales and they will only get the first wave of DVDs in. If they cannot sell those rapidly, then it's not likely they'd get the second wave in to sell. I've heard no reports about a third wave of DVD sets yet, but those would be in next week's shipment if there are any and not this week's shipment.

The titles you had mentioned at your stores was from the first wave. The ones you want are from the second wave. I have three stores near me. Two of the stores obviously don't sell many DVDs and they only got only the first wave of DVD sets in for the flyer sale and I've never seen any of the second waved ones. The third store is high traffic and got both waves in. In fact, the guy who was putting them out last week that they had lots more in back, but they was instructed to hold them for next week, which pretty much told me that they won't be getting any new ones this week off of the truck and each wave was supposed to last this store two weeks.

So I honestly believe that if you had not seen anything from the second wave at any your stores by now you won't because your stores are not high traffic enough to get them in. I honestly don't think there will be a third wave of DVDs either, but I hope there will be.

Went back to the first store I hit today while running errands...and there was nothing. The endcap that had been full of DVDs was now full of lunchboxes, and the remnants (OC, West Wing, New Scooby Doo Movies) were moved to the regular rack of cheapass DVDs.

You have to remember that these new dvd sets arent even supposed to be up for sale until Sunday. Some stores may not put out the $3 and $10 sets until than or closer to the time.

If the stores have already put out the DVDs, do you think they'll restock? I'm guessing no, but who knows how many of the sets each store got? :-k

Of the Big Lots I've been to, three have already put out the Hanna Barbera and at least some of the $10 stuff (Roots is the one I keep seeing). There might not be any reason for me to check again come Sunday.

Yea, I was at the Maplecrest store yesterday. It was clean compared to how it was on Saturday. I'm checking back later this week. I did manage some good finds at the New Haven store on Sunday. I was just hoping I could find that Samurai Jack set that was mentioned.

i keep this post updated on the appleglen store... (the jefferson store) since its about 2 blocks from my route...the maplecrest store is across town and the new haven store is just way too far to drive..

only things im looking for now is

powerpuff collection
Tales 1 2 4 and 6
and flintstones 4 5 6

i was sort of shocked everything was gone at maplecrest..... did you get your powerpuffs at maplecrest ??? man cant belive i missed them by one day : (

hopefully if nothing happens what i plan on doing

hitting up jefferson friday and saturday (to see if they restock anything) HEADS UP THOUGH THEY ARE CHARGING 10 per season for the FLINTSTONES and they are ringing up 10

might try to hit up maplecrest saturday if not saturday for sunday for sure as soon as they open...

i doubt i will even try new haven

I still haven't been able to find Thundercats s2 v2
the samurai jack set, is that just the movie or the cartoon collection.

I checked my big lots and only found a ton of dallas, roots and looney tunes sets.
They also have a few super friends left.

I picked up the powerpuff set at New Haven. They had a ton of stuff when I went there on Sunday. I'm not sure if I'll head back there or not. It's a little far for me, but it's closer to me than the jefferson one. There's the jefferson, maplecrest, and new haven big lots, but have you checked out the other one? I don't think I've ever been to that fourth one.

I just went to the West Olympia store and they had Flintstones V3, War at Home, Josie and the Pussycats, Dasturdly and Mutly, Tracy Takes On V1 and the Tom and Jerry 2 packs. They also had one copy of Appleseed Ex Machina, but I bought it up. Oh and if anyone is still looking for The NFL Hall of Fame Dvd, they still had a few copies left over.

no i never been in the southgate biglots...

its just too bad the jeffereson moved (used to be on goshen road --- right almost in my back yard LOL)

i can hit up jefferson since its right on my job route almost (and its right next to mcvans so i can hit both at once )

maplecrest maybe once or twice month

new haven i probally have not been out there for 2 to 3 years... i forgot all about the new haven on sunday and just remember it monday night... Was thinking about going out there tuesday but though everything would been wiped clean by then.

since the only things im looking for are now

Tales from cyrpt 1 2 4 6
flintstones 4 to end
and powerpuff

i doubt i would go out to new haven sunday (though i might ---- depends on how well maplecrest restocks, but i think everything good is long gone and there wont be any restocks this weekend

Pretty funny stuff... Looking at the trade in values on wherehouse.com... Many o these sets are only getting $.05 now... Hopefully it will deter alot of the people here and other places that ONLY seemed concerned with flipping these sets and giving those who just want to buy them a chance

my quest to find the looney tunes set continues... Also on the lookout for the last two tales from the crypt seasons, yogi bear, roots complete, and the super bowl set

Powerpuff Girls
Thundercats - 6 Discs

Spotted and snagged collection one of the Animated Superman Series. Oddly enough it was priced at $3. Still on the lookout for the Powerpuff Girls complete collection.

On a side note, I saw all of Book One and Book Two Avatar the Last Airbender individual dvds. $4 bucks each. Not a bad deal at all since a complete book ranges from $40-$50, so those that are interested might want to keep an eye open.

Checked out my local Big Lots again, and still not a single Hanna Barbara set. The only $3 set Ive seen there is The war At Home...so either my store got cleaned out very quick one day or they're waiting till Sunday to put them out.

I'll go back once more come Sunday.

You would think all stores would have a new shipment for Sunday, otherwise they are false advertising.

Sup Houston area CAGs! Got a report for you for these DVD boxsets:

Big Lots: 45 N Hwy / Tidwell Exit .. they have an end cap filled with box set but mostly football, basketball dvds .. Flintstones, Top Cat, Josie & Pussycats, and Scooby Doo movies but not many .. OC, Joey, West Wing, and Tales of the Crypt

Big Lots: Shepard Dr (close by I-10) .. football (Cowboy's DVDs picked that one up) and basketball dvds .. West Wing, OC, and Joey (groan)

Big Lots - Kirby Dr (Next to Reliant Stadium) Nothing but WW2, Korea, and Vietnam DVD sets .. but I did notice IMAX's NASCAR dvds .. if you want to trade for it my fellow redneck CAGs .. let me know so I can go back and pick it up .. Im damn sure they wont get sold anytime soon due the store being in the ghetto heh ^_^

Appleseed Steelbook
Popeye the Sailor 1933-38 Vol 1 (this one (http://www.amazon.com/Popeye-Sailor-1933-1938-Vol-1/dp/B000P296AS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1248312935&sr=8-2))
Pinky & Brain Vol 2 for a buddy
Dave Chappelle - Killin' Em Softly for my brother

They had one Superfriends complete series DVD, lots of West Wing, OC, Joey & other stuff I assume no one would want. No Crypt dvds though, that's what I was after.

This makes me wish for the time when very few people cared about DVDs at BL...I got hooked over a year ago with cheap hBO sets and movies, sales like this bring out all the lurkers and newbs on some of the other forums... I'm hopeful I can get the rest of my most wanted sets from
this sale, I'd like to even FIND some of the $10 sets as I've came up dry at every location I've checked, and there have been alot.
We are seeing the same type of hoarding and mass reselling that we did with the BB $10 game sale... I do resell from time to time but never in sales as big and publicized as these. Everything in this sale I actually want for my collection.

I liked it. The rating were great for Spike too, but they didn't continue with a second season.
The actor who played Blade was a little weak but the secondary characters and mythology they were setting up was interesting.

This happened to a store I went to yesterday. Picked up 1 each of the Hanna Barbera Classics and there were TONS of them still. I went back at noon today and EVERYTHING, I literally mean EVERYTHING, was gone. Asked if they had just moved them or something and they told me someone bought every single $3 boxset they had. Doesn't really make much sense though when you look at what a lot of them go for on Amazon. You are not making very much of most of these things.

i was thinking of grabbing some of the superman 50s dvds to see if people wanted them here but after you figure in shipping i doubt many would pay 7 or 8 (guessing they would cost around 3 to 4 to ship)

dont really see why people would grab more then 2 tops of each set...... Yes games i can see people hoarding cause it cost what 2 bucks to ship a game... Its got to cost a pretty penny to ship these box sets..

My guess is the Big Lots stores that are selling them like this didnt get the outer casing for these and so is selling them as 2 disc sets.

Correct. I noticed a few people in here looking for Biglots Thundercat DVDs. Just to clarify, Season 1 Volume 2 is actually a six disc box set that consists of the following....

Disc 7 & 8
Disc 9 & 10 (This is the only one Big Lots is selling from the S1V2 set)
Disc 11 & 12

I forgot which discs the S1V1 had...It didn't even matter to me. All the stuff that is being thrown on ebay for cheap may also be misrepresented so beware. Best to buy it retail.

Just got next week's Big Lots ad in my e-mail box as they put it online Thursday. Shows $3 boxsets on sale starting Sunday. Image below is taken directly from the website.

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3081/biglotsdvdad.jpg

Looks to be the ones that have been reported to be $3 but wasn't Traci Takes On supposed to be $6? Otherwise this might explain why some stores haven't put any $3 titles out since they are holding them for the Sunday ad.

Also off topic but there's a $499 laptop in the ad. The model is Gateway M-1631u. The ad also has a strong emphasis on the free Windows 7 upgrade as well.

Found a rogue Flintstones S3, without any plastic or anything as reported before. Discs were mint and all was right, so for 3 bucks I got it anyway.

I was able to get all 3 of the 2 dvd sets Vol 1 was a hard find but Vol 2 and 3 are in abundance

ARRRGH!!! I want that NFL set sooo bad.

If anyone finds it and wants to work a trade for a powerpuff set + something else, let me know. I'd give up PPG for the NFL set...

My BL had a truck come in Wednesday that had NO dvds at all on it... and they are not supposed to get their Friday truck...

Aww, that's a real shame, kid. Especially considering the fact that you PM'd me asking to buy Joey for you, then stopped responding to PMs with the impression of not having a way to pay for it, so I returned your copy back to my store...classic case of Karma, I suppose.

The ad also has a strong emphasis on the free Windows 7 upgrade as well.

i bet a lot of people are going to be pissed come sunday when they go to big lots and nothing is there , since most stores have already put out their stock on thursday -saturday

Just checked my BL - which "didn't get any on the truck" on Wednesday, only to find a brand new group of $3 DVDs...

The case looked to include:

Tales From the Crypt S2,3
Lois and Clark S1,3
Popeye 1st set
Tracey Takes on S1
Joey S1

Wierd that there seems to be $6 sets and $3 sets mixed in these cases. Evidently, I was the forst to hit these this morning, since the lady that works every morning said "Did we get more in???"

I figure I have an hour before everyone cleans them out... So if anyone has a spare America's Game Set and needs some of these sets, let me know so I can pick them up to set up a trade.

That Popeye set is fantastic. Paid $30 for it last summer at Best Buy, and don't regret it, but seeing a stack of em for $3 at my local Big Lots was a shock! yeah but thats illegal the dvds are meant to be sold in the boxset and they arent labeled for individual sale...im gonna head back tomorow hopefully and talk with them...

The 2-disc sets that my BL sold had a silver and red felt (the material, not touched by an old lady) outer slipcase cover. Are other BLs just selling the DVDs without that?

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31bEy2QHjlL._SL160_AA115_.jpg

As far as the legality of it, you have to remember we're dealing with Big Lots here, they get everyone else's junk. It's not a true retail store in the classic sense, which also explains why most stores are reluctant at best to price-match anything in a BL ad.

That'd make some sense, but when I got my Flintstones sets the only ones I saw without plastic were Season Five. And for what it's worth, the complete series box Amazon sells (http://www.amazon.com/Flintstones-Complete-Alan-Reed/dp/B001CC7POE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1248471925&sr=8-2) doesn't have the same packaging. It is possible that there's another set out there with everything just bundled together, though.

The Amazon set is pretty, but I paid less than a fifth of their asking price for the six seasons. Thank you, Big Lots! :D

Wow, in one day, the dvd box set stock at my local Big Lots has shrunk by nearly 2/3rds. I'm pretty sure it was a hoarder, or possibly a group of hoarders, the dozen or so War at Homes are all gone, the dozen of Popeyes, only about 10 Flintstones out of about 40 are still around. The half dozen Animaniacs are all gone too, as well as the few Superman cartoons. The only things left are a few live action Superman, Lois and Clark, S2/S3 Flintstones, Tracy, etc. Sigh, I should have picked up S2 Animaniacs when I had a chance.

now one of them has the single discs only (im guessing they got the boxsets but ripped them open for some reason)

same with flintstones SEASON 6.... Those are the only 2 things im looking for since i blew 60 on 20 box sets already

(probally end up taking at least 4 of them back) Rest of them are birthday gifts to myself since my BD is weds : )

That to me is one of the biggest problems with Big Lots in general. They seem to with some product just throw it up wherever they feel like it. Granted I know the average employee at the store is making minimum wage (or barely above it) but geez shopping there can be a test of patience and will sometimes.

OK I finally had some luck with the local big lots.....I picked up:

Samurai Jack (seasons 1-3) x 3
Animaniacs vol1 x2
Popeye v1 x1
And some other misc hanna barbera sets.

I am not reselling these and was wondering if anyone looking for Animaniacs v1 or Samurai Jack would like to trade for some items I'm looking for and cannot find....I'm primarily looking for Animaniacs vol. 2 or 3, Pinky and the Brain v3 (if it exists), and maybe some flinstones set. I'm going to try again tomorrow to see what I can find....pm me if interested. Thanks for the heads up on these guys. If I can't find traders, I'd probably just return them within the return period for others to have a chance.

Which location is this at?

I myself dropped by Rowland Heights today and saw a ton of Lois and Clark, George Reeves Superman, and various Hanna Barbera sets (Wacky Races is the only one that comes to mind).

At the Whittier location, I saw various Tales from the Crypt sets, Flintstones S3, and about 4 more copies of Popeye. I lucked out and found a lone copy of Veronica Mars S2 here too

Well fun times at the Big Lots yesterday.

A whole family was there going through the DVDs taking out every single one of the boxed sets. All the $3 boxed sets had been put out and were in their cart.

I struck up a conversation with the mother and found out that her daughter works there. She also claimed that she was just looking for gifts and not re-selling.

Right. Getting every single boxed set in the store. Like over 10 copies of each box set. Gifts. Right.

If you read my rant over in the PC Games at Big Lots I have noted that my Big Lots store DVD and game section always seems to be in disarray. I guess I know why.

I can't compete with AN ENTIRE FAMILY who seems to have nothing better to do than to buy every decent item Big Lots stocks. Not with the daughter working in the store telling her folks when stuff comes in.

The area I live in now sucks.

I've been hitting up the only local Big Lots with a consistent DVD set shipment (that I've seen so far) every other day for the past week. Earlier in the week I nabbed War at Home S1, Tales from the Crypt S3, and the Batman animated series 2-pack.

Well, I went up to the store again today looking for more and they didn't have anything I wanted at first glance. Then I head toward to register and a lady has 2 copies of Everwood and when I ask her if they had anymore of them, she said no and started bragging about how she's been back to buy the sets 2-3 times per week.

Ya know, I don't blame her for going up there multiple times per week (I do), but save some of the loot for people that are going to actually watch the stuff. Buying 2 copies of Everwood alone ain't hoarding, but:

Going back 2 to 3 times a week + bragging about your loot + not leaving any sets for everyone else = hoarding.

Ha, I hear ya there. I already had a huge backlog of sets to watch, but these things were too good to pass on!

If anyone has some extra sets of Flintstones Season 4 or Tales from The Crypt Season 1 & 7 I'm needing to piece together some sets, and I need a few of each, so PM me and I'll buy them with some extra on top of course, I don't want to have to buy these from Amazon.
