Does anyone know what the shipping rates on market place items are?
Because really... The items on it seem very safe as described by wombat and they "apparently" don't charge tax (according to some of the descriptions).
Amazon.ca also says that the shipping rate is a flat $5 for video games, but I wanted to make sure that was the marketplace sellers price.

Last time I checked for one copy of video game, it is either 2.99 or 4.99

Marketplace shipping can be whatever the sellers feel like charging for it. The $5 pricing is the rate Amazon themselves charge when ordering from them, if you aren't going for $39 free shipping.
Overall if you're looking to buy from sellers you're better off using eBay. It's feedback system and refund setup are far better than what you'll get though Amazon sellers. And frankly it's the exact same sellers working on both sites.

Ragnar, I love you. Have my babies.
I didn't realize those were amazon's personal prices. Guess it is unfortunately still cheaper to go through Goomba (and paying for convenience of having to not waste gas and time). Geez that's a huge bill though ha ha.

The $4.99 shipping for videogame items is the flat rate Amazon charges the buyer and credits you the seller. The seller does not get to choose what they charge for shipping and even if they are selling a system which costs $30 to ship, they are still only credited the $4.99.
Amazon's return policy is much better than Ebay's, you can return an item for whatever reason you want and the seller has to grant it to you and if you ever have an issue with an item where it is not as descrbed or doesn't work, Amazon will always side with the buyer and you get to keep the item as well as your money, you are under no obligation to return defective merchandise, it's up to the seller to arrange for the return and pay for it after the transaction has been reversed.

Hmm, reading over Amazon it seems you're right. I guess they changed their policies sometime in the last couple years that I haven't used them ^_^;; That's much better now.
Still, I'd kinda prefer eBay for buying used stuff. Their refund policy works out about the same with Paypal, and you actually get pictures of the stuff your buying before you order it ;)
