I dont really have a problem with gutted copies but I can see why. Its a bit obsurd when you think about how its done. I bought gutted copies at the last sale and didn't think twice. As long as it works, I'm fine.

They open them, they put NEW stickers on the case and directly on the insert in the case, which are a bitch to remove and look like ass if you don't. Sometimes the discs don't even look new, they're scratched and they slip them into sleeves just like the used games. I swear they take returned copies and resell them as new.

The employees are allowed to borrow games as part of their benefits. Sometimes they'll take the gutted games if there aren't any used copies of a game in yet. They aren't supposed to, but it happens a lot.

I know its a hot topic and I hope this doesn't open the thread into a trash session, but the practice of employees opening a game and testing it has been a LOOOONG tradition that goes back even to when I worked in a Babbages back in 1994.

Cars you buy have been test driven, clothes you have bought have been tried on in the store, it's been happening all over sales groups everywhere and I guarantee it won't permanently stop there if at all. I can't stress enough that if you get one that looks like it has been opened DON'T BUY IT.

Typically the companies don't mind it because it allows an employee (which is really a salesman/woman) to try the game and talk to it easier. I for one trust hands on over a website's bought reviews.

Anyway..... I'm off to go pick up a Bionic Commando. I think $20 is a decent price for it. I'm surprised I'm buying it at $20 before Target has it on clearance.

Yes, it is absolutely worth it.

I think longer sessions are better, but I suppose you could play a little here and there. You can save just about anywhere, although most quests will take a couple hours.

I guess it's all on your style of play, do you like a more futuristic shooter type that is more focused on the major storyline, and a little less on the side missions, or do you like an old style RPG with swords/bow and arrows that is more focused on free roaming then the major storyline.

They say minus the required install with v-sync the ps3 version graphically is their choice. Also if you have Rearmed I believe on both consoles you can unlock the "classic" character look rather then the silly beefcake they have in there now.

On a side note, also found a used copy of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood for 360 for $49.99 used, $44.99 after EDGE... not a bad savings on a new game. That, and a copy of Disgaea 3 used, and our credit is completely gone.

It was a gutted copy, which for $20 I was fine with but here's the kicker - they put a price sticker DIRECTLY on the insert card (on the spine). I tried to peel it off and just made a mess of things. Anyone know how to get those off?

i just went to the gamestop at brea union plaza off imperial. they had plenty of everything still sealed. i picked up bionic commando. the lady there was nice, she was setting up a section with just the $19.99 and under games, which is the shelf located to the right when you enter the store. i asked her how long the sale would last. she told me that it should be permanent and that there will be a section from now on for affordable games that are 19.99 or under. not sure how accurate that is but it would be nice.

Got the last copy of Bionic Commando (360) and HAWX (PS3) at one Gamestop, so both were gutted, but I don't mind cause I'm playing them for a week and trading them in. Is Sonic Unleashed worth it for 20?
From what I understand:

The 2.5D "Daytime" running levels are some of the best to come out of a Sonic game since the Dreamcast era.

The "Nighttime" Sonic-turns-Kratos levels are absolute suck.

The games split pretty evenly between the two.....I'll wait for 15 or 10 before I bite though. I bought the first next-gen Sonic for $5 at a Walmart clearance and I have never disposed of a game so quickly in my life.

But the demo for Sonic Unleashed was amazing. It not only looked good but it played surprisingly well. if that damn Werehog didn't exist the game would be great (but then probably wouldn't be $20)

I wouldn't worry about expecting unsealed/used copies, though it's happened to me twice in a number of years. And I just ordered HAWX and BC, so I'm in the same boat as everyone.

Got Hawx and BC for 360, and Tomb Raider: Underworld on PS3 for a little over $60. Hawx was gutted, but only because it was the last/only copy. Disc is pristine though.

What are the differences between the regular version of PoP vs the LE

The LE comes with a bonus CD that has a soundtrack, art gallery, making of, and a snippet of a strategy guide. Also comes with a code for an unlockable skin.

um on the website it shows BC as $50 for the ps3, anybody else seeing this lol, i hope it didn';t change as i have to wait til tomorrow to grab it.

if you clicked the game, it said 50 used, 20 for new, but not available online.......

Wow, more NYC board members than I knew. I was just there around 11:30am and picked up a 360 BC sealed... though after thinking about it some more, I'm thinking of going back and exchanging it for the PS3 version after reading the comparisons. :-k

What's Goozex points?

It's their currency. It's an AMAZING game trading site. I already traded my BC I bought earlier today for 1000 pts ($50) but don't have to ship it for three days so I will be able to beat it.

I've gotten older, somewhat rare games like Symphony of the Night and Star Ocean: Second Story from flipping games like this to get the points. You can definitely come out on top if you play your chips right.
