I must say that is impressive. How many garage sales did you go to?

Are the yardsales in buffalo normally good? I used to live a half hour outside of boston and they sucked, I gave up after a few times. Never found anything worth while, or any games. I just moved to toronto though, anyone know if the yardsales are any good around here? Also, about buffalo, if they are good, is it worth the 1 and a half hour drive? Especially considering I don't really know the area or where to start (unlike toronto or boston), is it relatively easy to find things there?

i dunno i went twice this summer (in school in PA so i went when i was home on breaks) the first time my highlights were a gamegear for 50 cents and shining force for 50 cents

i think you just have to look, some people post about getting an nes/snes/genny and 20 games for $5-$10 (not in buff just in general)

Toronto absolutely rocks for garage sales. Grab yourself a copy of the Saturday Star and check the classifieds any weekend during the summer. The listing will be almost a full page long. One thing I've noticed is that if one sale has good prices, then the area will be good. But one bad egg and you might as well move onto another neighbourhood.

My wife and I try to head across to Buffalo/Rochester garage sales a few times during the summer. They are usually larger and the sellers often treat their sale more in the spirit of "let's clear stuff out" and less "I want my original money back".

So, yeah, it's worth the hour-and-a-half drive every now and then, but I wouldn't do it every weekend. One other note, most american sales seem to start at 9am, with nothing outside before then. Garage sales here start around 8am, but the "early birds" will have most of them picked clean before 7:30am.

nice finds punqsux!

I'm particularly jealous of your vinyl finds. while I do listen to quite a bit of electronica/dance, I'm an 80s music nut at heart 8) do you mix records at all, or just like vinyl in general?

Man, maybe I should stop and check a few out. The last time I saw something worthwhile was when I bought about 100 M.U.S.C.L.E. figures for $5....and that was 10 years ago.

Nice finds.

I scored Rick James Street Songs (vinyl) for a buck last Saturday. He's standing under a street lamp with thigh high red boots on. Fucking kick ass.

That NES lot has me especially jealous. I'd probably pay $6 just for a Zelda with the map. (If it was a gold cart that is :p )

sucks about your rec players, you should get one fixed ;) otherwise, I have an extra working one, a belt-drive Technics that I had fixed up when I was in school. I'd be willing to trade/sell it if you want.

I see you got Bowie's "Let's Dance" LP. Nice, as China Girl is a freakin' sweet song(honorbale mention goes to the Men Without HAts LP just for what it is). What came on that "72 in 1" cart?

That would be me. An NES with about fifteen games early in the summer, and a Genesis with a shoebox full of cartridges a few weeks back. $12 in each case.

$24 for hours of classic gaming goodness - how can you pass that up? :D

Also, you're a lucky bastard. I'm jealous of that Pokémon Sapphire in particular. Want to trade for a $5 copy of the newest Yu-Gi-Oh game? :)
