One great deal I DID notice, haven't seen mentioned... for the 360, the Fallout 3 card for Operation Anchorage and The Pitt is $9.99. That's the card for the dlc, not the guide. So basically half price.

it is as far as away as spiderman, it does physics-based swings. basically letting go at the top of the arc is not going to give you the most distance. there is a learning curve but it is one of the most rewarding swing mechanics to me

I just bought a second copy of B.C., I would have liked the PS3 version, but they were sold-out online; so I just ordered the 360 version for the second time. I'd highly advice picking up B.C. for this price, it's not only well-worth $20, it's also well worth full-price. It has a few issues, but it's still an amazing game.. just one no one gave a chance (I'm giving my other copy to my brother, since he's borrowing it now anyway).

The biggest problem with BC is that GRIN wanted more time to polish it up but Capcom insisted on their timetable plus they didn't want to wait too long after the popularity of BC: Rearmed. I think had GRIN had a few more months it would could have been at least 8.5-9 out of 10 in all reviews. Its a shame the reviewers also didn't give the game much credit.

HAWX looks like a good deal, everyone tells me the campaign is easy but the online is fun. I may bite on it too. I got PoP when it was $27 used, still need to finish it.

Mirrors Edge is worth the price if you haven't already played it. Quite unique and the time challenges will keep you playing.

Also Bionic Commando is easy achievement/trophy points for those whores! Its just a matter of playing through the game and completing challenges that you'll no doubt do.

^ I don't know how it works for all Best Buys, but one clerk at mine said they can match online deals as long as it's from a legitimate business, and not eBay or some shady company from overseas. So you could probably just give them the site to look up the ad on.

I called my local stores (Parkersburg, WV) about Bionic Commando and it still scanned at $59.99 at both stores. Looks like BC remains on my "rental" list.

I did some legwork and actually went in to my local stores.

The first store had it on-shelf for $19.99 and the other store had yet to receive the price drops, but after a quick e-mail to corporate, they said they could sell it at $19.99, too. If your store doesn't have it listed at $19.99, have them confirm with their DM and it should be smooth sailing.

I just gave it a whirl and it's a little tough to get the hang of, but after some practice, I think it'll be WELL worth $20.

Whether these prices will last for the games in question, it seems likely. Either way, you should make your choices sooner rather than later.

picked up hawx and bionic commando (ps3) ...both copies were gutted, but that doesnt really matter to me, its not like I am going to leave them wrapped in hopes of selling them. However, these two games didnt have the gamestop sticker they put on new gutted games so they know (or don't know) if the buyer opened the games. This worries me just in case I might want to return them.


while I was there I also grabbed a PS3 Guitar hero..I don't know why, since I traded in my 360 RB2...oh well, I will probably just return it. Also picked up real triggers for the DS3 (which feel great).

A few weeks back GS was running a deal where you trade in 3 games and get an extra $10. Well, I traded in 21 games, and got about $140 in credit.

Today, I went and bought Bionic Commando, Wheelman, MLB 2k9, NBA 2k9, and HAWX. I also traded in three games and got FNR4 for free. I put Wheelman and Bionic Commando on Goozex the other day when I heard about this sale. About to go mail them both now. Plus I'm 5 in line for the rest of the games. I got pretty lucky.

I doubt Goozex will take the 2 extra BCs before dropping in value, but oh well. I'm like #30 right now in the queue. I can always return the games, trade them or give them as gifts. Seems like they had lots of extras--and on eBay they're not going for much more than $20. Not a sought after game? Strange. But I'm not a hoarder, so buying a couple extra games still feels..."wrong". I typically hate those types of "gamers".

Picked up Prince of Persia for PS3 today. Whatever you've heard about the bad things of it are bunk. The whole "you can't die" thing is nothing-- you still get teleported back to the last safe ground you faced before you screwed up. Fans of PoP Sands of Time will really enjoy this one--the pillar leaping, wall-riding acrobatics are back, and the combo system during combat is pretty flippin' cool. The dialogue between the main characters is funny and bantering (if only in American accents, which is slightly off-putting), and the environments look amazing.It's $20 well-spent--I just sat down and played for the past 5 hours straight after picking it up, and I'm nowhere near done yet.

As for the condition of my copy, it was gutted, but in pristine condition--nothing had been touched inside. It was as new as the day it was minted.

My only question to all of you is--is SW:TFU worth it? I know it had been reported severely buggy in later levels, but I loved playing the demo. Is there any replay value in it, and what's the average game time?

Still, I would say SW has a great deal more replay value than BC. SW has more enjoyable combat than BC easily. Both are still more rentals than anything, but by the end of BC, I couldn't wait to get it out of my Xbox. SW, I just was disappointed that I was dumb enough to preorder it.

Why would you buy 3 titles for $20/each just to trade in for a $60 game. With taxes and everything it will cost you more in the long run. You are exactly the type of customer that GS loves.

And actually..... taxes on 60 spread across 3 items... is the same as tax spread across one item... and if you really want to be technical... 3x games at 19.99. That would be 59.97, which is less than a 59.99 copy of FNR4.... making it still cost less in the long run.

Really, though. That is the type of customer that Gamestop would really dislike if those are three titles that they could have moved if it's new... because then they not only lose the 5$ price difference between new/used, but they also lose the discount saved with edge cards and coupons... ultimately costing them money and if you really want to be a jerk about it... trade them in disc-only, ensuring that they most likely will not be bought.

I don't know why you'd jump all over his case for making an observation... since there's a much easier way of pointing out that his strategy was not the best to maximize the FNR4 deal. You could have easily said "hey, you could just get 2 games for 15 at Blockbuster that qualify making FNR4 barely cost 30 dollars"

Its slow to begin with so if you are making an impression off the first few levels I would say you are missing out on a lot especially since you don't get most of the abilities you learned in the tutorial until near the end of Act 1.

i drove to a sf bay area GS during my lunch hour. i picked up :ps3: BC and :ps3: sonic unleashed, which were new, shrink-wrapped copies. this GS had already gutted the :360: games posted as being on sale.

on a side note, i saw a teenager with dad in tow trading in ps2 and games for an xbox 360. he even traded in games for $1 credit. his dad was getting annoyed that GS was gypping them. he wouldn't let his son trade in 2 wired ps2 guitars for a buck each. the dad was trying to sell them to incoming GS customers for $2 each-haha.

Normally, yes, trading into GS is stupid, but the current promotion going on now bumps the values up to very competitive levels on plenty of games so I'm not surprised he has that amount of credit.

Hell, on average, with the trade 6 get an extra 40% (50% with edge) I made more on the games I traded in then I would have on Ebay without having to deal with fees, packing, shipping, and pain in the ass buyers. Gamestop took in my disc only, scratched GTA 4 for $21 in credit.. I'm sure as hell not getting anywhere near $21 for that on Ebay. They also gave me $23.25 for GTA Chinatown Wars, which is on the higher end of what it sells for on Ebay but without the fees and the other BS.

Another example is, after the trade in deal, I got $9 for Fight Night Round 3 for 360, roughly the same is if I sold it on Ebay (if I got lucky and was able to sell it for $9 even, but even then, I'm looking at fees after the sale).

Picked up a gutted BC for PS3 today. I usually get 360 versions of multiplatform games, but I've been building up my PS3 collection lately. Comparisons seem to give a slight edge to the PS3 version (while I was out, I also picked up a used Dead Space (PS3) from GameCrazy - the comparisons that I've read also give that a slight edge). I didn't mind it being gutted, and didn't have time to check another location. I know I could have gotten a non-gutted if I tried, or I could have ordered it online to be certain (although it is OOS online now). I probably won't play it until I finish Prototype, though, which is a lot more fun than I expected it to be (and I am sure glad I chose to get that as one of my $54.99 b2g1 a few weeks ago instead of BC).

The games where the used prices go down are permanent price drops that just so happened to fall on the same day as this sale, for whatever reason. Henry Hatsworth, for example, is never going back up in price.

It still depends. I know a couple months ago they had Madworld at $29.99 new and $24.99 used then a week later it went back up to $49.99. If you see it and want it at that price it is better to get it know than wait, cause who knows.

If a game doesn't work, just about any store in the known universe will allow you exchange it for another copy of the game, even GS. So, their cruddy policy of opening new games does not hurt you there one bit. I mean, not to be rude, but isn't that common sense? After all, how would you know the game doesn't work unless you did open it? So, whether you open it or they open, it's still opened, and if it doesn't work, they will let you exchange it.

I have to agree. I put it in first thinking I'll stop playing it after 30 minutes out of boredom. I'm now 67% through according to the save game. It's definitely not worth $60, but it's also not as bad as everyone else made it to be. Only really annoying thing is that you hop around and all of a sudden you're dying fast cause you're too far off the map, even more annoying when there's ammo and stuff there.

My copy of Wheelman didn't have a sticker seal on it, just the price sticker. Slight fingerprints on the disc and some blotches on the cover (probably some customer with tuberculosis sneezed on it and it dried). I was able to take the price sticker off without leaving any residue, but the case doesn't shine like it's new. Because it's not.

I'm guessing it's because I got the last copy. I must have, because the 3 BCs I bought were all shrinkwrapped.

I mean, Microsoft puts the green seal on the sides of their games for a reason. That way you know what you are buying is NEW. Without the seal, what are you buying? Gamestop is commiting fraud as far as I'm concerned, each and every time they sell an open game as new.

I didn't complain because I'm going to open the game and play it anyway, plus it was cheaper than the used copy (and if it's the last copy I wasn't going to argue)...but my used games almost NEVER wind up looking like the new Wheelman case and disc I bought today. I baby my stuff. Even my Oblivion case from launch is pristine.

I think more complaints need to be filed at the corporate level about their practices, or even the BBB. Like I said, I believe it to be fraud.

It seems that they didn't update their systems on used games until last night. I was checkin the PoP used version...was still 26.99 in store and online, checked again later last night and they had changed it to 17.99 or 18.99. These prices should be around all month so I am gonna wait for the B2G1 next week.

BB PM always works like this - if you PM at the time of purchase, you get a straight match. You need to pay their full price, then PM, to get the extra 10% of the difference.

I'm not sure of their policy, but when I did price matches in the past they just matched the advertised price. If you buy at BB's regular price and then take your receipt up to the service desk for a price adjustment you can get the extra 10%.
