ok so today i planned to go to best buy to pick up nba live 2005 and viewtiful joe with my reward zone certs. So i call them up to see if they have NBA live in and the dude says they do and he sounded really sure so i go down there to find that there is no NBA live and that their computers say that it doesnt come in until the 7th. So i got pissed and went and got viewtiful joe. I go to the register and get a queer dude at the register and i give him my certs and says i can only use 2 per purchase. That pissed me off even more because customer service at bestbuy.com said i could use as many as i wanted to at a time. So my trip ended with viewtiful joe for 10.71 and no NBA live.

Thats when u get the manager... Usually they dont let u get free stuff with those tho.. Since they cant give u any money back if ur purchase is too low.

Best Buy employees creep me out lol

I was at best buy getting some dvds awhile ago and I hear the best convo ever, this best buy clerk was stocking shelves with a trainee, and he told him "try and look very busy, it usually makes customers not approach you", i came back too that section later and I hear this nugget of wisdom "usually I will point the customer in the direction of what hes looking for but I dont try very hard too make sure they find it, what am I gonna do walk with him and look shelf by shelf, yea right", I should have posted this weeks ago

Isn't it great with huge corporations where one head doesn't talk to the other.

I had a very similar experience. I visited 2 local Best Buy locations here in New York both yesterday and today, neither had NBA Live 2005 despite assurances from employees that they did.

Haha, you should have walked right up to the employee later and asked him to help you find a bunch of games, and insist that he pawed through the shelves. Then once he finds them all, put them back and say you don't really want to buy anything. That would have been great if you had the time to wait.

Since when could you combine certificates? In the past I was only allowed to use 1 per item on items over $9.99.

Did they try and sell you the 2004 version for the same price or try to tack on a service plan or magazine subscription? *THAT* would've been the trifecta.

I watched a guy knock down the cost of a GCN, Sonic Mega Collection, a memory card, and a PRP to like 108. So I guess this is YMMV

You have the Internet. Why didn't you CHECK ANY retail website to see if NBA Live 2005 was released instead of going by a BB employee's word?
