Some of the comments about this new hologram technology are hysterical. Like this one:

Three-dimensional, volumetric imaging.
Every single "hologram" video that has ever been on the internet is just demonstrating a regular, traditional two-dimensional projection, the same that you would get from any regular projector (identical to a home theater projector), but simply projected onto a transparent/semi-transparent medium (glass or mist or wire mesh), rather than a wall or movie screen.
Getting the illusion of an image floating in space is easy, and the technique has existed for decades. Literally no new advances have been made in regards to this sort of "hologram" technology for many, many years.
The real next step is an actual volumetric projection (and I don't mean perspective-correcting 2D projections, either, as that is still just an illusion, using a 2D projection) which no one is even close to. Until then, it's still going to be just plain old traditional 2D projections, without any sort of real new technology.
I'm waiting for hard light. Wake me when that happens.
