View Full Version : I'm not really running out of room!

My collection is growing, but my shelf is not. The pics are below. The DVDs on the top shelf and the CDs below it. I'm expecting a few games over the next week and I'll run out of room. Any suggestions for getting them to fit? Should I move my CD games to the CD rack that's below and then just spread the DVDs on the top two shelves?

A good entertainment center, while taking up a lot of room, gives you a lot of storage. I have a massive one in my bed room, but it holds many of my games, magazines, and systems.

you have plenty of space on the shelf, just stack them up instead of sideways

just stack them on top of each other vertically if they fit, if not then horizontal. it may not look as good with the stacking but what other choice do u have, plus u will still be able to see all the titles

Just move the cds to the rack and you'll be fine, and when you move your DVD games you should separate the systems, that is kind of sloppy.

Really? I only have about 10 GC games compared to the 40 PS2 games.

You've got tons of space for another shelf or two on that cabinet, just get some shelf tabs and another plank of wood.

I cant believe you havent gotten flamed yet about your collection. Maybe CAG is cleaning up.

Well at least move all the GC games to one side, i would at least, but i am also super organized when it comes to my games.

So I should just move the top shelf down a few holes and stack it on top? How would I organize it then?

Nothing at all. Youve got more than me, but usually when someone posts pics of their collection it seems like other people love to show off how many more games they have.

Come on, the guy has several greatest hits titles and nobody's bothering to pick on him? Are the kids out playing today or something?

Are they intentionally out of "order", or do the Gamecube games serve as some sort of place holder?

Or are they in alphabetical order, but mixed?

Damn, that is ROOMY compared to what I store my games in. I am seriously out of space. X_X

But yeah, just stack them the same way you did on top of your other games, you'll be fine.

Are you serious? There is ample room in that picture... I've got it much worse where I'm stacking like no tommorow... I might put up a collection of pictures soon showing it...damn garage sales are killing my space.

Oh, I'm not showing off my collection, I'm just asking for advice on how to fit it on my shelf. I've been thinking how to be able to fit more on it, so I asked here.

Yeah, they're in alphabetical order without sorting out the consoles.

Or are they in alphabetical order, but mixed?

Just look it at them. Yes, they're in alpha order.

As for my own collection--I need space. :( This pic is a lil old and i've since moved stuff to draws and started stacking, but it looks nice (I'll take some tonight of current--much neater now)

That's the impression I gathered from the approximate placement of "Zelda", "Animal Crossing", "Sunshine", and etc. No idea why I asked anyway.

I moved down the shelf, but there's about an inch of room above the PSX and DC games. Should I just take the GBA boxes and put them in my closet so there'll be more room for future PSX and DC purchases?

I have a 6" ledge halfway around my room, so I stick all my DVD box sets, games, books, and CDs on there. Needless to say I"m running out of room too.

Not a bad collection, but still you have a ton of room in those pics. I've been stacking for about 2 years. Like Sneaky said, an entertainment center would do you fine.

Hey, I love Shonen Jump too! As for the space thing, don't stack the games on top of each other. That doesn't look as nice, just buy some more shelves.

 You're kidding right, that would cost more money and then he would not be a true cheapass. Just stack em, its the quick and easy way, not to mention affordable way.

That is what I've done, and now 3 games are stacked above the others. I'll post a pic after my next class.

I've seen those types of things before. Anyways, I now realize I was exagerating, but I wasn't sure how to get more room. Now that I've gotten an idea of how to, I'll work on that, and post a pic in an hour or so after class.

Poor thing has taken a few falls. :P

I've since bought a new Xbox and now have a washcloth on top for the GC to rest on so it's stable and doesn't scratch the Xbox.

To be honest you're actually leaving a little of space in between the shelves for the GC and PS2 games. Do you have more shelves for it? If not, I'd just measure the shelves, go to Menard's and get the smae kind of wood and a couple pegs, cut it and stain it and bam you got new shelves.

The only problem with that is that I'm living in an apartment and I don't want to buy the tools and supplies for one use.

I don't really need the manual or discs, so I just keep them all together.
